Chapter 37: The Dark Guild
Chapter 37: The Dark Guild
In the alley, Moen stopped and turned around to look behind him. Three figures were frantically trying to find cover to hide behind.
"Come out! Is that kind of sneaky, covert tracking what you call tracking? Are you afraid I won't find out? Please be more serious when you do things."
Looking at the three people, Moen couldn't help but make a comment.
"I told you there was no need to hide it!"
"Just go up there and take him down!"
"It's all Karaka's fault! He insisted on doing it!"
After being criticized by Moen, the three people started blaming each other, but as they talked, they also surrounded Moen.
Among the three, a thin young man with black hair and white clothes, whose hairstyle resembled a pineapple, stepped forward and started spouting nonsense at Moen.
"Kid, if you know what's good for you, hand over the stuff, or we'll teach you a lesson."
The young man didn't look much older than Moen, appearing to be only seventeen or eighteen years old. He gave off a comical feeling of deliberately trying to appear mature. The other two were about the same age.
"Old man? Hmph, you've already chosen your own path to death!"
Moen didn't bother to waste any more words with these guys. He had already seen that they were all members of the Dark Guild, and judging from the insignia, they should belong to "Iron Forest".
"What arrogance!"
Among the three, a man wearing a yellow and black striped sweater and holding a black whip spoke angrily, then swung the whip, which extended directly towards Moen.
"Snapped!"
In an instant, the blue gauntlets were donned on Moen's hands. He grabbed the black rope and pulled it back with a sudden burst of strength.
Caught off guard, the young man holding the black rope was pulled to the ground and slid across the floor, being dragged right in front of Moen.
"boom!"
Moen quickly donned his leg armor and kicked out, striking the young man squarely in the abdomen.
The young man, holding the black rope, flew out, but he stubbornly refused to let go of the rope. So after he flew out, Moen pulled the rope again, pulling his body back.
"boom!"
The young man fell heavily to the ground, his body trembling, his eyes wide open, and his body hunched over like a boiled shrimp.
"Rayle!"
This happened in the blink of an eye, catching the remaining two completely off guard.
Although Rayleigh is always impulsive, his black rope magic is good at striking first and catching people off guard. This often gives them an advantage at the beginning of the battle, and everyone has gotten used to this.
But this time, they've really messed up; they've met a tough opponent. Moen isn't going to put up with these guys at all.
"Is this all you've got? Then both of you come at me together, I'm in a hurry."
Moen placed one foot on Rayleigh's head, then pointed a finger at the two opposite him, his face showing disdain.
At this moment, Moen had already donned the Equuleus Bronze Cloth. This function of automatically donning the Cloth at any time was truly impressive, as convenient as a costume-changing spell.
"asshole!"
The pineapple-headed youth gritted his teeth and slammed his fist on the ground. The shadows on the ground surged and then quickly attacked Moen, the two fists formed by the shadows moving fiercely.
"Shadow magic?"
Moen jumped back, easily dodging the attack. The two shadow fists missed their mark. With quick reflexes, Moen immediately used the rope in his hand to tie the two shadow fists together, which startled the pineapple-headed youth.
However, after he dispelled the magic, the shadow lost its physical form, immediately freed from its restraints, and quickly returned to the feet of the pineapple-headed youth.
"Kagayama! Something's wrong with this guy!"
Piado spoke with a serious expression. Even if he were slow-witted, he could tell that the boy in front of him was very strong, extremely strong! Completely different from what they had initially expected!
Their attacks couldn't even touch this guy, how were they supposed to fight him?!
"Let's retreat!"
Piado looked at the pineapple-headed Kagayama, who looked unwilling and clearly did not want to leave like this.
"What will happen to Rayleigh if we leave?"
Kagayama looked at his companion, who was still lying dead on the ground, with a gloomy face.
"Who cares what happens?! If we don't leave now, we might all get trapped too!"
Piado looked at Kagaya with a puzzled expression. They were a dark guild, so when did they learn this "unwavering loyalty" act? Shouldn't this be the time to betray their teammates?
If Kagayama doesn't leave soon, Piado will sell him out too, since he's already decided to give up on the mission anyway.
The group of them waited at the station, their clear goal being to block Moen. They weren't there out of boredom or to cause trouble.
They had accepted a mission to sabotage Denor's mission and intercept all the "magic horns" he wanted, which is why they had been waiting here for Moen to return.
This is the Dark Guild. Most of the quests posted in their guild hall are like this, such as sabotaging other people's quests, kidnapping, assassination, etc., which are never anything good.
"Walk!"
Although Kagayama was unwilling, he did not persist. The two turned around and retreated, abandoning their companion.
"Want to run away? You'll have to get my permission first."
Seeing that the two were about to run away, Moen sneered, "You want to fight, you want to run away, do you think I have no dignity?"
Moen had no sympathy for these bastards who didn't care about the lives of their companions, and he was determined not to let them get away today.
"Buzz!"
With magic surging, Moen launched an attack. He was actually a little excited, as this was the first time he had encountered someone from the Dark Guild, and the first time he had truly fought to the death with someone.
In the past, when sparring with other members of the guild, I always held back a little, for fear of actually hurting them.
But now, there's no need to hold back at all; these members of the dark guild can be killed without consequence.
According to the laws of the Kingdom of Fiore and the entire continent of Ishgar, they are treated as the most heinous criminals. It is better to capture them alive, but there is no crime in killing them, and even killing them is a merit.
"Prepare to die! Pegasus... Meteor Fist!"
Moen swiftly appeared in front of Kagayama, his fists flashing as he landed blow after blow on Kagayama.
"boom!"
The young man was sent flying backward, his eyes wide open. He still had a trump card up his sleeve, and he felt that he still had a fighting chance!
However, the pain radiating from his body completely overwhelmed him. He collapsed heavily to the ground, his vision blurring, his mind becoming unclear, and his consciousness gradually fading away...
'So this is a mage from a major guild? That's practically cheating...'
In the end, Kagayama felt a deep sense of resentment.
