Chapter 797 The scorching sun comes to support Li Shuwen
Since the other party had sent a task request, Li Shuwen still had to go.
After a layover in Zhuqing City, Li Shuwen quickly arrived in Shuimai City.
Li Shuwen's task was to train new recruits at the water police base.
The Watervein City Marine Police Base is located at the deepest part of the port, with several black buildings built along the coast and the training grounds extending directly to the sea.
When Li Shuwen arrived, all the new marine police officers were already lined up, heads held high, their eyes filled with excitement and anticipation.
"Attention! Salute!"
At the team leader's command, more than twenty new water police officers saluted in unison, their movements perfectly synchronized, showing that they had put in a lot of hard work.
The team leader jogged up to Li Shuwen, his voice booming, "Reporting to King Shuwen, the new recruit training course at the Water Police Base is expected to have 24 participants, and 24 are present. Please give instructions!"
Li Shuwen returned the greeting. "At ease."
He walked to the front of the line, his gaze sweeping over each person's face.
They were all very young, some still carrying the naivety of youth.
He reviewed their training records and found that their skill level was not bad, their foundation was solid, and their attitude was correct, so he didn't need to interfere too much.
But he still had to do something; he couldn't have come all this way for nothing.
He raised his hand and threw a Poké Ball, and the Greatsword appeared from the white light.
The Greatsword Demon placed his claws on the shell sword at his waist, his gaze calm and steady as he stood there without uttering a word.
His aura alone made the group of rookie marine police realize that he was no ordinary man.
The twenty-four rookie marine police officers held their breath, staring at the Pokémon with its upright posture, not daring to utter a sound.
The master's demeanor of the Greatsword Demon was naturally revealed, like a famous sword drawn from its sheath.
"You can all come at me together," Li Shuwen said calmly.
The twenty-four new marine police officers looked at each other, all a little embarrassed to be the first to go.
The bald young man with the loudspeaker was the first to step forward, with Squirtle following at his feet, head held high and claws clenched.
"What are you all afraid of? With Mr. Gold Hand's guidance, we'll definitely become the most powerful water police in all of Canal City, and even the entire Sinnoh region!"
He held up the Poké Ball. "Squirtle, Water Gun!"
Squirtle opened its mouth and fired its water gun at the Greatsword. The others were ignited with enthusiasm and quickly directed their Pokémon forward.
Mosquito coil tadpole, giant tongue clam, giant pincer crab, starfish, urchin, lotus leaf pup, long-winged gull, lobster soldier, swimming ring weasel.
Various Water-type Pokémon jumped out of their Poké Balls, unleashing a barrage of attacks.
Water guns, foam beams, water ripples, water jets, as well as flying leaf blades, air blades, and mud shots.
More than twenty Pokémon, more than twenty different skills, attacked the Greatsword simultaneously from more than twenty angles.
At first glance, it seems to have blocked all of the Greatsword Demon's dodge routes.
However, the Greatsword Demon did not dodge.
The Greatsword Demon suddenly drew his sword and unleashed a Water Wave Blade attack.
The two swords were drawn, blue light flowing along their blades as they were swung out.
The blue light blade drew a perfect circle in the air.
Those water guns, foam beams, water ripples, and water jets were like paper in front of the blue light blade, crumbling at the slightest touch.
The flying leaf blade was shattered, the air blade was deflected, and the mud shot was dispersed.
All his skills were shattered by the Greatsword Demon's single sword strike.
The blue light blade continued its trajectory, flying towards the Pokémon with just the right amount of force.
More than twenty Pokémon fell from the sky like dumplings being dropped into a pot.
Not one was seriously injured, and not one was unable to stand.
Greatsword Demon's control over force was extremely precise.
Little Horn gritted its teeth. "Squirtle, spin fast!"
Jenny turtle retracted into its shell and spun rapidly as it crashed into the Greatsword Demon.
The Greatsword Demon sheathed his sword and sprayed water from his mouth, a jet of water hitting Squirtle's shell precisely.
Squirtle was propelled backward by the water jet, landing in Little Trumpet's arms, rolling twice, and feeling dizzy.
Little Trumpet, holding Squirtle, stood there, stunned.
"Don't be discouraged, try again," Li Shuwen said.
The twenty-odd men rallied and reorganized their attack.
Squirtle's Water Gun, Poliwag's Bubble Beam, Shellder's Ice Spike, Kingler's Pincer Attack, and Starfish's Water Pulse.
The Greatsword drew its swords again, wielding both blades. The blue light blades surged like waves, engulfing the twenty-odd Pokémon once more.
Defeat.
Li Shuwen looked at the Pokémon lying on the ground panting, and the rookie marine police officers slumped on the ground breathing heavily, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
"If you train hard, one day your Pokémon will be as powerful as Samurai."
