In an instant, a massive North American bison appeared and stood in front of the giant.
The bison were just ordinary wild beasts; of course, they couldn't withstand a few blows from the giant.
But the troll cannot threaten its summoner until the bison falls.
Hermione's eyes lit up as she watched the troll being blocked by the bison and howling in pain.
"So the Buffalo Curse can be used like this? That's amazing!"
Levin's spell was not over.
While the troll was caught off guard by the bison, Levin began to chant his second spell.
"[Intense Ray]!"
A blindingly bright orange-red beam of light shot from the tip of the wand, striking the troll directly.
The irradiated area instantly turned charred and carbonized, emitting puffs of white smoke.
"Hoohoo!!"
The troll was inherently vulnerable to fire, and the intense heat caused it to roar in agony.
The high-temperature rays sliced across the giant's chest, leaving a deep "one"-shaped scar.
The giant was in so much pain that it couldn't even care about the bison anymore; it could only clutch its wound and roll around on the ground.
But this is not the end of its suffering.
"[Intense Ray]!"
Another blazing beam of light shot out, this time Levin aimed at the troll's newly reattached arm.
Under his careful control, the ray shone directly on the interface on the troll's shoulder and slowly swept across it.
The newly healed limb joint was already fragile, and the [Blazing Ray] now worked like a superhuman heat ray, burning the newly reattached arm off again.
The poor giant transformed back into the Condor Hero.
After losing its right arm again, the giant howled and used its remaining left hand to pick up its right arm and reattach it to the wound, attempting to recreate the scene of limb reconnection.
But this time, its regenerative power has been suppressed by the fire element, and no matter how it connects, it cannot produce any effect.
The foolish giant had no idea what was going on and could only try again and again, raging in utter helplessness.
Meanwhile, Levin had finally prepared his last spell.
"Fireball!"
Normally, he wouldn't use such a large-scale destructive spell in such a confined room.
However, trolls are creatures with strong vitality after all.
In Levin's spellbook, this is the only spell that can deliver the final blow.
After casting the spell, Levin immediately stood in front of Hermione, using Frost Armor to protect himself and the little witch.
"boom!"
The intense fire elementals exploded violently the moment they touched the giant.
The entire women's restroom was instantly engulfed in flames.
Even though the explosion's epicenter was seven or eight meters away from Levin, the aftershocks of the flames still damaged most of his Frost Armor.
When Levin turned his head, the giant was charred black and lying on the ground, lifeless.
If Levin hadn't canceled the summoning of [Monster Summoning] before casting Fireball,
Even that North American bison will be turned into a whole roasted beef.
"Huh, finally done."
Looking at the mountain of charred corpses before him, Levin couldn't help but wipe away non-existent cold sweat.
【Frost Armor】 not only protects him but also provides an air conditioning-like effect, making it quite difficult to sweat under these conditions.
Hermione also exited her invisibility and stood beside Levin, looking at the dead monster with lingering fear.
If Levin hadn't arrived in time, she couldn't even imagine what would have happened.
A few seconds later, footsteps sounded outside the restroom door, followed by a familiar voice calling out:
Hermione! Are you there?
It was Harry and Ron; they had come looking for Hermione too.
"I'm here!"
Hermione responded,
Hermione was touched that Harry and Ron remembered to come looking for her; these two friends were truly loyal.
Of course, what moved her the most was Levin, who came to her side immediately.
No one can provide a greater sense of security than him.
"Hermione, watch out, there's a troll nearby... Ah! What's that?"
Harry and Ron rushed into the bathroom following the sound, only to be immediately startled by the troll's corpse.
Before Levin could explain anything, more footsteps sounded.
A moment later, Ravenclaw's headmaster Flitwick and McGonagall rushed over first, followed closely by Snape, with Quirrell, who had already woken up, bringing up the rear.
Quirrell glanced at the charred giant corpse, then let out a weak sob, clutched his chest tightly, let out another exaggerated wail, and collapsed to the ground.
Snape bent down to look at the troll, while Flitwick and McGonagall looked at the four young wizards.
"Levin Green, what kind of tricks are you students playing?"
McGonagall said this with a cold, angry tone.
"Consider yourself lucky! You weren't killed by it. Why didn't you heed the warnings and stay in your dorm?"
"I didn't hear any warning at all."
