Narcissa blushed instantly, coughed, and put down her dessert fork.
"How is it, Mrs. Malfoy? Are you satisfied?" Lucas asked with a smile.
Narcissa had reverted to her haughty demeanor: "There are two more drinks; I need to try them both before I can give my opinion!"
She heard a murmur of conversation around her, realizing they had witnessed her earlier lapse in composure. She instantly flew into a rage and glared fiercely at Lucas.
You filthy Muggle! Stop being so smug!
Cucumber yogurt cold soup... Heh, as soon as you serve it up, there will be a fatal problem, and it will definitely make you slink away in disgrace!
Lucas took two glass bowls from the cart, carefully wiped them with a napkin, and then opened two large ice buckets.
A wisp of icy mist instantly condensed and flowed down, spreading a cool breeze. People who had been watching for a while in the summer heat couldn't help but swallow hard.
"First up is a savory cucumber yogurt cold soup."
Narcissa gave a cold laugh.
The milky white soup, tinged with emerald green, was ladled from the ice bucket and poured into a glass bowl. Thick and glistening on the sides, it resembled flowing white jade. Lucas gently ran a silver spoon across the surface, garnished it with a few fresh mint leaves, and then placed it on a tray before presenting it to Narcissa.
"It's just cucumber soaked in yogurt, maybe with a few mint leaves. Is that even food?" Draco said sarcastically, trying to help his mother attack Lucas.
But Narcissa reached out and patted him on the shoulder, stopping him from continuing.
Draco looked at his mother in surprise, and Lucas shook his head: "It seems you don't understand food. Cucumber yogurt cold soup and cucumber yogurt are completely different things."
Narcissa said coldly, "You have no right to be smug. Knowing the difference doesn't mean you can do it well. Especially one of the ingredients, which can have disastrous consequences."
"Oh dear!" the fat witch exclaimed softly. "Oh no, I remember now. I've made cucumber yogurt soup at home before, and what Mrs. Malfoy was referring to was—garlic!"
Cucumber yogurt cold soup is a soup, with garlic as its finishing touch. However, the presence of garlic leaves a lingering taste in the mouth, which is absolutely intolerable to ladies of leisure.
In other words, letting Narcissa taste cucumber yogurt cold soup was an absolutely wrong choice!
The stall owners immediately tensed up. Lucas's performance had already astonished them, and they even thought it might actually be possible to gain Mrs. Malfoy's approval. But now—
"Mrs. Malfoy, as I said before, you can't speak carelessly without tasting it," Lucas said, holding the tray. "Why don't you smell it first?"
Narcissa snorted and, with impeccable poise, picked up the bowl, brought it to her nose, and tilted it slightly.
The expected garlic aroma didn't appear. Instead, a refreshing cucumber scent wafted up, followed by the mild and rich lactic acid of yogurt, and finally, fragrant mint and dill, a fresh and lingering herbal fragrance.
So you simply didn't add garlic? That won't do either! Garlic flavor is the soul of this cold soup! You've already lost if you don't add it!
You think you can beat me, you little brat?
She gave Lucas a disdainful look, but Lucas simply gestured for her to proceed.
Narcissa gritted her teeth, finally scooped up a small spoonful with a silver spoon, and demurely put it into her mouth.
She paused. Draco asked anxiously, "Mom? How is it? Is it too bad to speak?"
Draco and Narcissa didn't answer. Under the shocked gazes of Draco and the onlookers, she silently scooped up another spoonful, and then a third...
It's not that there's no garlic! Quite the opposite, the garlic flavor is tamed to an extremely mild level, weaving together the tastes of cucumber, yogurt, mint, and dill, enhancing the aftertaste of the cold soup. Most importantly, it leaves no unpleasant pungent aftertaste!
"How did you do that?" Narcissa put down her spoon, her voice losing its usual haughty tone for the first time.
Lucas answered quite frankly: "I soaked the garlic cloves in milk at a low temperature for twelve hours."
This answer made Narcissa's pupils dilate.
The wizards couldn't help but discuss it amongst themselves, with many showing expressions of amazement.