He looked at Little Trumpet. "Little Trumpet, you've raised Squirtle very well. Evolution is just around the corner, keep it up."
Little Trumpet's eyes welled up with tears. "Thank you, King of Literature!"
Li Shuwen was sitting in the base's lounge when his phone rang.
The screen displays "Brother Sang".
He answered the phone, and Chi Ri's voice came through the receiver, sounding more relaxed than before.
"Shuwen, how have you been lately?"
"I'm fine, but Brother Sang, how have you been lately?"
"I'm fine. The third version of the aromatherapy you researched is very effective. I've been sleeping very well lately."
I've heard about what happened to you.
Li Shuwen raised an eyebrow. "What about me?"
"Those rats in the gutter. I have a lot of business in Veil City, and my family is wealthy. If anything happens in the future, I don't need to worry about the people of Veil City being affected."
"Go ahead and do what you want to do, I'll be there to support you."
Li Shuwen smiled. "Thank you, Brother Sang. But won't this affect your business?"
Chi Ri's voice was laced with disdain. "Don't worry, those rats in the gutter can't possibly stand a chance against our family."
Red Sun has already arranged for Team Galactic to retaliate, and I believe there will be results soon.
Chi Ri paused for a moment. "By the way, the reason I called this time is to invite you to relax on one of my favorite vacation islands."
"Remember to bring your girlfriend. I'll have someone pick you up at the port in Watervein City."
"That island is rather remote, and it's only easily accessible from Waterline City. But you'll definitely love the scenery there."
Li Shuwen asked with interest, "I wonder what kind of island it is?"
Chi Ri smiled. "You'll know when we get there. Don't worry, you can come anytime."
I won't disturb your work anymore.
The phone hangs up.
Li Shuwen dialed Cynthia's number.
"Herona, Brother San invited us to go on vacation. He has an island, and he said the scenery is beautiful."
Cynthia was silent for a moment. "I can finish my work and get to Canal City in two days."
Cynthia had never even been to that island, yet this guy actually suggested that Li Shuwen go there for a vacation.
They were childhood friends, so what was Chi Ri trying to do to her boyfriend?
Li Shuwen nodded repeatedly.
"Okay, see you in two days."
Two days later, at the port of Watervein City.
A white luxury cruise ship was quietly moored at the dock, its streamlined hull gleaming in the sunlight.
Sui Xing stood by the gangway, dressed in a sharp white suit, his hair perfectly styled.
She saw Li Shuwen and Xilona and bowed slightly.
"Mr. Shuwen, Miss Shirona, welcome aboard. Mr. Chiri is already waiting on the island."
The cruise ship sailed out of the port at a high speed, yet remained very stable.
A sea breeze caressed our faces, and seagulls chased each other at the stern of the boat.
Cynthia leaned against the railing, watching the coastline gradually disappear in the distance.
"When did this guy get his hands on a ship like this?"
Li Shuwen stood beside her. "Brother Sang is richer than we thought."
The cruise ship sailed for most of the day, from afternoon to evening, and from evening to night.
As the moon rises, an island appears on the horizon.
The cruise ship docked, and Chi Ri was already standing on the pier waiting.
He was wearing a dark blue casual jacket, his hair was slightly messy from the sea breeze, and he had a faint smile on his lips.
Li Shuwen noticed that his complexion had indeed improved a lot, and he no longer had the gloomy feeling that came from years of sleep deprivation.
"Shuwen, Cynthia, welcome to Moon Island."
Akari turned and led the way. "Let's talk as we walk."
Moon Island is not large, but it has lush vegetation and a rich variety of species.
Flowers that Li Shuwen had never seen before bloomed on the island—red, yellow, purple, and white, a riot of colors and a delightful fragrance.
Li Shuwen's waveguide power spread outwards, and he could feel that the island's life force was quite strong.
The plants, animals, and Pokémon here all live very well.
"This is the Moon Island, where Cresselia, the goddess of dreams, and Darkrai, the goddess of nightmares, roam."
The sound of the blazing sun drifted on the night wind. "With the changing tides, the island's land is under a full moon for half the year and a new moon for the other half."
"It's the new moon now, and Cresselia's power is protecting this island, giving people sweet dreams. It has some effect on me too."
Li Shuwen asked curiously, "Brother Sang, will Darkrai appear during the New Moon?"
Red Sun shook his head. "New Moon and Full Moon only affect which Pokémon's power dominates. In reality, neither type of Pokémon usually appears."
"I've been looking for this island for years, and I've never run into them even once."
Li Shuwen recalled his experience battling Nurse Joy's Darkrai during the Veil Dojo assessment.
That Darkrai left a deep impression on him.
"Darkrai is so cool, I want to catch one."
