Chapter 1796 - 1795 - Dusk Grypwolf
Chapter 1796 - 1795 - Dusk Grypwolf
Lind looked up at the sky in awe. After the tribulation ended and the chorus of voices filled his mind, a resplendent show began.
All 18 elements danced and took on the various shapes of almost all beasts that ever existed. He knew many of them but more than a few were unlike anything he could conceive. It was a celebration of a new path for beasts!
It was unlike when he became a progenitor. He made a new variation of an existing race. Ryl had opened a new door entirely!
They were currently bathing in energies as well. Even his Divine Aura could not pierce it! It was just the Sky Realm ascension but with the Existential aspect added, it made even the worst Immortal Tribulation look tame!
A few days passed as the world settled and the sky finally cleared. Lind saw Ryl standing happily as they wagged their tail fiercely.
They were now taller than him in his human body by far! They still had a tail and the four limbs but there were changes.
Before, fur covered their entire body with scales beneath. Now, it had changed. The scales of the main torso and neck were exposed. They were a very dark blue that seemed to be part of their name.
It was the kind of blue just after the sun set and the blue still lingered in the sky. The fur, once a mix of 2 colors, was now pure black and covered their four limbs fully. The tail had almost a mane on it of that color yet Lind felt like each strand was sharper than any metal.
The tail was not as thick as a dragon’s but the power was clear to his eyes. The same was true of their limbs. They were far thinner yet that gave them a good combination of power and agility.
The final greatest change was their head. It had been wolf-like before. It had been a dragon head shaped like a wolf. That was no longer the cast.
A fully formed wolf head was there in dark fur but the reptilian dark blue eyes glowed starkly compared to the fur.
Any doubt of the predatory skills would be eliminated by those eyes.
Ryl wagged their tail hard as they ran over and rubbed their head against him. Lind actually felt pressure! A Sky Realm was so powerful?!
He smiled and realized with a shock that he felt connected to Ryl in a way he had not clearly felt before. The concept of a pack had always been an instinct for survival in his mind but now Lind realized it was more for beasts.
He would need to explore it later but he was shocked at the next moment.
[I am happy Pack Leader Lind!]
A young voice appeared in his mind without any warning! A fellow Divine Realm was one thing but even then, he had to allow it. Ryl had just transmitted and his mind’s defenses had not reacted at all!
It took a moment to realize it was similar to his connection to Ethry. The bond between mates was intimate enough that his defenses recognized her as part of himself. While Ryl had a similar treatment, Lind could tell it was not the same.
Ryl was not part of him like his family but more like an extension of what defined his connection to the world. Ryl was his pack and he was the leader. The leader must be able to hear his subordinates without resistance.
Lind also noticed that there was the ability to discipline included in that bond to Ryl that was absent from the ones to his wives.
The comparison was illuminating but also made his mind grasp a new piece of the puzzle he was trying to figure out with his new Mystery.
As the pair were basking in Ryl’s success, many auras finally landed on them but Lind simply used his Authority to block it. The instant they felt that, many retracted save 2. His eyes narrowed as he felt some familiarity in them.
He then smiled.
[Aristrossa, you seem to have an old companion of ours.] Surprise bloomed in his mind before laughter was heard outside the barrier he had erected. His hair lit up as an entrance was modified to appear in the sigils.
The shen was in her human form with darker azure colors than before. She had improved.
Next to her was a smaller woman with smokey eyes and flickers of a very bright blue, but it was not related to ice or water.
[Divine Lord Frey, I knew you were in the north but I thought you were keeping a lower profile than this?] Aristrossa was smiling at him in amusement as he sighed but acknowledged his plans had been heavily diverted from his original intentions.
Still, it had produced the results he hoped for despite that.
Ryl suddenly leapt at the smaller human woman before anyone could react. Lind was not concerned as she became a stream of smoke that quickly avoided the enthusiastic greeting of the new race.
Still, Lind knew that was a grave mistake. It would have been better to surrender than entice Ryl to chase them! The Dusk Grypwolf had yet to demonstrate any of their old skills but Lind was shocked at what happened next.
Ryl normally could make it seem like they were a pack on their own or distort their position but the woman had froze as Ryl appeared behind them already!
Even Lind had not noticed! He was slack jawed as they proceeded to lick the face of the woman and wag their tail happily as they greeted the newcomer.
[YOU DAR–!] The woman was clearly about to attack Ryl when they vanished and appeared next to Lind once more. All 3 Divine Realm cultivators wondered if they were dreaming.
A Sky Realm had evaded their senses entirely! How was that possible?! Lind had his connection to Ryl which made it even more remarkable. That was not an illusion!
It was also not tearing through space nor teleportation. None of them knew what happened.
[Lind?] Aristrossa was so shocked she used his name without any honorifics. Her normal propriety was just not able to hold in such a deep state of shock.
Lind looked at the ’victim’ who was now staring at Ryl as seeing them for the first time.
[You are now a Starstream Wolf?] His question made both women jump. He could tell from a glance at one of her skills? Lind recalled all the competitors in the Divine Lord trial. While there had been a wolf, she had not been the current race she was now.
Still, her scent had only altered, not vanished.
[I refined my bloodline recently and changed to the higher form.] Lind understood but she was still locked on Ryl. [How did he do that?]
Lind was about to ask Ryl when he froze. He?
Lind quickly scanned Ryl once more. He found Ryl was in good health but that was not all. Ryl really had become male! How had he missed that?!
Ryl was happily wagging his tail but Lind knelt down and became serious.
[How did you do that, Ryl?] The wolf head tilted in confusion at a 45 degree angle before he closed his eyes and seemed to think really hard.
Once more, Ryl simply appeared by Aristrossa before returning to Lind. There was no sensation of Qi manipulation at all. Instead, Lind felt shock flow through him as his eyes went wide!
Dao! Ryl was using a Dao!
He had no harmony nor any change to his elements. How was he using a Dao?!
What Dao was it?! Why could he not detect it until Ryl actually did it a few times and he only barely recognized the flow of energy. After about 5 jumps, Ryl became exhausted. That, in itself, was even more shocking.
A Sky Realm using a Dao was impossible yet 5 times?! HOW?!
[I think–I think I have heard of this.] Aristrossa suddenly spoke up. The other 2 Divine Lord looked at her. She squirmed at the pressure but pointed at Ryl. [He succeeded in the creation of a new race that never existed before. Heaven and Earth are fair. Aside from solidifying their bloodline into the world, the boon of Laws and Daos would be bestowed based on their success.]
LInd recalled his own progenitor rewards. Because he was a new variation of dragon, he received far more power and recovery compared to many other dragon races.
Still, that left the mystery of what it was. Ryl was now sleeping and had never said a word to him. It was likely he thought of it like his illusive abilities he used to use. The fact Ryl had not even once recreated images of himself might mean that ability was lost.
Lind then froze.
Illusions were, by and large, tricks of light at the Soul to World Realm. Manipulation of noises, and other senses had to be supplemented if the cultivator lacked the corresponding elements.
While Lind could bypass speed by tearing through space, there was a rule even he could not violate.
The speed of light! Divine Realm cultivators moved so fast they could not be tracked by lower realms yet that was partially down to the limit of how much information they could process in a fast paced battle.
Even mortal fighters could be a blur to higher realm cultivators if they moved quickly enough.
Ryl might have a Dao related to the speed of light!
