Mother Bai stepped out of the room and looked at her daughter and Lu Yin, who, upon seeing, started crying like a little bullied flower.

"Its nothing, Auntie," Lu Yin wiped her tears off her face and then replied in a calm voice, "I just wanted to help someone; who would have thought—"

She then relayed what happened to Mother Bai in detail but the way she told the story, it was as if she was the victim and everyone else was just bullying her.

The more Lei Yan listened, the more her lips twitched; she then sneered, "What about Brother Jixuan? Did his ribs break on their own?"

"I never knew that such a thing would happen either!"

"If you hadn’t rushed to save that man, then nothing would have happened in the first place!"

"Why are you yelling at me like that? It’s not like I wanted to ignore Miss Bai. But I was scared when I saw her cut the wrist of her relative and kick her sister-in-law—" after she finished speaking, she covered her mouth with her hands as if she did not want to say it but ended up blurting it out.

Lei Yan sneered seeing her act. Though Lu Yin acted like she was not doing it out of malice, Lei Yan, who had suffered countless times under her schemes, knew that this woman was just playing another trick.

She wanted to discredit Bei Meiyue but at the same time she wanted to stop her brother from compensating; just as she was wondering what to do, Lu Yu parted his lips and spoke in a stern voice, "Don’t worry, Miss Lei. Since Miss Bai suffered because of our family, I will definitely do my best to compensate her."

Lu Yin was unwilling but before she could say anything else, Lu Yu glanced at her sternly. Though Lu Yin caused a lot of trouble now and then, she respected her brother a lot. Seeing that her brother was staring at her as if he wanted to say something harsh but was holding back because they were standing in front of the Lei family, Lu Yin pursed her lips and didn’t say anything.

"The citizens are notified to leave their houses and go to higher altitudes."

"The weather department has detected signs of an incoming tsunami!"

"Alert!"

This warning, it was three days earlier!

Bei Meiyue was shocked and confused but she had no time; she caught her mother’s arm, whose entire face was pale and said to her, "Mom, do you trust me?"

What could Mother Bai say at the moment? The notification came too suddenly. She had no choice but to trust Bei Meiyue.