Cynthia asked, "Is it because of Miss Joy's Darkrai back then?"
Li Shuwen nodded, "Yes, but it's not just Darkrai who's handsome enough."
"Although I feel a little bad for Miss Joey, I still have to say that I don't think Miss Joey has fully demonstrated Darkrai's talents."
"After that battle, I actually had some ideas about training Darkrai, and I communicated with Miss Joy a few times."
"Because of her work, she can't fully dedicate herself to Pokémon training, and she only tries the methods I give her occasionally."
"While it's not entirely accurate, it's about 70-80% effective, so I want to personally capture and train a Darkrai."
"I think you can understand that itchy feeling."
Akari glanced at him and said with a smile, "Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to run into Darkrai on the island."
"Don't rush, you can come and visit this island anytime you have time."
Chi Ri built a luxurious villa in the center of the island, next to a lake with crystal-clear water and a calm, mirror-like surface.
He asked Li Shuwen and Shirona to go boating on the lake.
Li Shuwen and Shirona used foot pedals to slowly row the boat to the center of the lake.
It was very quiet all around, with only the sound of oars cutting through the water and the occasional chirping of birds in the distance.
Several water lilies floated on the lake, their petals shimmering with a soft, silvery-white luster.
Cynthia leaned on Li Shuwen's shoulder, looking at the scenery by the lake.
"There's a really quiet and harmonious atmosphere here."
Li Shuwen nodded. "Yes."
The two nestled together in silence. The boat rocked gently on the water.
In the distance, the lights of the villa were faintly visible through the shadows of the trees.
Further away, the waves crashed against the rocks, making a rhythmic sound.
In the evening, Chi Ri prepared a bonfire party on the open space in front of the villa.
The aroma of roasted meat wafted in the night breeze, and flames crackled and popped as they leaped over the firewood.
Sui Xing was grilling meat on the side, his movements were skillful, and plates of grilled meat skewers were brought out one by one.
Chi Ri opened a bottle of red wine and poured a glass for Li Shuwen and Shirona respectively.
"Try it, I bought this in the Unova region. It's not from a particularly good year, but the taste is good."
Li Shuwen took the wine glass and sipped it. The red wine was rich and had a long finish. "It's really good."
The three of them ate and chatted.
Chi Ri talked about trivial things—the scenery on the island, the books he had recently been reading.
Cynthia occasionally chimed in, and the atmosphere was as relaxed as a typical weekend gathering.
Li Shuwen took a bite of the roasted meat, put it down, raised his head, and looked towards the distant forest.
He sensed it—a unique aura, cold, dark, and carrying an oppressive force that instinctively made him uneasy.
That was the scent of a nightmare.
"It's Darkrai."
Li Shuwen put down his wine glass, stood up, and chased after the forest.
I'm coming to see you!
Cynthia put down her glass. "Shuwen!"
Li Shuwen had already run out; under the moonlight, his figure moved swiftly through the mountains and forests.
Chi Ri also stood up, watching the departing figure, his brows furrowing slightly.
"He said he wanted to capture Darkrai, and I never expected to actually run into him."
The shadows darted swiftly through the forest, moving very fast, but Li Shuwen was even faster.
The power of waveguide locked onto the shadow, and no matter how he turned or accelerated, he couldn't shake off the pursuer.
They chased each other, from the forest to the hillside, and from the hillside to the cliff.
The shadow had nowhere to escape, so it stopped.
Li Shuwen stood on the cliff, with a bright moon behind him.
Darkrai turned around, black smoke swirling around him, his blue eyes gleaming in the smoke.
Darkrai's eyes were cold, arrogant, and haughty.
Darkrai looked at Li Shuwen as if he were looking at an overconfident challenger.
"Darkrai, I will subdue you." Li Shuwen's voice drifted in the night wind.
Darkrai neither answered nor refused.
He simply raised his hand, and a ball of dark energy condensed in his palm.
Evil Wave!
A dazzling black ring shot towards Li Shuwen.
Li Shuwen leaped up, and the black beam of light swept past his feet, blasting a large crater in the rocks behind him.
Li Shuwen threw a Poké Ball into the air, and Sirfetch'd appeared from the white light, his spear pointing diagonally at the ground, his posture calm.
The moonlight shone on him, and his silvery-white feathers gleamed with a cold luster.
Darkrai looked at the green onion soldier with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
Black smoke swirled around him, and the aura of nightmares enveloped the precipice.
He encountered an uninvited guest today, who actually wanted to subdue him.
Darkrai will let this uninvited guest know that the embodiment of nightmares is not so easy to subdue.
Li Shuwen smiled and said, "Darkrai, don't be so short-tempered."
A red light flashed in Darkrai's eyes.
Madness!