These techniques and tips are enough to be considered secret recipes, but now this child is so openly and directly revealing them!
Harry and Hagrid exchanged a glance; Hagrid's face lit up with surprise, while Harry was filled with admiration.
"Finally, there's a bowl of chilled strawberry and mint soup."
Narcissa no longer held any contempt in her heart; she was determined to find Lucas's oversight in this soup.
However, the aroma of fresh strawberries, with a hint of vanilla warmth and lemon crispness, wafts over you, and this bowl of chilled sweet soup is as clear as a translucent pink amber, without a trace of impurity.
Take a small sip, and the ultimate refreshing sensation explodes in your mouth, instantly dispelling the summer heat.
Especially after tasting the fried Spanish churros and the savory cucumber yogurt cold soup, this smooth and sweet flavor was elevated even further.
This little brat, did he even consider this?
Narcissa had to taste it spoonful by spoonful, trying to find any flaws.
"Strawberries, lemons, limes, vanilla pods, mint..." she recited the ingredients accurately, "and even used a drip filtration method to clarify the strawberry juice..."
Lucas nodded approvingly: "Mrs. Malfoy is indeed an expert in gourmet food."
To Narcissa, this praise sounded like sarcasm. She couldn't find a single flaw in it, not even the slightest imperfection!
Finally, Lucas said softly, "There's one last ingredient, a little something of my own, but Mrs. Malfoy doesn't seem to have tasted it?"
Narcissa blushed. She knew Lucas was right; the whole bowl of strawberry soup had a subtle, lingering fragrance, but it was so well blended that she couldn't quite place what it was.
Narcissa tried to take another spoonful, but the scraping sound of the silver spoon against the glass bowl was so jarring that it drew everyone's attention.
"You've finished it all!" Harry shouted.
Narcissa's ears were burning; she desperately wanted another bowl, but couldn't bring herself to ask. She could only look at Lucas. Everyone else looked at Lucas, awaiting his answer.
"Wait a moment, you can try it yourselves," Lucas laughed, taking off his chef's hat, his brilliant red hair burning like flames in the sunlight.
"Then, Mrs. Malfoy, please give your opinion. Was my meal truly coarse and unpalatable?"
A large crowd had already gathered outside the stall, all eyes fixed on Narcissa Malfoy.
She involuntarily took a step back, gritted her teeth, glanced at her husband's gloomy face, and then pulled the bewildered Draco closer.
No matter what, I must create some problems and strike at this lowly racist brat!
however--
"Mrs. Malfoy, please speak. I've always enjoyed your program," the fat witch suddenly said. "Everyone's listening. I'll have a copy later and see if I can learn anything from you."
The skinny wizard immediately understood and exclaimed, "Yes, Mrs. Malfoy. After you've given your critique, we'll all try it and learn from it to make our own food even better."
The wizards watching nodded in agreement, but Narcissa's face turned pale instantly.
Damn it!
If I offer unrealistic criticisms, these wizards will find out after tasting it that it's not the case at all. This would not only be a huge blow to my food column, but the rumors would also damage the Malfoy family's reputation!
She opened her mouth, but couldn't say anything for a moment. She could only look to Lucius for help.
Lucius walked over silently, leaning on his cane.
"What do you think you're doing!" Hagrid shouted, blocking his way. "Everyone can see it! You lost! Lucas won!"
Lucius scoffed and walked past him, saying, "Enough. Who do you think the Malfoy family is?"
He walked up to the stall, gently placed a Galleon on the ground, and a smile suddenly appeared on his pale face.
"Lucas McGregor, it's clear you have excellent culinary skills. I take back my wife's criticism."
"You are truly a promising young talent. If the opportunity arises, I would be delighted to invite you to my manor to showcase your even more exquisite work to the elite of the magical world."
What?!
The Malfoy family acknowledged that Lucas's snacks were excellent and wanted to invite him to join them!
The wizards, who were watching with bated breath, couldn't help but gasp in amazement.
Harry cheered and clapped enthusiastically, and then a burst of applause gradually rang out!
