Chapter 16 The Meaning of a Kiss
Chapter 16 The Meaning of a Kiss
"Is there a problem?" Kasumigaoka Utaha asked calmly, meeting Toki's gaze.
"There is indeed a problem," Shi Chen nodded.
Don't overthink it.
Kasumigaoka Utaha smiled gently: "You're my first fan. Isn't it normal for me to care about my fans' love lives?"
"Are there really authors this good?"
"Of course there is. And as a novelist, isn't it normal to be a little curious? Learning more might even help with writing books."
"That makes sense. If that's what you say, then I have nothing to say in rebuttal."
"That's fine then. Go ahead and get busy. The guests are here, and I need to focus on writing my book." Kasumigaoka Utaha seemed to be rushing through the time.
"Can we write normally now?" Shi Chen asked with a mischievous grin.
"..." Kasumigaoka Utaha glared at him, embarrassed and annoyed.
"Haha, then take your time writing, I really can't wait."
"I understand!" Kasumigaoka Utaha's tone was a bit fierce, clearly showing that she was embarrassed and angry.
Shi Chen didn't mind; in fact, he found it cute. However, a little teasing was fine, but too much teasing would hurt their relationship, which wasn't that good yet.
Know when to stop while you're ahead.
Without further ado, I got up to greet the guests.
The coffee shop was very quiet all morning, but it was noticeably busier than the previous few days, since the students were on break.
Many female students come here in groups to drink coffee.
Shi Chen simply couldn't believe that female students would like to drink coffee. This stuff is the exclusive drink of white-collar workers. He was too lazy to even bother to find out why they were there.
Anyway, it's pretty good.
He not only received the money, but also felt quite pleased with himself.
Shi Chen is still enjoying the attention his appearance brings him, and before he gets used to it, he definitely wants to savor it.
Around noon, the coffee shop was a bit noisy, and Kasumigaoka Utaha couldn't concentrate on her writing, so she took a short break.
Shichen then invited her to have lunch with the two of them, and she agreed, though Thor was a little unhappy.
It's not that she was unhappy, but rather that she was hostile towards Kasumigaoka Utaha. She stopped eating properly and kept glancing at her.
However, Kasumigaoka Utaha ignored her completely, eating her meal quietly and elegantly, and even praising the food.
Unfortunately, Thor wasn't in the mood to appreciate it.
Shichen ate his meal quietly, just like Kasumigaoka Utaha, without even looking at the two of them. Since the two of them wouldn't start arguing, he had a clear conscience.
If someone isn't enthusiastic about eating, there's something wrong with their thinking.
Thor was as if she were isolated, but she was completely unaware of it. She was too naive; once she set her mind on something, she didn't care about anything else.
Lunch was barely acceptable; there were far fewer customers in the restaurant, and Kasumigaoka Utaha went back to writing.
Shichen accompanied Thor in the kitchen to wash the dishes; Thor was in charge of washing, and he was in charge of wiping them clean.
Having just washed a dish, Thor couldn't help but ask again, "Lord Time, you really won't get bored with the old and crave the new, will you?"
"Thor, you must believe in your own charm." Shi Chen patiently comforted her. He could indeed sense Thor's unease, which was why he was here with her.
"But that place called Kasumigaoka is also very pretty..." Thor pouted and replied uncertainly.
"But aren't you prettier than her?" Shichen asked with a smile.
"Does Lord Shichen really think so?" Thor couldn't hide his joy.
"Really." Shichen nodded earnestly: "Thor is truly very beautiful."
He wasn't lying; Tohru's appearance completely surpasses that of Kasumigaoka Utaha.
Kasumigaoka Utaha is very beautiful and has all the charms a woman should have, but she can only rank among the top humans.
Thor, on the other hand, is different. She is a dragon in disguise. Whether it is her amazing transformation skills or her true beauty as a dragon, her human appearance is fixed. Her features are incredibly exquisite, like a dreamlike human with added beauty filters and special effects, flawless.
How can Kasumigaoka Utaha compare?
As long as she is human, she cannot compare.
"Lord Time isn't lying to me, is he?" Thor couldn't help but smile, but he was still a little insecure.
He's clearly a dragon, with an extraordinary status, yet he's so anxious and insecure because of him.
Shi Chen felt it was necessary to help her build complete self-confidence, but this was something that depended on her own mindset and awareness. How could he help her?
