Professor McGonagall's voice echoed in the corridor, amplified many times by magic:
"All students, return to your respective college dormitories immediately. All faculty members, return to the faculty lounge. Please act immediately."
The young wizards were in complete chaos, running around everywhere, and all sorts of rumors were circulating.
Some say another young wizard has been killed, and this time it wasn't petrification, but actual death.
Some say the monster in the locked room has finally emerged and is now fighting the professors!
Their reactions varied: some obediently rushed to the lounge, some huddled in a corner trembling, some tried to leave the castle, and some even cried out for their mothers…
The college's prefects and student council president simply couldn't control them.
Seeing the young wizards behaving like this, Levin couldn't stand it anymore.
He found a secluded corner, immediately transformed into a feathered serpent, activated the Cloak of Courage, and then used Invisibility.
[Cloak of Courage: A 3rd-level protective spell that grants all allies in the area (including yourself) resistance to fear.]
Immediately afterwards, he took to the air and flew around the entire castle area.
The sacred aura of the feathered serpent, along with the encouragement of the Cloak of Courage, gradually calmed the panicked young wizards.
Then, Levin transformed back into human form, but the [Cloak of Courage] which was still active did not disappear.
He walked into the hall where the young wizards were most numerous, and used the [Illusory Sound] spell to amplify his voice:
"Everyone, please calm down!"
Levin's voice, accompanied by the power of his mind and the Cloak of Courage, resounded through the Great Hall like muffled thunder.
The young wizard recognized the voice as belonging to Levin Green, the boy who was a Ravenclaw prodigy and had even defeated a chimera.
They had already been calmed down by the feathered serpent, and with Levin's voice, they immediately calmed down.
Levin's accumulated prestige came into play at this time.
"Everyone, please follow the professor's instructions and return to the lounge in an orderly manner with your respective prefects!"
"You can completely trust the professors, trust the school, and trust...me! After this period of investigation, I have grasped the secrets of the Chamber of Secrets and roughly ascertained the identity of the heir. I will work with the professors to solve this problem! Believe me, that monster that attacked the wizards will no longer be rampant!"
In order to quickly appease his classmates, Levin chose to stake his reputation.
This choice is actually very dangerous, almost equivalent to gambling.
If Levin fails to resolve the issue, his reputation will suffer a significant blow.
But once he actually solved the problem,
Then his prestige among the junior wizards would be comparable to that of the professors.
This marked the first step Levin took in officially developing his influence.
"All of you, don't worry, students! Don't panic! Remember, you are wizards, so hold your wands tight!"
"The threat will soon be eliminated!"
Under Levin's reassurance, the young wizards chose to obey; they stopped panicking and began to cooperate with his commands.
So the prefects took the opportunity to organize a group and lead the young wizards to the various common rooms.
Levin and his two companions headed straight for the faculty lounge.
Chapter 144 It's up to you, Lockhart
"Something's happened again,"
In the faculty lounge, Professor McGonagall addressed the other silent teachers, saying, "Two students were abducted by the monster and taken directly into the secret chamber."
Professor Flitwick let out a scream, Professor Sprout abruptly covered his mouth with both hands, and Snape gripped the back of a chair tightly, asking, "How can you be so sure?"
“The heirs of Slytherin,” said Professor McGonagall, her face pale, “have left another message. Right below the last one, it says: Their remains will remain in the Chamber of Secrets forever.”
"Who is it!" Professor Flitwick pressed.
Professor McGonagall opened her mouth and uttered two names in a dry, laborious manner:
“Ron Weasley,”
"And, Harry Potter."
With a thud, Snape jumped up, seemingly wanting to rush out of the classroom immediately, but Professor McGonagall held him back tightly.
“Don’t be impulsive, Severus. We need to proceed with caution in this situation. The most important thing right now is to prevent the situation from getting worse.”
Snape glared at her fiercely, as if he wanted to devour her alive.
But he honestly stopped in his tracks.
So Professor McGonagall began making arrangements.
"Severus, I need you to activate the school's defensive magic. Philius, patrol all the common rooms to ensure student safety. I need to find a way to access the Headmaster's office and contact Dumbledore!"
Professor McGonagall's voice trembled slightly; she was trying her best to remain calm.
