He left the amulet for Harry beforehand because he had foreseen this outcome.
Given Voldemort's personality, if his host is confronted so directly, there's a chance he might back down, erase Ron's memories, and go back into hiding, waiting for his chance.
But it's also possible that they might simply quit the performance altogether and flip the table.
If the latter is the case, then Harry will most likely be kidnapped to the Chamber of Secrets.
However, Levin was not worried about his life.
Given his status, Voldemort couldn't kill him.
If he follows Levin's advice, then once he enters the secret chamber, Levin's amulet will be taken with him.
The amulet was a version personally crafted by Levin, bearing his engraved teleportation runes.
In addition, some special "little magic" was applied to it, giving it some extra functions.
Once the amulet enters the secret chamber, it means that he has obtained the coordinates of the secret chamber.
In this way, he wouldn't need to be silly and hiss at the tap to enter the secret room.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before Levin smiled.
"Found you, Secret Chamber!" (Earth)
Chapter 145 Infiltrating the Secret Chamber
After a dizzying spin, Levin found himself in an unfamiliar room.
The space was enormous and dimly lit. By the faint glow of a few flickering flames on the walls, Levin could see stone pillars surrounding the giant serpent statues, towering high and supporting the dark ceiling.
Directly in front of it is a statue several tens of meters tall.
The statue has an old, monkey-like face, a sparse, long beard that almost reaches the hem of a wizard's robe carved from stone, and two large, gray feet standing on the smooth floor of the room.
That's a Slytherin statue.
In front of the statue, a fierce battle between magical creatures is taking place.
No, that was no longer a major battle, but a one-sided pursuit.
It was a giant, snake-like creature chasing a large, crimson bird.
Beside the snake, a semi-transparent, ghostly figure stood with its arms crossed, watching the scene with great interest.
Levin recognized it at a glance; the bird was Dumbledore's phoenix.
The giant serpent is naturally the snake monster in the secret room.
The semi-transparent figure watching the battle is, of course, the heir to the secret chamber, Tom Riddle from back then.
It seems that the phoenix is agile and can fly, giving it a huge advantage in dealing with the basilisk on the ground. As long as you are careful, the basilisk can only be attacked from one side.
But that's not actually the case.
Although the basilisk cannot fly, its body is enormous, measuring tens of meters in length. Even after being struck several times by the phoenix, it was not seriously injured. The phoenix, though agile, is relatively small; a single bite from it would result in severe injury.
Dumbledore's phoenix was indeed brave; even in one-on-one combat, it still bravely fought the basilisk.
But at this point, it was badly injured and wouldn't last much longer.
So, where are Phoenix's teammates?
Its unfortunate teammate was lying right at Levin's feet.
Levin looked down and saw two "corpses" lying at his feet.
It was the two missing young wizards, Harry Potter and his best friend, Ron Weasley.
The Harry figurine features a thick diary pierced by a silver sword.
Not far away, the Sorting Hat lay limply.
In fact, Levin could sense that they were still alive, but in very poor condition.
Although all bodily functions were intact, he appeared extremely weak and completely unconscious.
It was as if he had gone into shock.
Beside Harry
Upon seeing this, Hermione almost screamed.
But she immediately covered her mouth.
What happened here? Why are they both lying here? Why is the diary pierced?
Seeing that the phoenix was in imminent danger, Levin remained calm. He bent down and found his amulet on Harry's body.
The boy knew very well that no matter what kind of battle it was, intelligence was the most important thing.
As he grasped the amulet, the additional magic Levin had cast on it activated.
A record was transmitted from the amulet into Levin's mind.
This is the magic Levin left on the amulet, which can record things that happen near the amulet.
In the log, he saw Harry say goodbye to him and Hermione, go to the common room, and question Ron.
Under Harry's persistent questioning, Ron suddenly realized the truth and revealed that he seemed to be controlled by a diary. He even mentioned that a senior named Tom Riddle in the diary had been secretly influencing him.
But before he could explain everything, a ghostly figure appeared beside Ron, knocked Harry unconscious, and manipulated Ron to lead Harry to the abandoned bathroom.
They saw the phantom hissing in snake language as it opened the mechanism, leading the two of them into the secret chamber.