There is a fairly obvious solution.
Without hesitation, Shichen put down the plate in his hand and approached Thor.
"Lord Time?" Thor blinked, looking at him temptingly.
Shi Chen didn't answer, but instead reached out and cupped her plump face. Just as she was about to panic, he kissed her right cheek.
Thor was stunned. She stared blankly at the time, forgetting to blink and forgetting to breathe.
"Don't be silly." Shi Chen smiled and shook his head, releasing her.
"Now you believe me, right?"
"I... Lord Time... so suddenly..." Thor was a little incoherent, but her rosy cheeks and overflowing smile proved her feelings at this moment.
"Don't you like surprises? Isn't a surprise better?"
"I'm not prepared at all..."
What do I need to prepare for just a kiss on the cheek?
"I can turn my face so that Lord Shichen can kiss me directly."
"...I shouldn't have kissed you!"
"Eh? Lord Shichen, I was wrong~ Can we do it again? This time, kiss the other side, so it's more symmetrical."
Shi Chen remained expressionless: "We already kissed the other side last time."
"I don't remember."
"You really are... Never mind, I shouldn't have comforted you. I'm leaving!" Shi Chen shook his head and left directly.
"Lord Shichen, please don't!"
Thor reached out to stop him, but Shichen left the kitchen without looking back.
Thor is too easily inflated with pride; she is genuinely uneasy, yet also genuinely proud. He needs to calm her down.
But Thor was far from calm. Even though Shichen treated her coldly, she still smiled broadly, one hand unconsciously touching her right cheek as she giggled foolishly.
We've kissed both cheeks, so how far away can we be from kissing the middle?
Thor was already starting to look forward to it.
When he returned to the cashier, he was naturally not angry. He was no longer worried about Thor; the kiss had a very noticeable effect.
Girls in the world of anime and manga treat kisses differently. They look forward to being kissed by the person they like, not because they have a need for it, nor because they want it, but because of the meaning that a kiss represents.
A kiss is not about satisfying desires, taking advantage, or foreplay; it's about expressing your liking and love.
Kissing someone means you like her and love her.
Therefore, being kissed is a very happy thing.
This is why so many people love anime and manga; the things in it are beautiful and innocent, inspiring longing in people.
Shichen's kiss wasn't for nothing; he did like Thor, but it also served to comfort her.
Fortunately, it was just a kiss on the cheek, which did not betray his pure affection.
In the afternoon, the coffee shop is quiet and relaxing, filled with the rich aroma of coffee and a unique calming atmosphere, making it hard to leave.
Kasumigaoka Utaha focused on writing all afternoon and finally finished the first volume of her first novel.
Since Shichen didn't have a cell phone, the two didn't exchange any contact information. Kasumigaoka Utaha simply handed her notebook to Shichen and hurriedly left.
The retreating figure was clearly embarrassed to see him reading her novel in front of Shichen.
Most people are like this when they first start writing novels; they don't care about strangers, but they're embarrassed to show them to acquaintances.
Tokichi expressed his understanding of Kasumigaoka Utaha's behavior because he had been through it all.
He had previously wanted to pursue a relaxed life of staying home and writing novels, but due to limited talent, he gave up soon after and joined the ranks of office workers.
Looking back, I should thank myself for my limited talent; otherwise, if I had stayed at home all this time, I might not have been able to be brought into the world of anime by a meteorite.
If he stays at home all the time, who knows if his phone will get a virus and he'll get an opportunity to use it?
Now that I feel happy, I naturally want to thank my past self.
Shichen didn't rush to read Kasumigaoka Utaha's novel. Instead, he put his notebook away, planning to enjoy it properly tomorrow.
Tonight he's going to renovate his study. He's already bought a lot of things, except for the essentials—novels and comics.
Now that novels are available, it's definitely more appropriate to read them in the study; the atmosphere is very important.
That evening, with Thor's help, Shichen easily finished decorating his study, though it was a bit empty.
The bookshelf is empty, the desk is empty, there's just a notebook; I'll have to find some time to fill it up.
I wonder if there are any good novels or comics in this world.
I'm really looking forward to the timing.
Thor was also looking forward to it, but it was definitely different from what he was looking forward to; it was something to do at night.
Because she helped, she was able to sleep with Shichen again, something he had personally promised.
The last night?
This statement only has a one-night time limit.
