Chapter 20 Three Years Later
Chapter 20 Three Years Later
"We have to destroy all of this rubber at once to prevent it from repairing itself." Kirang stopped worrying and offered his advice.
"Is it disposable?" Shang Yun looked at the stone wall thoughtfully.
"Shangyun, do you have a solution?" Lanfang asked expectantly.
Namo looked at Shangyun with great anxiety.
"Yes, I'll give it a try, I don't know if it will work." After saying that, Shang Yun jumped off the stone wall, walked ten meters, and turned to face the stone wall.
"You should all come down, lest you get hurt," Shang Yun reminded them.
Kilang dismissed Shang Yun's words, believing that even if Shang Yun was a disciple of Master Wutian, it was impossible for him to break through the stone wall created by their entire tribe in one go. Therefore, he did not command his tribesmen to jump down the stone wall, and the Kilang tribesmen stood on the edge of the stone wall to watch from below.
Seeing that they were unmoved, Shang Yun stopped talking. Anyway, these guys were tough as nails.
Shang Yun then formed his hands into a calyx shape, his fingers slightly bent and close together, resembling a flower bud before it blooms. He slowly placed his calyx-shaped hands on his waist, firmly planted his feet, and leaned slightly forward. Concentrating his mind and breathing steadily, he guided the energy within his body through his meridians and acupoints, gradually gathering it in the palms of his hands. As the energy accumulated, a golden sphere of light appeared in his palms.
"Not good! Run!" Seeing the aura that Shang Yun was exuding at this moment, Ji Lang was shocked and hurriedly called his people to take flight.
Ignoring Jilang and the others' actions, Shang Yun's golden orb gradually enlarged, bursting forth with light from between his fingers.
"Kamehameha!"
Shang Yun pushed his hands forward, launching the energy sphere gathered in his palms. The sphere flew towards the stone wall at an extremely high speed, like a shooting star, leaving a long trail in its wake.
"Boom!!!"
The stone wall was instantly shattered and vaporized.
The water rushed down, and water vapor filled the air.
As the steam slowly descended, the Kiraen tribe members stared wide-eyed, mouths agape, dumbfounded and motionless. Lanfang and Nanwu were equally stunned. By this time, Shang Yun and the other two's clothes were soaked through. After a moment, Nanwu reacted, "Shattered! Shattered! All shattered! There's! There's water! Ah! There's water!!!"
Ignoring her shapely figure accentuated by her damp clothes, Lanfang rushed over and hugged Shangyun, who was slumped on the ground from exhaustion.
"Shang Yun! You're amazing!"
Shang Yun was too weak to speak at this point, so he gestured for Lan Fang to put him down and then sat down to meditate and recover.
When Shang Yun fully recovered, he opened his eyes and saw Lan Fang and Nan Wu sitting beside him, but he couldn't see any members of the Kiraen tribe. Upon asking, he learned that these cowardly fellows had run away in fear of being punished by Shang Yun.
The three exchanged a smile and followed the river back to the village. As they approached the village, they heard cheers from afar, presumably because the villagers had already seen the flowing water in the river.
At night, Lanfang brought out various delicacies and celebrated with the villagers until the next day before everyone went to rest.
Shang Yun and Lan Fang did not rest. After saying goodbye to Nan Wu, they continued their journey.
Time flies, seasons change. In the blink of an eye, three years have passed, and it's time for the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.
Shang Yun and Lan Fang arrived at the competition venue early to register, and everyone else was already there. Master Roshi was again impersonating Jackie Chan to participate in the competition, wanting to test his three disciples' abilities. Everyone had registered in advance, except for Goku, who arrived last and almost missed the registration deadline. During their conversation, it turned out that Goku's experiences over the past three years had been incredibly rich; he had actually traveled to the other side of Earth.
At the venue, they encountered another member of the main group, Tien Shinhan. This guy was bald and had three eyes, making him incredibly easy to recognize. He was accompanied by Chiaotzu, and the person leading the group wore a crane hat, had a goatee, wore sunglasses, and was dressed in a green Crane School uniform, giving off a mysterious and evil vibe. This must be Master Shen, who sees Master Roshi as his mortal enemy.
The preliminary round proceeded as normal. Unfortunately for Shang Yun, he encountered Sun Wukong during the preliminary round, and without a doubt, Shang Yun was eliminated.
The eight finalists were Master Roshi, Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, a werewolf, and Babut, a legendary super-genius fighter who had won the World Martial Arts Championship twice.
In the first match of the finals, Yamcha faced Tien Shinhan, a clash between disciples of the Turtle School and the Crane School. The match began with both fighters exchanging blows, their movements fierce and evenly matched, with Yamcha initially holding a slight advantage. Yamcha then unleashed his new Wolf Fang Fist, but Tien Shinhan parried every attack, even landing a punch to Yamcha's stomach. Next, Yamcha used the Turtle School's signature Kamehameha, but Tien Shinhan, instead of dodging, deflected the Kamehameha with his own special technique. Yamcha hastily jumped into the air to avoid it. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Tien Shinhan launched an aerial attack, stunning Yamcha with a single blow. He then went further, breaking Yamcha's leg while he was still unconscious, thus eliminating him from the competition.
The second match was between Werewolf and Master Roshi. From the moment Werewolf entered, he glared fiercely at Master Roshi. It turns out that Werewolf transforms into a human during a full moon, but because Master Roshi destroyed the moon with his Kamehameha during the last martial arts tournament, Werewolf could no longer transform during a full moon, hence his resentment towards Master Roshi. However, the difference in their strength was significant, and Master Roshi easily defeated Werewolf. Afterwards, Master Roshi called Krillin to the stage and had Werewolf hypnotize Krillin's bald head, making the Werewolf believe that Krillin's bald head was the moon. Werewolf finally transformed back into a human and ran away happily.
The third match was between Krillin and Chiaotzu. In the early stages, their punches and kicks were evenly matched, with neither gaining the upper hand. Later, Chiaotzu used the Crane School's signature technique, the Flying Technique, floating through the air and making it difficult for Krillin to land effective blows. He even hovered high above, continuously firing beams of energy at Krillin on the ring. He then used his special ability to inflict constant stomach pain on Krillin while simultaneously attacking him. Later, Krillin discovered that Chiaotzu's special ability required both hands to activate, and since Chiaotzu wasn't good at math, Krillin kept posing questions to him, forcing the simple-minded Chiaotzu to habitually count on his fingers. Taking advantage of this, Krillin kicked Chiaotzu out of the ring.
The fourth match was between Goku and Babut. Babut was hailed as a legendary super-genius fighter, having won the World Martial Arts Tournament twice. However, in the eyes of ordinary people, while he was a martial arts expert, his strength was far inferior to that of the Turtle School and Crane School. At the start of the match, Babut boasted of his immense power in front of Goku, but Goku instantly defeated him with three consecutive elbow strikes, securing the last spot in the semifinals.
