Chapter 40 Bullet Time
Chapter 40 Bullet Time
Mingxin Hospital.
Morgue.
Johnny Wong led his men in quickly, and the waiting security guards swiftly pushed open the hidden door.
Behind the door was not the cramped, secret room one might imagine, but a huge warehouse with a ceiling nearly five meters high and bright lights.
He surveyed his "kingdom": neatly stacked arms boxes, a surveillance wall flashing with signals, and his men waiting in ambush.
"How is the situation?"
"Johnny, the doctors, nurses, and patients have all left the hospital, but our people haven't moved."
"very good."
Johnny walked to the wall of surveillance cameras, found a chair and sat down, then scanned all the cameras with his eyes.
The hospital was quiet, and nothing seemed amiss.
"Did the Fire Services Department say when the drill would end?"
The younger brother glanced at the watch.
"That's about it."
Several more minutes passed, but no one appeared on the surveillance footage.
Johnny Wang frowned, his unease growing stronger with each passing moment.
Finally, a few people appeared on the surveillance footage. They weren't wearing white coats or striped hospital gowns; instead, they were dressed in all black, moving cautiously and looking wary.
Johnny Wang's face darkened.
"Brothers, get moving! The cops have spotted us!"
He just couldn't understand how he had been discovered!
Johnny stood up with a gloomy face, his gaze sweeping over his underlings who were fiddling with their guns.
At that moment, he saw everyone as a mole.
One-Eyed Horseman walked over and whispered.
"I'm leaving."
Johnny Wang didn't respond to him. Instead, he clapped his hands and divided his underlings into two groups.
"You guys, go upstairs and fuck those cops to death!"
"Those who survive will be richly rewarded, and those who die will receive double the resettlement allowance!"
"Does anyone in your group know where those doctors, nurses, and patients are now?"
"I know!"
One of the younger brothers raised his hand.
"The fire department staff told us to evacuate from the assembly point."
"very good!"
Johnny Wang's eyes were cruel.
"Bring plenty of heavy weaponry, rocket launchers, grenades, and all that!"
"Later, you'll go around through the underground parking lot; your target is these doctors, nurses, and patients!"
"Only by capturing them can we have any hope of survival."
"You'll be just like them; if you live, you'll be rewarded, and if you die, I'll take care of your families!"
"Do you understand?"
"Got it, Johnny!"
"Damn these cops!"
Johnny Wang then turned his gaze to the one-eyed dragon and whispered.
"Let's go. You drive later. Once they leave the parking lot, we'll slip away in the chaos."
The one-eyed man gave him a deep look.
I thought I had anticipated Johnny Wong's bottom line, but I still overestimated him.
The underlings, divided into two groups, sprang into action, one heading upstairs and the other to the underground parking lot.
Shortly afterward, gunshots rang out, indicating that a firefight had broken out with the police.
Johnny glanced at the surveillance footage and saw the police officers upstairs being beaten back by his henchmen.
He couldn't help but feel a little smug, knowing that these henchmen were well-equipped and could easily suppress the cops.
Johnny Wang waved his hand at the one-eyed dragon.
"Let's go too."
But after taking only a few steps, the underlings who were originally heading towards the underground parking lot turned back.
"Johnny, someone's blocking our way!"
Upon hearing this, Johnny Wang launched into a tirade of curses.
"Won't they fight back?"
The group of underlings all looked like they'd seen a ghost.
"We didn't see anyone..."
"fart!"
Johnny Wang's expression darkened; he didn't believe such nonsense.
These guys only made up this excuse because they're afraid of dying.
"Rinse them all!"
Johnny Wang roared angrily.
One-Eyed Dragon raised his gun at the opportune moment and sized up his underlings one by one.
The underlings exchanged glances, about to say something.
"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out, and immediately one of the henchmen fell to the ground.
The underlings immediately started shouting and yelling.
"That's it!"
"Run! There's a ghost!"
A gunshot rang out, and immediately one of the henchmen fell to the ground with a clean, bloody hole in his temple.
The underlings immediately started shouting and yelling.
"That's it!"
"Run! There's a ghost!"
"Don't move!" the one-eyed man shouted.
His single eye was fixed on the door leading from the armory to the underground parking lot.
There was a fresh, curved scratch on the door frame, as if something had turned at an impossible angle.
Another gunshot rang out, and another henchman fell.
Now everyone noticed that the gunshots came from outside the door, but the dead person was inside!
Johnny Wang finally realized what was happening, and his face turned from anger to pale.
He suddenly grabbed a submachine gun from the ammunition box, walked to the door, and opened fire on the underground parking lot.
The bullets pierced a row of holes in the concrete pillars and the car, but there was no sound of them hitting anything.
His response was a third gunshot.
This time, the bullet's trajectory was much clearer.
It first shot towards the ceiling, sparking a cluster of sparks on the concrete, then turned at a right angle downwards, precisely piercing through a henchman hiding behind a metal cabinet.
A trickle of blood spurted from the younger brother's skull, and before he could even show a surprised expression, he slumped to the ground.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"
Gunfire began to ring out at a steady pace, each shot accompanied by the taking of a life.
Johnny Wang leaned against a wooden crate filled with grenades, panting heavily.
His suit was soaked with cold sweat, and his hand holding the gun was trembling.
A bullet grazed his cheek and killed the henchman behind him.
"come out!"
Johnny roars.
"Get out here, you bastard!"

[Skill Card: Bullet Time (From your perspective, enemies appear slower; from the enemy's perspective, your bullet-pew-pew speed becomes absurdly fast. PS: This skill card is a one-time use card.)]
[Card duration remaining: 60 seconds, 59 seconds...]
In the shadows, Chen Yuan let out a soft breath.
The frequent use of his ability made him somewhat uncomfortable, but at the moment the ability was activated, the world was so clear—the trajectory of every speck of dust falling, the slight tremor of muscles on every terrified face, the golden arc drawn in the air by every bullet fired.
[Card duration remaining: 58 seconds, 57 seconds...]
Johnny Wong's one-eyed henchman emerged with two underlings, flanking him from three directions.
too slow.
Chen Yuan repeatedly pulled the trigger of the Golden Desert Eagle.
The bullet leaves the chamber.
In his field of vision, the bullet made a sharp turn around the concrete pillar.
Immediately afterwards, the one-eyed man and his two henchmen froze, and two seconds later they collapsed to the ground.
The armory was deathly silent. The emergency lights flickered, casting an inconspicuous glow over the space filled with corpses.
Johnny Wang leaned against the wooden crate, a grenade already in his hand, his thumb against the safety pin.
His eyes were bloodshot, and he was breathing heavily.
Before the mastermind was even seen, everyone was already dead.
Does this world really have ghosts?!
"Bang!"
The gunshot rang out for the last time.
