Chapter 44: Tartarus

"This is the entrance to Tartarus?"

Poseidon asked Zeus who held the map of Tartarus since he is the only one who knows his way around here and grew up outside of his father’s stomach and in the Realm.

Zeus looked at the entrance in front of him and the map in his hands and nodded "yes, the moment we pass through that portal, we are inside Tartarus, so we have to proceed with caution" he said while looking at his companions.

"You lots should proceed with caution because whatever happens inside, I will not interfere unless, it involves the Primordial, Nyx, since she is the reason why I am here" said Coriel who was lying with her eyes closed on a flying cloud she made for the journey.

Hades, Zeus and Poseidon just nodded before looking at one another and walked inside the shimmering red portal leading to the place of the damned souls, Tartarus.@@@@

As soon as they went in, their vision changed as they felt a chilling sensation in the air as if someone is watching them them as soon as they just arrived.

"She is watching, I can feel her gaze upon us"

Coriel said as she opened her eyes and looked below her as if looking at someone who was also looking back at her.

In the very Depth of Tartarus

A woman with a long flowing black hair and black eyes as dark as the night could be seen looking upward when she felt the presence of three new gods and a very powerful being who also knew of her spying on them.

She is Nyx, the first Primordial being and the goddess of the night, the mother of Thanatos, the god of death and Tartarus, the place of the damned souls.

"I wonder what they are doing here. Well, I just have to wait and see"

She said as she focused her gaze on the intruders on her turf.

Back to Coriel and the three brothers

Zeus looked at the map in his hands "this way, we can avoid some of Thanatos’s minions if we go this way" he said as he pointed at the path to their left.

Thanatos said as he brought out his weapon made by the Hekatonkheires and the Cyclopes imprisoned here.

Since he found out that they were good blacksmith, he did not have the desire to release them ever again even if the Primordial goddess of Earth were to ask herself not to talk of some third generation gods who know nothing about life.

"I’m guessing they were the ones who made that for you. If there is a rank for weapons, I’m pretty sure that would be a god rank tier weapon, I can see why you would not give them away but we are going to take them with us, even if it means offending a Primordial goddess"

Zeus said as he eyes was filled with sparkling blue lightening. Lightening also danced around his body as he raised his fist accepting the challenge of Thanatos.

"No, leave him for me, you guys can handle the lesser gods and the minions, I will handle him"

Hades said, his eyes turning into a darker shade of black as his aura changed giving him a dreadful vibe. He brought out two sets of daggers given to him by Gaia to boast his powers even further as she knew that he might be facing the god of Death, Thanatos given his affinity to the domain of Death.

"Oh, I see why I dislike you, you are a new god of Death and their can be only one of in this Realm and I would very much be that person" said Thanatos as he rushed at Hades.

"Me too"

Hades said as he also move to meet Thanatos head on.

Zeus and Poseidon faced the lesser gods together with their minions giving their brother’s battle with Thanatos no interruptions.

At the Depths of Tartarus

"Hah, so the fighting has began and a new god of Death is also here, hahahaha, this sis going to be interesting. I wonder where the other one is"

Nyx said while watching the ongoing battle after she took her eyes off it as she made sure that Erebus do not interfere the affairs of the children.

While she was so fixated in watching the unfolding battle, she did not know when someone intruded in her private area.

Coriel just arrived as she also heard the sound of the trio engaging with Thanatos but she did not pay that any heed as she was not here for that but for something else, and that something is in front of her.

"I thought they say you are the strongest of you lots out here but I guess was wrong. So Nyx, the Primal goddess of the Night, what’s so special about you that draws me to you"
