Chapter 108 White-haired Girl
Chapter 108 White-haired Girl
Looking at the empty sword wings, Glenn felt his heart bleed!
There wasn't such a strong emotional reaction back then, since I was mentally prepared, and the Crimson Queen was the primary target to be dealt with, so Glenn was able to accept it.
But once everything had settled down, Glenn felt as if his beloved treasure had been smashed, which made him feel sad.
Gren glanced again at the now-disappeared iconic sword wings, his face twitching involuntarily. He forced himself to cheer up:
"No heartache! No heartache! Out with the old, in with the new. Consider it an upgrade. I have a lot of new ideas now, right? I can just redesign and create an iterative product. Yes! That's good. It saves me from having to think about how to deal with the obsolete products."
After some self-encouragement, Glenn temporarily escaped his dejected mood and then walked towards the hall. The next task was about to begin, and Glenn needed to verify something again.
Looking at his boss's constantly changing expressions, Number One couldn't help but say with sympathy:
"Oh dear! The boss is really losing money hand over fist. He'll have to stay up all night designing plans again. It's so tough. Luckily, I don't have to do any of it myself. Thank goodness!"
At this point, the Sword of Judgment had stopped in orbit around the second planet of this star system, and they would use this as a starting point to begin implementing their plan.
As for why this place was chosen, there are many reasons behind it.
Firstly, the distance to the star here is just right, which is conducive to the absorption of stellar energy and the search for work.
Secondly, the second planet is a rocky planet with abundant internal resources, making it a rare resource-rich planet.
Thirdly, it has a suitable satellite, which is the most important carrier for future plans.
They intend to completely transform it over tens of thousands of years, making it part of the Sword of Judgment.
In short, everything is for the future.
……
The next day, Glenn was about to start his work for the day when he suddenly received a report from Number One that the construct girl who had been brought back had woken up!
Upon hearing this, Glenn immediately put down his work and went to the room prepared for the strange white-haired girl construct.
At this moment, Number One was already quietly waiting for Glenn's arrival outside the door, but there was something strange in his eyes.
Upon seeing this, Glenn asked in surprise:
"What's wrong? Is there a problem inside?"
Number One offered no explanation, only stating:
"Boss, you should take a look for yourself!"
"Pretend to be a ghost!"
Glenn couldn't help but mutter a complaint, then casually opened the door. As for knocking, why would he need to knock on his own door?
Sure enough, as the door to the room opened, Glenn saw a petite white figure floating in the air. Her previously loose white hair was now bound into twin ponytails by black rings, and behind her appeared spherical spikes like those of the Crimson Queen, though there were only four of them.
This is clearly a smaller version of the Blood Red Queen, but now it should be called the White-Haired Queen?
Looking at that petite figure, less than 1.6 meters tall, Glenn suddenly had a strange feeling. So small!
The sound of the door opening startled the bewildered girl, and her pale golden eyes turned toward the source of the sound.
A tall figure clad in strange black armor suddenly appeared in her line of sight, causing her to instinctively take defensive action. Four sharp spikes were positioned in front of her as she moved, ready to attack if Glenn made any unusual move.
Upon seeing this, Glenn smiled slightly, trying his best to appear kind and gentle to show that he was harmless.
Then he spoke:
"You're awake? Is anything bothering you?"
Despite Glenn's apparent sincerity, his unkempt beard and strange tone made one suspect he was some kind of odd uncle with peculiar fetishes.
In an instant, the girl's gaze changed, a cold glint flashing in it, as if she were about to kill this person who clearly wasn't a good person.
Upon seeing this, Glenn's expression changed, and he waved his right hand, creating a void barrier that enveloped the girl.
Then, a series of program inputs caused the girl to instantly lose all her strength and fall straight down.
The girl stumbled, managing not to fall to the ground in a disheveled state. Her eyes widened in surprise, not understanding what had happened.
Glenn breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this. Just as he had guessed, the girl at this moment was not the terrifying Crimson Queen. She was unable to break through the concept of the universe and her power was directly extinguished by Glenn. Both her mechanical and biological energy lost their effect in the void barrier.
At this moment, the girl was like a lamb to the slaughter, at Glenn's mercy. Of course, he had no bad intentions; he just wanted to have a peaceful chat with her.
Seeing this, Glenn waved his hand, and a chair appeared out of thin air under the astonished gaze of the girl opposite him. Glenn sat down naturally and asked with a smile:
"So? Can we talk now?"
The girl must have realized she was now powerless to resist Glenn's methods; her eyes flickered, and her light, melodious voice rang out:
"who are you?"
Upon hearing this, Glenn frowned. He recognized the voice; it was the same voice he had heard before. Glenn then asked:
"Hmm! You don't remember?"
The girl was puzzled and didn't understand Glenn's meaning, so she said again:
"I don't understand what you mean. Who exactly are you?"
She still wanted to know Glenn's identity, and she felt a sense of crisis about it, a feeling she had never experienced before that made her feel uneasy.
Glenn still didn't answer her question, stroking his stubble-covered chin with his right hand, and muttered:
"It seems she knows nothing about what happened to the Crimson Queen, but she was pulled out of its heart, which clearly indicates a close relationship with the Crimson Queen. But that doesn't make sense. The voice I heard earlier was clearly the same as hers, with the same timbre. I couldn't have been mistaken. So what exactly happened?"
The girl didn't understand what Glenn was muttering, but the fact that he had ignored her words time and time again made her, as the former leader of the Ascended Ones, somewhat dissatisfied. You see, during the time when the Punishing Virus infected the world, she was the only overlord, and any infected could be driven by her. She was a true queen. But now someone was ignoring her existence. How could she not be angry?
However, the weakening of her internal strength ultimately left her only able to silently sulk.
As if sensing the girl's unfriendly gaze, Glenn snapped out of his daze and looked at her with a complicated expression, saying:
"Before I tell you who I am, you need to know some things that happened before. This will help you understand what happened between us, don't you think?"
Without giving the girl a chance to ask questions, Glenn had a sudden thought and retrieved a video recording from the database. This was a battle record from the previous recorder, intended for later analysis reports.
Glenn turned on the projection screen and started playing the video. During the video playback, he even moved the projection screen closer to the girl so that she could see it more clearly.
The sudden appearance of the projection made the girl's pupils shrink. Just as she was about to make a move, she was drawn to the content of the video.
Glenn witnessed the girl's transformation from initial confusion to understanding, and then to sorrow.
After a video finished playing, the girl was heard muttering to herself:
"Has it really been that long? She's disappeared too!"
