(A chain user… Phantasia told us something about him encountering some random guy that used a chains and fought both Doremi and Arthur.) – thought Thanatos.(There is no point in even asking any questions right now.) – thought Thanatos as the chain user unleashed a barrage of rampaging chains, forcing the two players on the defense, as the vampire ran around, dodging the fury of chains, while the slime girl used her shield to block off the chains.

"!?" – however, the chains that clashed against Maparapara shield were covered in chains.

"DO YOU THINK THIS WILL WORK ON ME?!" – shouted Maparapara as she aimed to rip apart the chains that bound her weapons.

"!?"

(What the?!) – however, to the slime girl surprise, she couldn't do it.

"[Sinful Chain: Punish This One]." – as the chain user activated his skill, the chain that wrapped Maparapra's shields started quickly turning pitch black, before moments later a scream like noise came out of them while unleashing a blackish cracking of electricity.

"!?"

(The hell is this damage?!) – thought Maparapara as she noticed her HP taking a huge hit after getting struck with chains.

"[Shadow Magic: Shadow Blink]!" – Thanatos tried using her skill, quickly teleporting to the shadow of the chain user and slashing the man…. But her scythe was blocked off by the chains.

"[Space Magic: Space Slash]!" – Thanatos was forced to suddenly defend herself as the space distorting slash came her way, landing a blow on her, but not a perfect one.

(The reaction time is alarming!) – thought Apple as he unleashed [Space Magic: Space Needles], but Thanatos expected a fallow up attack and used [Shadow Magic: Shadow Mirror], swallowing the attack and then firing back a barrage of hollow copy attack bombarded the man right in his face…. But the chain user's sheer defense was more than enough to handle the attack.

The chain user unleashed a fury of chains at Thanatos, forcing the assassin to use [Shadow Dash] to quickly leap away, dodging the attack.

And at this exact moment, Maparapara broke apart the black chains that bound her shields, alarming the chain user as he quickly used [Blink] to get away as the spiked shield came his way.

However, after teleporting a short distance, the man was quickly caught off guard as the spikes on the slime girl's shield opened up all at once, before moments later the massive series of blasts was unleashed from each opened up spikes, blasting the whole area and sending the chain user flying and then straight up just smashing into the room's celling.

(The fuck was that?!) – thought Apple as before he could even fall on the floor, Thanatos was already aiming for him as she rushed down the mage, forcing Apple to use his chains to once again parry the strike and use his space magic, unleashing a barrage of space slashes that put Thanatos in thought spot, landing several blows on the assassin and forcing her to back away, while the slime grew in even larger size, straight up reaching the celling with her current height, before then unleashing her spiked shield.

The massive shield destroyed everything in its path, leaving barely any room to dodge.

"[Lost Space Magic: Twin Path]." – however, the chain user didn't panicked, as he created two teleportation gates, one in front of him, and another one behind the slime girl, which he had used to instantly swap the position and dogging the shield.

"[Blood Blade: Rupturing Strike]." – however, to the man's surprise, Thanatos was already near the spot where he teleported to, and this time the man had no time to use his chains to defend himself against blood spike covered blade.

The man countered with his space magic once again, forcing Thanatos on retreat, but then the slime girl used [Slime Art: Slime Hammer], firing off a massive chunk of her slime body at the man that ended up smashing into his defensive barrier that he put up.

(I think I get the problem here.) – thought Apple as the slime around his barrier came to life and was ripping apart his defense, forcing the chain user to launch his chains into the wall, before then pulling himself away as the slime devoured the body, which then returned back to Maparapara's body.

(One is extremely fast and launches a series of attacks, while another one unleashes an extremely massive attacks…)

(They are covering each other weaknesses.)

(And they are not weak at all… No wonder Phantasia keep them both around.)

(But still. It doesn't look like they are fine either.)

"…"

(Okay. We maybe screwed.) – thought Thanatos.

(We still haven't recovered after fighting that Mogu bastard.)

(That mirror guy stopped us from recovering and now we have somebody far more powerful joining the fight!)

(Probably the moment either of us will try to stall him, letting the other one heal up using skills, he will just use teleportation to jump us.)

(I've blocked that attack back then, but it still dealt solid amount of damage to me.)

Thanatos snapped her finger 3 times in the row, before then snapping them twice after short pause.

Maparapara snapped her fingers once.

(She barely has any HP left.) – thought Thanatos as she and Maparapara were using a code signal between each other, telling how much HP they had.

(Honestly, that poison user somewhat fucked me the most, since I ended up taking most of their attacks.) – thought Maparapara.

(The Berserker build barely did anything against him either…. I can still somewhat relay on my natural regeneration and regeneration from passives.)

(But if he hits me with those black chains few more times…. I'm good as dead.)

Unlucky.

This was the best word to describe the situation that the two female players found themselves in.

They may had beaten the number 10 player, but they were left in way too damaged state afterwords.

The two players…. Well, even if they decided to use their skills to heal themselves, it wouldn't really matter in the end since they were forced to fight M.S from almost get go after their last fight.

And it wasn't like Thanatos didn't noticed M.S in time, no. She noticed him instantly the moment he appeared.

So… It was really just in.

The UNLUCKY moment.

Apple ended up coming across the two female players while they were not only running low on HP as well as energies, but also were running low on some of their more powerful skills that were already on the cooldown.

In other words, there is obvious scenario that the two of Phantasia's companion realized.

(We can't win.) – thought both Thanatos and Maparapara.

(I don't know this bastard, but he is strong.)

(If we had waited until cooldown time for our more powerful skills is over and we would had naturally recovered HP…. We could had won this fight.)

(There is no fucking way we can win this.)

"I will buy you some time." – said Maparapara.

"?!"

"Wait, you-"

"Run!" – said Maparapara as she rushed at the chain user and swung down her chain, missing the attack, before then unleashing the slime from her body aiming to catch the man, but failing again as his chains ripper apart the slime.

Thanatos…. Obviously, she didn't wanted to run away and leave alone her companion…. But at the same time, she understood the situation way better than Maparapara.

In the end, Thanatos instantly turned around and ran away.

(FUCK! THIS IS STUPID!) – thought Thanatos.

(Then again, I really have no way of winning the fight in my current state!) – thought Thanatos as she was traversing the temple grounds, speeding herself up with buff skills in order to make as much distance as possible, which allowed the woman to traverse the temples halls as the astonish speed, allowing her to quick reach the open part of the temple where the vampire girl could spot the sky.

(Still, what should I do?)

(How did that man found us? Did he fallowed the mirror guy? Or maybe he has some detection skill?)

However, just as Thanatos was about to leave the open sky part temple and head deeper in, she suddenly felt something starting at her.

Thanatos instantly raised up her guard and in the next moment, the vampire woman was straight up shot through the entire room, flying across the entire open sky room and then smashing into the wall near the entrance that she came out from.

"You got to be fucking kidding me." – said heavily injured Thanatos as she stood up, while a figure was standing in the pathway she wanted to take.
