Chapter 27 Lost
Chapter 27 Lost
I connected to Mingnu's brain and asked her to teleport me to the designated location. Due to the weather, the dark clouds blocked the sunlight, allowing me to move during the day.
As the sound of the pipa rang out, my vision suddenly blurred. When I could see clearly, I came to an open space with bare dead trees around it. I walked on the road that I had already explored.
The heavy snow was still falling, with a biting cold wind blowing from time to time. The snow was piled up very deep, leaving a small hole with every step. There was no other sound except the whistling sound of the wind and the "crunching" sound made by my stepping on the ground.
at the foot of the mountain.
"Um, Grandpa Sanlang, what is a ghost?
In a small wooden house, there was a boy with black hair with a hint of red. He sat on the ground, in front of him was a small table with a few bowls on it, the food in them had been eaten.
The young man looked at the old man in front of him blankly, while the old man was spreading the mat on the floor. Hearing the young man's question, the old man was silent for a while and said.
"From the old days, cannibals have been seen after sunset, so don't go out at night."
Faced with the old man's answer, the boy was still confused. He reached out and picked up the cup of hot tea from the small table and took a sip.
After the old man finished making the mat, he came to the window, picked up his pipe and started smoking, then he turned his back and spoke to the young man.
"Go to bed after you finish eating and come back tomorrow."
After drinking the remaining hot tea in the cup, the young man tidied up the things on the small table, then came to the floor, covered himself with a quilt, looked at the old man's back, and expressed all the doubts in his heart.
The old man also answered the young man's questions. After they talked for an unknown amount of time, the old man finished smoking his pipe, turned off the lights, and the two fell asleep.
On the mountainside.
It was getting dark, but I couldn't reach my destination because I was lost.
"I give up. You can get lost like this..."
I looked back at the steps I had taken and they were all crooked, as if I was being chased by a bear.
I held down my hat that was about to fly away, squinted my eyes and looked up at a distance. There was a faint light in the distance, but it disappeared after a moment.
"Oh, forget it. I'll just rest here for a while. I'm tired of walking."
I glanced to the left and saw a small house that was in ruins. I walked in and found spider webs everywhere and there was a big hole in the roof. I sat down in a corner, closed my eyes and fell asleep.
After all, I am a ghost and cannot feel the cold, so it’s no problem even if I don’t have a quilt.
at the foot of the mountain.
The sky was gradually getting brighter, but the clouds still blocked the sunlight. The red-haired boy said goodbye to the old man who took him in that night and started his journey home.
The breeze blew the boy's face. He had a wooden sign-shaped earring hanging on his ear, a scar on the left side of his head, a pair of red eyes, an empty backpack on his back, and a smile on his face.
"Today's charcoal is sold out. This year, I can feed my brothers and sisters."
When the boy was halfway there, he saw a small wooden house on the left with its door open. As far as he could remember, no one had lived there for a long time, so he walked forward puzzledly, and when he looked inside, he was shocked.
I saw a man in a suit sitting on the ground in the corner, his eyes slightly closed, his face pale, and his lips bloodless.
"This is......"