In all these decades, the school has never faced such a crisis. And even its pillar of strength, Dumbledore, is gone!
If not handled properly, Hogwarts might be shut down!
Suddenly, the door to the faculty lounge was slammed open again.
Lockhart, dressed in a flamboyant outfit and arriving late, chuckled as he went, "Don't worry, my dear friends, I have a clue, but I can't tell you yet! I'll find the secret room soon!"
Then he saw the professors looking at him with fierce eyes.
Lockhart immediately changed his tune:
"Uh, I mean it won't be long, but we haven't found it yet."
Professor McGonagall hated this guy who had to cause trouble at such a crucial moment. Students were missing, and he was still trying to be a hero.
“That’s perfect! Professor Lockhart, our tasks are all arranged. As for you… tonight is the perfect opportunity for you to show your skills. We promise that no one will interfere with you. You can deal with that monster all by yourself.”
With that, the professors hurriedly left.
Lockhart was horrified by the professors' words. He knew his own limitations and was well aware that he lacked the skills to deal with monsters.
What else could we do? We had no choice but to run away.
Lockhart was just about to leave when he bumped into Levin and his two companions as they entered.
"As expected, Professor Lockhart is here."
When Levin saw him, his eyes lit up, and he immediately showed the expression of an admirer meeting his idol.
In reality, he had no intention of seeking help from the professor at all; if he had to, he would only go to Lockhart.
This annoying guy is actually the best meat shield.
He had tolerated the other party's harassment and attempts to gain attention for a whole semester, and now it was time for revenge.
"Professor, good news! We've found the entrance to the secret room. All we need is for you to lead the team so we can go rescue them."
“Oh, the entrance to the secret chamber, yes, the secret chamber… well, but I have my own plans, and I can’t alert them.” Lockhart stammered, changing the subject.
Seeing that he didn't respond, Levin encouraged him:
"Professor, you are the renowned Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher! You've written so many amazing books, and now is your time to save the world, just like in those books. If you successfully rescue Harry and Ron from the Chamber of Secrets, you will become Hogwarts' greatest professor, and the Ministry of Magic will reward you with..."
You award me a First Class Order of Merlin!
No one noticed that his words already carried a powerful spiritual force.
Lockhart was indeed tempted for a moment after hearing Levin's words, but he knew his own abilities all too well.
Even Dumbledore couldn't handle this kind of trouble; if he went there, he'd only be delivering food to someone else.
“Alright! Mr. Green, I won’t lie to you anymore, all my books are lies!” Lockhart complained loudly. “There’s no way I could go to that damned secret room. I simply don’t have the ability, you know that! The contents of those books are all fabricated by me lying, ambushing, taking credit for other people’s achievements, and putting my own name on them!”
The tasks being processed!
"So, you're not planning to come to the secret room with us, right?" Levin pressed.
“I won’t go, Green.”
Lockhart's hand had already subtly moved towards his waist.
He had witnessed the strength of the three young wizards before him at the Duel Club.
Levin Green was able to suppress the powerful Snape.

Hermione could easily defeat any other witch her age.
Cirella could subdue a wizard wielding a wand with her bare hands.
He didn't want to face them.
Unfortunately, just now, in a moment of excitement, he revealed his biggest secret (he hasn't realized what happened yet).
So we had no choice but to take action.
But it doesn't matter, he's very confident in his [Forgetfulness Spell].
If I launch a surprise attack, a single [Forgetfulness Spell] will make them forget everything that happened today.
Having made up his mind, he instantly drew his wand.
"【Forget everything】!"
He shouted the incantation, but the sudden stiffness and emptiness of his magic almost made him vomit.
His Oblivion Spell was countered.
Before Lockhart could do anything, another spell struck him on the head.
Lockhart fainted on the spot.
“Tie him up,” Levin ordered. “Then grab me, and we’ll take you into the secret chamber.”
Hermione waved her hand and cast [Animated Ropes], binding Lockhart himself with his clothes.
Then she grabbed Lockhart's hair with one hand and put her other hand on Levin's body.
Ciri also drew her longsword and grabbed Levin's hand.
Levin cast Advanced Invisibility on each of them, then began sensing the location of the amulet on Harry's body.
