Chapter 526 Falling into the Sea
Chapter 526 Falling into the Sea
Yu Youyou's words struck everyone like a heavy hammer, leaving them with varying degrees of astonishment on their faces.
“That doesn’t mean…” Fang Zi’ang opened his mouth, his eyes unfocused, “that there is no life in this world.”
"How is that possible?" Anthony exclaimed in astonishment.
"Without land, is this the primitive Earth?"
That's why it's completely surrounded by the ocean and has no life at all...
Yu Youyou did not answer; her gaze fell on the table.
The soup in the pot kept boiling, and the bubbles on the surface popped and burst, the rising white steam blurring her vision and her face.
"Have a meal."
Lu Keming suddenly spoke, breaking the tense atmosphere. He picked up a piece of meat from the pot and placed it in Yu Youyou's bowl, saying gently to her:
"Youyou, eat up, this piece of meat is already cooked."
Yu Youyou looked at Lu Keming, her gaze shifting from his face to the fragrant slices of meat in her bowl. Under Lu Keming's gentle gaze, she smiled and nodded, "Okay."
“Yes.” Ye Li quickly said, “Let’s not talk about that now, let’s eat.”
“That’s true.” Fang Ziang patted his head. “I told you to get some rest.”
Having said that, he eagerly picked up his chopsticks.
The ship continued to rise and fall gently with the waves. The salty smell of the seawater blew in with the sea breeze, dispersing the water vapor that had been obstructing the view on the table, and the smiles on everyone's faces gradually became genuine.
A steaming bowl of soup was placed in front of Yu Youyou.
Yu Youyou looked up and saw that the person who came was Ye Li.
"Drink up." Ye Li smiled as he said to Youyou, "This chicken soup with angelica and red dates will help replenish your energy and blood."
After saying that, she lowered her voice and added, "Only you have it."
"Wow..." Fang Ziang had already heard Ye Li's words. Looking at the chicken soup placed in front of Yu Youyou, he exclaimed jealously, "Ali, you're so biased!"
Shen Minghua turned her head and smiled at Fang Ziang: "If you want to drink it, I'll make it for you too."
"Huh..." Fang Ziang looked at Shen Minghua's mysterious smile and moved away in disgust. "Never mind then."
Ye Li glanced at Fang Ziang with a smile, then subconsciously raised her hand to touch Yu Youyou's head, but hesitated and stopped before touching it.
Yu Youyou nestled her head into Ye Li's palm, squinting as she gently rubbed her face against it twice, her muffled voice betraying her undisguised amusement:
"Thank you, Ali."
Ye Li's expression froze for a moment, but then a smile spread across her eyes. As usual, she tidied Yu Youyou's disheveled hair.
"You're welcome, please eat."
Night fell as the ocean enveloped everything, and the warm yellow lights of the restaurant and the steaming heat of the food dispelled the chill of the night. Laughter and conversation rose and fell in the darkness.
As Louis passed by the restaurant, a few words of emotion flashed in his eyes as he looked at the lively group of young people inside.
That vibrant and spirited period of his youth is now as distant as a dream.
He sighed softly and slowly walked into the darkness.
-
That night.
Everyone fell asleep, except for Yu Youyou, who remained standing on the deck.
The temperature difference at sea is much smaller than that on land, but the constant sea breeze still brings coolness.
Lu Keming carried a fluffy cloak onto the deck and draped it over Youyou's shoulders. "Youyou, you can go and rest now."
Yu Youyou shook her head, looking at the vast, dark sea ahead. "A wave is coming."
“Waves?” Lu Keming frowned. “I’ll have the soldiers monitor the waves later.”
After saying that, he took out Bubu from his storage space, handed it to Yu Youyou, and said gently, "Go and rest, let Bubu keep you company, I'll stay here and watch over you..."
Before he could finish speaking, the ship suddenly began to rock.
Lu Keming staggered, but before he fell, Yu Youyou quickly reached out and grabbed his arm, helping him regain his balance.
Lu Keming held Yu Youyou's hand and turned to look at the sea, only to find that the sea, which had been calm just moments before, was now suddenly turbulent.
The sound of waves came from the dark sea in the distance, growing louder and louder, indicating that the waves were rapidly approaching the ship.
Lu Keming frowned and immediately spoke to Anthony, who was guarding the driver's seat, after activating the smart device:
"Anthony, a big wave is coming! Adjust course immediately!"
"Received!" Anthony replied quickly.
"Youyou, go put on your life jacket first." An indescribable unease spread through Lu Keming's chest. He instructed Yu Youyou and turned to walk towards the driver's seat.
But before he left, Yu Youyou suddenly grabbed his arm.
"It's no use." Yu Youyou looked at Lu Keming. "The waves are too big."
Lu Keming looked out to sea and finally, under the ship's lights, saw the full view of the rapidly approaching waves.
It was a giant wave nearly a hundred meters high, and their ship looked as tiny as a grain of rice in the midst of it.
At this critical moment, Lu Keming turned to look at Yu Youyou, only to see that Yu Youyou's right eye was gleaming with golden light.
"A prophecy?" Lu Keming stared at the golden spot in her right eye, his expression slightly taken aback. "Youyou, what did you see..."
Before he could finish speaking, a small wave crashed against the hull, causing him to stagger again, and the poop in his hand fell into the ocean.
"Pu Pu!" Lu Keming subconsciously reached out to grab Pu Pu, but before he could grab it, Yu Youyou pulled him back.
“Ke Ming, remember this—” Yu Youyou gripped Lu Ke Ming’s hand tightly, the golden light swirling in her eyes, giving her a solemn look.
"I love you."
This sudden confession froze Lu Keming's body. As he stared blankly at Yu Youyou, a burning sensation came from his arm.
Lu Keming looked down and discovered that the burning heat came from the glowing fish-shaped markings on his arm.
His gaze shifted, and he saw a blue light spot on Yu Youyou's arm, shining through the silk fabric and forming a fish pattern exactly like the one on his hand.
"Youyou, this is..."
Before Lu Keming could finish speaking, a giant wave swept towards him, dragging him into the deep sea.
His eyes widened suddenly, his lips parted unconsciously, and his gaze was fixed on Yu Youyou, who was standing on the boat and getting further and further away from him.
The next second, darkness swept in and enveloped Lu Keming.
The icy seawater surged in from all directions, constantly filling his nasal cavity and entering his trachea through his nasal passages, robbing him of his breath.
The influx of seawater constantly irritated Lu Keming's lungs, causing him to cough uncontrollably, but each cough only caused him to inhale more seawater.
The lack of oxygen made his mind foggy, and his vision gradually blurred. The ship's lights moved further and further away from him, eventually becoming a tiny dot like starlight before disappearing completely into the darkness.
"Youyou..."
Before Lu Keming's consciousness faded, he heard himself calling her name repeatedly in his mind.
Around him, a dark red light flickered and then went out, replaced by an even darker ocean.
In the endless darkness, something was rapidly approaching Lu Keming.
The thing bit Lu Keming's sleeve and dragged him deeper into the sea.
