Lei Qian was slightly embarrassed and upset with Bai Meiyue's words. He sighed and pushed the glasses up on the bridge of his nose. He was just about to say something when Bai Meiyue glanced at his customised car and asked,
"This car looks really good; can you give it to me?"
It actually had bulletproof windows and durable tyres, it would come in handy when the apocalypse starts.
"Do you want a car?" Lei Qian looked behind him. Though the car was indeed good, it was not suitable for women. He glanced at Bai Meiyue and said to her, "This car has a lot of functions that are not fitting for you. I will buy something that you can drive instead; can you wait till then?"
It was not that Lei Qian was being stingy with Bai Meiyue because of a car. This car was indeed not suitable for her. Not only was there a turbo booster and fire canon system that was fitted in this car; it also had bulletproof windows and could drive in water with low levels and rickety roads and mountains. It was naturally not something a woman should drive.
Bai Meiyue curled her lips when she heard his words. Another car? Why would she want another car with dainty features?
She shook her head and refused like a bandit, "No. I only want this car; if you cannot give it to me, then you can forget about giving me anything. In fact, it would be better if you stopped coming in front of me and say that you want to compensate me when you clearly have no such intentions."
Bai Meiyue did not care about whether her words would offend Lei Qian. The world was coming to an end; who would care about who?
Even if Lei Qian got offended, Bai Meiyue would naturally not care.
Who wanted those paper cars that would smash to bits in just a small collision? Only a car as sturdy as this could hit a zombie in the final days and throw it far enough for her to drive away when she was looking for supplies.
Now that Bai Meiyue asked for it, this man actually gave it away without even thinking twice!
"What are you looking at me like that for? Give her the keys," Lei Qian pretended to not notice the accusatory expression of Lu Yu.
Lu Yu smiled at Lei Qian before turning to look at Bai Meiyue and handing her the keys.
Once the keys fell in her hands, Bai Meiyue didn't think twice as she jumped in the car. She fumbled around with the functions and looked at the speed dial. Seeing the extra booster functions, her eyes brightened like a child who got her favourite toy.
Lei Qian slid inside the car beside Bai Meiyue while Lu Yu sat back in the car. Lei Qian looked at Bai Meiyue, who gunned the engine with a smile on her face and heaved a sigh of relief.
Last night he was really worried that Bai Meiyue would hate him to bits. Now that he saw her smiling like this, he was glad that he didn't refuse her.
He was about to teach her how to gun the engine when Bai Meiyue turned the ignition on and stepped on the accelerator. He expected that Bai Meiyue would start slow; who would have thought that she would actually go to the booster at once?
The car jumped six feet in the air like an arrow being shot through a bow before landing on the road.
Lei Qian and Lu Yu clutched the edges of their seats; their mouths opened in silent screams as the two men turned to look at Bai Meiyue.