After a long time, Harry woke up and found Ron lying next to him.
"Ron!"
Harry rushed to his side and knelt down.
"Ron! What's wrong with you?! Please, please don't die!" Harry cried out sadly, looking at his companion.
"That's right, artificial respiration!"
Harry remembered the emergency first aid techniques he had learned in his Muggle curriculum at elementary school.
He took a deep breath, lowered his head, and put his mouth towards Ron's mouth, spitting into it.
Before he could even finish spitting out his water, an unfamiliar voice rang out.
“I didn’t expect you to have this kind of hobby, Harry Potter,” the voice said, filled with disgust and contempt. “Your relationship is more… intimate than I imagined.”
Harry was startled and looked up to find the person who had knocked him unconscious right there, flipping through a diary.
“Who are you?” Harry asked.
“My name is Tom Riddle, and I am also a student at Hogwarts.” The boy closed his diary.
“Tom Riddle…you’re the owner of Ron’s diary!” Harry exclaimed in surprise. “What did you do to Ron?”
“Ah, Ron, Ron is a good boy. He gave me so much vitality, but left little for himself,” Riddle said slowly.
Hearing Riddle's words, Harry seemed to understand the implied meaning, and he said in disbelief, "You mean, Ron is...dying?!"
“Not entirely.” The semi-transparent figure shook its head.
"Not entirely?! What do you mean?" Harry demanded loudly.
"What I mean is, whether Ron lives or dies... depends on your next move."
Harry struggled to understand: "Action...what do you want me to do?"
"I summoned you here for a reason..."
"Then why did you bring Ron and me to the Chamber of Secrets?!" Harry took a step back, gripping his wand tightly. "If you want to harm the students of Hogwarts, you're dreaming. I will not cooperate with you, the murderer."
"Ah... a locked room, the murderer, it seems you know more than I thought." Tom looked quite surprised.
“Your intelligence is somewhat beyond my expectations, Harry. It seems you have uncovered quite a few facts.”
"But don't be nervous, Harry. If I wanted to hurt you, you wouldn't have woken up."
"The reason I brought you here is because you are the only one I need."
Harry did not feel honored.
He felt nothing but hatred for the guy who manipulated Ron, hurt his classmates, and made him take the blame for countless things.
He said coldly, "Sorry, you've definitely chosen the wrong person. I won't cooperate with you."
“You still don’t understand, my silly Potter.” Riddle shook his head, grinning. “I didn’t choose you because of me, but because of Ron Weasley.”
"It was him who made me choose you!"
“I don’t believe Ron wouldn’t hurt me,” Harry said firmly.
“Foolish Potter is still defending his good friend.” Tom’s smile widened as he said this.
"Unfortunately, when your good friend told me almost everything about you, he was completely open with me!"
Hearing this, Harry felt a sharp pain in his heart: "You...you murderer, if you dare to hurt Ron in any way..."
“Harm?” Tom Riddle seemed amused. “I did take something from him, but like I said before, it was all given to me voluntarily. 2.9”
Hearing this, Harry's voice trembled slightly: "So, what exactly did you take from Ron?!"
“Oh, that’s an interesting topic,” the phantom said in a cheerful tone, as if talking about its proud achievement. “It’s a long story, let’s start from the beginning.”
“In fact, Ron was not the first person to deal with me. In fact, my first partner was his sister, Ginny.”
"She was a very easy-going little girl. In just one month, she completely opened her heart to me and gave me my first life force. But there was only one thing that annoyed me—she was too useless. She was discovered while completing the task I assigned her."
"Although I don't know who discovered her, I cautiously chose to change masters since my power had not yet been restored at that time."
“I started looking at people around her and then I realized that her brother, Ron Weasley, was a great target, far better than Ginny.”
"So, I chose him."
Chapter 146 Riddle, Returning Like Lightning
When facing Harry, Tom Riddle spoke fluently, as if discussing his greatest achievement.
“I left Ginny, erased her memories, and came to her brother’s side.”
"Then I discovered that little Ron was even easier to control than she was. He had more worries than she did, so he kept writing his innermost thoughts in his diary and telling me everything he wanted to complain about."
"A poor family...five great brothers...never having anything new...Bill's old robe...Charlie's old wand...Percy's discarded mouse"