Professor McGonagall's questioning flustered Harry and Ron, but it did nothing to make Levin nervous.
Long before he even went looking for the troll, he had already laid the groundwork: "I just ate too fast at the dinner party and my stomach was a little upset. I went out to use the restroom, and I didn't hear any warnings."
Having said that, he went a step further and questioned the other party in return: "I never expected to encounter a troll at Hogwarts, which is supposedly the safest place in the world. I also want to ask, what kind of tricks is the school up to?"
Snape glanced at Levin with suspicion, as if judging the truth of his words.
Flitwick asked with concern, "Levin, are you alright?"
After receiving a negative answer, he turned to Professor McGonagall to explain for Levin: "You have misunderstood, Minerva. Miss Krivat just mentioned Levin to me. He did go to the restroom in the middle of the party, and it's normal that he didn't hear the warning."
“Oh—if that’s the case…I’m sorry, child, it was indeed Hogwarts’ mistake.”
Professor McGonagall was now embarrassed. In fact, her anger stemmed entirely from her concern for her students. So she turned to the three lion cubs and waited for their explanation.
“Miss Granger has been staying here because she’s heartbroken,” Levin explained for Hermione. “She didn’t attend the Halloween dinner in the first place. As for Harry and Ron…”
He glanced at the two of them, who immediately began to defend themselves, each offering their own explanation: "We're here to see Hermione! We want to remind her about the trolls. In fact, we only arrived a little earlier than you, Professor."
After hearing everyone's reasons, Professor McGonagall's gaze softened.
“I understand what happened,” she coughed a few times, then looked apologetically at Levin: “Mr. Green, you single-handedly dealt with the troll, for which I’ll add twenty points to Ravenclaw’s score. I must say, not many first-year students can take on an adult troll, and you have truly proven your talent.”
Flitwick, gazing at the charred corpse, praised, "Although I don't know how you used the Firestarter Charm to kill a giant, I must say, well done!"
“As for you,” Professor McGonagall looked at the remaining three young wizards, “Miss Granger, since your situation is understandable, I won’t deduct points from Gryffindor for it. But Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley, you each deducted 5 points from Gryffindor. Next time something like this happens, you should go to the professor instead of risking your lives—if it weren’t for Mr. Green’s presence this time…”
Professor McGonagall didn't continue; she didn't want Levin to feel that this was encouragement.
"Now, you'd better hurry back to the lounge. The students are all enjoying their Halloween dinners in their respective colleges."
On the way back to the common room, Levin was constantly dealing with Harry and Ron's antics.
They couldn't imagine that a young wizard their own age could defeat a giant head-on.
As for Hermione, the girl smiled throughout—showing no trace of her earlier trembling with fear.
The three people in front of her made her feel friendship for the first time at Hogwarts.
Especially Levin,
It wasn't until today that Hermione felt she had made a friend.
Chapter 34 The Harry Threat?
Levin and the others have returned to the lounge to enjoy the rest of the holiday.
The professors, however, were still discussing the accident.
This giant creature "accidentally" escaped from Professor Quirrell's laboratory.
Although a first-year student disposed of it, Dumbledore certainly couldn't allow Quirrell to leave something like a troll at Hogwarts—not even as a teaching aid.
Inside the headmaster's office, Snape, his face grim, was talking to Dumbledore.
"I don't understand why you allowed him to become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor!" Snape said resentfully.
His frustration is understandable, as the position he has dreamed of for many years is now occupied by such a scoundrel.
Compared to the scene where he watched Lily marry James Potter,
It's about 1% of that feeling.
Dumbledore neither confirmed nor denied this: "I have my reasons, Severus."
Faced with that calm old face, Snape was furious, yet utterly helpless.
In fact, he harbored resentment towards Dumbledore.
The root of his betrayal of Voldemort and his allegiance to the White Wizard lies with Lily.
As a result, despite Dumbledore's protection, Lily was murdered.
Even if this stemmed from an unexpected event that Dumbledore couldn't have foreseen,
Snape still harbored resentment towards the White Wizard.
If it weren't for Lily's child, Harry Potter, he really wouldn't want to obey this old bee's orders.
Seeing that Dumbledore was unwilling to comment, Snape went a step further: "I just checked the fourth-floor corridor, and the door was open. Cerberus attacked the intruder."
