Chapter 100 Talismans
Chapter 100 Talismans
Rain-Hidden Village.
"Konan, is she still not awake?" Pain frowned as he looked at the person lying on the bed.
"She should be able to wake up today," a woman dressed in a red and black robe with a rose pinned to her purple hair said calmly.
"Konan, did you find anything unusual about this person's body?" Pain asked, realizing that his ninjutsu had no effect on her.
“I couldn’t find anything different.” Konan shook her head, then continued, “Pain, are you sure you want this person to join Akatsuki?”
"Why not kill her? Once she grows up, she might become a threat to you."
"No, I will make her work for me," Pain said confidently.
“But…” Konan was about to say something when Payne interrupted her, “Konan, I know what I’m doing.”
Konan glanced at Pain, her tone returning to its usual indifference, "I understand."
After a long silence, the person on the bed seemed to make a move, and both of their eyes fell on him.
When Gu Xing opened his eyes, he noticed the two people beside him.
"So this is Xiao Nan. She is indeed very beautiful." She looked her up and down and praised her in her heart.
Seeing Pain beside her, she felt a pang of regret. "If Yahiko hadn't died, the two of them would have been a couple."
If she were Edo Tensei Yahiko, who knows what would have happened to Akatsuki.
"This woman, is she thinking of escaping again?" The thought involuntarily arose in Pain's mind as he looked at the silent Lone Star.
Just as he was about to say something, Lone Star pretended to be curious and asked, "Beautiful lady, are you two a couple? You look like a perfect match."
Upon hearing this, both of them were stunned. If Yahiko were still alive, perhaps that would indeed be the case.
Watching Konan's departing figure, Lone Star said to Pain with a look of utter disapproval, "Aren't you going to comfort her?"
"The moment I leave, you'll be running away in the next second, won't you?" Pain sneered.
Lone Star pursed his lips, "Although I have this idea, I'm still injured, so I can only put it aside for now."
Pain spoke up, "Do you think I'd believe your nonsense?"
"Believe it or not." Lone Star rolled his eyes at him.
Suddenly remembering something, she changed the subject, saying, "Let's talk about something. This shouldn't be your body, right?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Lone Star was grabbed by the neck.
"Don't go too far! Believe me or not, I'll take you down with me!"
"Cough...cough..." She fell back onto the bed and glared at him fiercely.
"How much else do you know?" Pain asked sharply, looking at her.
"Come on, this body is so cold, it's obvious it's not a living person. Can't you have some common sense?" Lone Star said somewhat irritably.
I'll reluctantly believe you this once.
"Speak, what do you want to discuss with me?" Pain asked, looking like he was all ears.
"I can revive this body, and you let me go, how about it?" Lone Star dropped a bombshell.
"Are you serious?" His face was full of astonishment.
"Absolutely true." She nodded firmly, then added in her mind, "Impure World Reincarnation is also a kind of resurrection, isn't it?"
Pain was filled with disbelief. Apart from the 'Rinne Rebirth Technique', he simply couldn't believe that there was any other ninjutsu in the world that could revive a person.
"Of course, it's to make up for a small regret in the anime!" Lone Star replied in his heart, but said aloud, "I just couldn't bear to see the beautiful lady sad just now, after all, I'm a chivalrous person."
Pain simply tossed it at her, saying, "I don't believe your eyes!"
After a short while, he continued to ask, "What price do you have to pay to resurrect someone?"
"Just a little bit of lifespan." Lone Star said calmly, looking at the character panel's 'Lifespan: 277'.
"life?"
"Isn't this equivalent to trading one's own life for it? What's the point?"
For some reason, he couldn't bear to see her die.
Gu Xing watched his departing figure, guessing he was going to discuss it with Xiao Nan.
There was one thing she couldn't understand: why didn't Nagato revive Yahiko while he was reviving the Konoha ninja?
Could it be that it's been dead for too long and can't be resurrected?
"I'm having such a headache thinking about this, I'm going to sleep now."
Although she said that, these thoughts only flashed through her mind briefly before she simply made an excuse to go to sleep.
Lone Star looked out the window. "Strange... Is she in Amegakure? The buildings look very similar, but why isn't it raining?"
In the middle of the night, she opened her eyes again.
"Ugh... I don't think I can fall asleep."
"Then recover from your injuries as soon as possible and leave."
She sat cross-legged and began to absorb the spiritual energy in the air.
An hour later, Lone Star stopped.
"Forget it... since it's not my main body, there's not much difference between meditating and automatically healing injuries. I'd better go out for a walk and get some fresh air."
After leaving the room, she turned several corners before finally seeing the exit.
"Oh wow... isn't this the famous scene when Pain made his appearance?"
The only difference is that it's late at night now, so it looks a bit creepy.
"Does Amegakure also have a sky full of stars?" Lone Star walked over and sat down next to Pain, looking up at the sky with surprise in his eyes.
"First time meeting you." Pain looked up at the sky, his tone indifferent.
"How did things go this afternoon?" she asked, admiring the scenery.
"Join the Akatsuki!" He turned and stared at Lone Star, his voice carrying an unquestionable tone.
Lone Star was speechless...
“I refuse to work for anyone unless I become the leader.” She took a deep breath, without even lifting her eyelids, and made up an excuse.
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing..." Gu Xing exclaimed in astonishment as his clothes were suddenly pulled up to his shoulder.
After struggling to no avail, she calmed down and watched to see what Pain was trying to do.
"What is this, a tattoo?" she asked curiously.
Pain glanced at her disdainfully, "A talisman."
"What? You're not trying to control me with this, are you?!" She instantly guessed what the person in front of her was thinking.
“I will never give in,” Lone Star added.
The moment the talisman was formed, Pain's eyes darkened slightly, but he quickly regained his composure and released his grip on the Lone Star.
“This talisman is quite pretty,” Lone Star said, glancing down at the blue teardrop below her collarbone. “But I don’t believe it can control me.”
"When did I say I would control you? I only sealed the flow of chakra within you." Pain looked at Lone Star with the eyes of someone looking at an idiot and continued, "As long as you join Akatsuki, I will undo it for you."
"Impossible!" she said defiantly, secretly trying to circulate her spiritual energy.
"Something's not right. If it's not about blocking the flow of chakra, why is her spiritual power also blocked?"
If she wants to get it off the hook, it will probably take a year and a half.
She would rather dismantle this spiritual clone and reconstruct her original body than waste time on it, but she had finally managed to escape and couldn't bear to part with it.
"Have you made up your mind?" Pain asked again.
"Why are you so persistent? I'll only be a burden to the organization and will never be able to carry out missions," Lone Star advised patiently.
Pain ignored her words and grabbed her hand.
