Chapter 648 I Don’t Want to Get Married!
Chapter 648 I Don’t Want to Get Married!
"Let's go, we'll be late if we don't leave now." A Duo urged. Although there was a hint of impatience in her tone, there was a hint of expectation in her eyes.
Glenn smiled and picked up the car keys, "Let's go, my two little princesses."
The three of them got in the car and Glenn drove towards Metz College.
Along the way, Dilis excitedly leaned on the car window, watching the scenery passing by outside, and exclaimed from time to time.
A Duo sat in the back seat, holding a book in her hand. She seemed to be reading seriously, but occasionally she would look up to the window with a hint of expectation in her eyes.
When they arrived at the school, Glenn parked the car and walked into the campus with the two girls.
Metz College is particularly lively today, filled with parents and students attending the parent-teacher conference.
The campus is decorated with lights and the air is filled with a festive atmosphere.
"Aduo!" A crisp voice came from a distance. The three turned around and saw a little girl with two ponytails waving at them.
"It's Lily!" Aduo's eyes lit up and she ran over pulling Dilis.
Glenn looked at their backs as they ran away, smiled and shook his head, then slowly followed behind them.
The first activity of the parent-teacher meeting is the school’s achievement presentation.
Glenn walked into the auditorium and found it was already full of people.
He found his seat and sat down, with Ella sitting next to him.
"You're here too?" Glenn looked at her in surprise.
Ella smiled slightly, "Dilis specially invited me here, so of course I can't be absent."
Glenn nodded and turned his gaze toward the stage.
After a while, the host walked onto the stage and announced the start of the show.
The first program was a chorus performance by students.
A Duo and Dilisi were among them. They stood in the center of the stage with confident smiles on their faces.
The music started, and the children's clear singing voices echoed throughout the auditorium. Glenn was so engrossed in listening that he couldn't help but applaud softly.
"They sang so well." Ella said softly, her eyes full of pride.
Glenn smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I didn't expect that girl Aduo has this talent."
The next program was a talent show by the students.
A Duo performed a dance with light and smooth movements, which won applause from the audience.
Dilis demonstrated the magic tricks she had recently learned. Although it was just simple flame control, it still amazed the parents in the audience.
Glenn looked at the two girls on the stage and felt a surge of pride.
He turned to look at Aela and found that she was looking at the stage intently with a gentle light in her eyes.
"It looks like they'll have a good time at school," Glenn murmured.
Aila nodded, "Yeah, seeing them so happy, I feel relieved."
After the presentation, parents were invited to the classroom to see their children’s learning achievements.
Glenn and Ella walked into Aduo and Dilisi's classroom together. The walls were covered with children's paintings and handicrafts.
"Did Aduo draw this?" Glenn asked, pointing to a colorful painting.
A Duo nodded and said a little embarrassedly: "Well, I drew it when we went on an outing last time."
Glenn looked at it carefully and saw blue sky, white clouds, green trees, and a few little people running on the grass in the painting.
Although the brushstrokes are immature, they are full of childlike innocence and imagination.
"It's a really nice painting," Glenn praised sincerely.
A Duo's face turned slightly red, she lowered her head and whispered, "Thank you."
Dilis pulled Ella to see her work, which was a little bird made of colored paper with delicate patterns on its wings.
"Mom, look, I folded this!" Dilis said excitedly.
Ella took the bird, looked at it carefully, smiled and touched Dilis's head, "It's so beautiful. Dilis has such a skillful hand."
After visiting the classroom, the last activity of the parent-teacher meeting is the communication time between parents and teachers.
Glenn and Ella found Aduo and Dilis's instructor, a young female teacher.
"Aduo and Dilisi have performed very well in school." The teacher said with a smile, "Not only do they have excellent academic performance, they also actively participate in various activities and get along well with their classmates."
Glenn nodded, feeling secretly pleased with himself.
Although he always teased A-Duo, he still felt very relieved to hear the teacher praise her like this.
"But..." The teacher suddenly paused and his tone became a little serious.
Glenn and Ella looked at each other, and a sense of uneasiness rose in their hearts at the same time.
"Some strange things have happened near the school recently." The teacher said in a low voice, "Some students reported seeing some strangers wandering around the school after school at night, and some even heard strange noises."
Glenn frowned. "Is there such a thing? Didn't the school take any measures?"
The teacher sighed, "We have strengthened security, but those people don't seem to be ordinary people. Their actions are very secretive, and it is difficult for us to catch them."
Ella's expression also became serious, "Could it be..."
Glenn raised his hand to interrupt her, turned to the teacher and said, "Leave this matter to me, I will find out as soon as possible."
The teacher nodded gratefully. "Thank you very much, Mr. Glenn."
After leaving school, Glenn and Ella took Aduo and Dilis home.
On the way, the two little girls were still excitedly discussing today's parent-teacher meeting, completely unaware of the tense atmosphere between the adults.
"Glenn, who do you think those strangers are?" Ella asked in a low voice.
Glenn pondered for a moment and shook his head. "It's hard to say now, but since they dare to move around near the school, I'm afraid they don't have any good intentions. But it's okay, I'll have someone deal with it later."
Ella nodded, "I'll pay attention."
A few people talked about other things.
After returning home, Glenn settled Aduo and Dilis down and went to the bedroom. In the bedroom, the landline phone invented by Glenn was ringing.
Glenn picked up the phone, and a familiar female voice came from the other end: "Mr. Glenn?"
"It's me," Glenn replied. "Pernas?"
"It's me!" The girl opposite was so happy that she seemed to be about to cry, "Glenn! You must help me this time! My mother wants me to get married! This is terrible!"
"..." Glenn blinked, "You are also old enough to get married, right?"
However, the girl on the other side screamed after hearing this: "I don't want to get married! I don't want to spend my life with a stinky man I don't know! Yes, a stinky man! Disgusting! Dirty! He's just a bug in the sewage..."
"Cough cough!" Glenn coughed heavily with several black lines on his forehead.
The girl opposite seemed to realize what she had said and suddenly became quiet. After a long while, she said weakly, "Except for you, Mr. Glenn..."
"So your uncle is not excluded?" Glenn held his forehead with his hand.
"Except him, of course!... Now is not the time to discuss this! Glenn, please help me, I don't want to get married, I want to be with Leila forever..."
"I can't help you with this. It would be better for you to ask your mother for help." Glenn said and hung up.
Just then, Aduo's voice came from outside the door: "Glenn, what are you doing? Come to dinner!"
Glenn came back to his senses and put a smile on his face again, "Here it comes!"
