Bai Meiyue asked the taxi driver to go all the way to the Sunshine Deluxe apartment building. As the car drove past the streets, the traffic slowly thinned down before the taxi came to a stop in front of the building.
At the entrance of the building, there were a few people walking and talking with one another as they took a walk in the park. Bai Meiyue stepped down from the taxi and paid the fare before heading over to the agent whom she had texted last night.
"Hello," the man greeted Bai Meiyue with a smile on his face. He was a young man with slightly curly hair and a sunny disposition. "Miss Bai Meiyue, first of all, thank you for choosing Sunshine Deluxe Apartments. I assure you that you have come to the right place."
"This place is perfect for your family to stay. It is free from pollution, and the traffic here is not as bad as in the city. The scenery here is beautiful and the neighbours are friendly and polite—"
Bai Meiyue nodded perfunctorily. She then said to the agent, "I know all of this. Just tell me if my requirements can be fulfilled or not. I have already told you that I will only buy the penthouse if it is on the topmost floor, and no one should live on the same floor as me."
The heavy rain and the tsunami would cause flooding, and most of the houses would be flooded. Bai Meiyue needed to find a penthouse on the topmost floor to live in.
And as for why she wanted only one penthouse floor, it was because she was guarding against the Bai family. Her father was a shameless man, and his skin was thicker than the walls of the apartment building combined.
Once he finds out that she is living in a decent place after his release, that man will surely come looking for her. If she were to live alone, Bai Meiyue would have a better chance of guarding against Bai Qingshi and his family.
"Yes, I have already arranged for everything, Miss Bai." The agent nodded as he stepped aside and asked Bai Meiyue to follow him. He took her to the second building in the middle of the first and third buildings.@@@@
"If you don't like it, then you can install a separate door at your penthouse; that way you will not have to worry about anyone breaking in."
Bai Meiyue was moved; she admitted that this was indeed a better option than letting such a good penthouse fly off her hands; anyway, she had to compromise somewhere.
She was not being too careful or wary, but she had seen how terrifying humans could be in the post-apocalyptic world. They were even scarier than the zombies.
Bai Meiyue said to the agent, "Let me see the house first. If it suits my taste, then we will talk about the rest of the things."
The agent readily agreed and brought Bai Meiyue to the penthouse, where he showed her the inside of the house. The penthouse was chic and luxurious, with marble furnishing, elegant furniture, and a large TV.
It had two floors. And each floor had two rooms.
Bai Meiyue was very satisfied with the penthouse, especially the open area, which could be used as a greenhouse.
As for the two floors connecting to this one, she decided to fix an iron door in front of the main door; that way no one would be able to come inside the penthouse.
And top of that, Bai Meiyue also decided to take a look at the countryside; if there was a house that could be rented, she was going to do that too , just in case she faced a danger she could not solve,
