"It's definitely a big one. This is much bigger than the previous two. Could it be that they've gotten impatient after failing so many times?"
Moen went to the window and looked out. He couldn't help but frown. He had triggered a system task. It was no small trouble. The previous two "Anima" events were not as big as this one.
Upon closer examination, with Mystogan single-mindedly focused on stopping "Anima," the success rate of this magic is indeed not very high.
If this continues, it's no wonder the people on Edolas' side are getting anxious; they're still waiting for the magic to be used here.
"I'll see you off first."
Moen grabbed King Thomas's shoulder, preparing to take him to a safe place first. There was no one left in the "Palace of Lights" in Melukrias except for the two of them.
"No, I will stay! I will live and die with Crocus!"
King Thomas shook his head firmly, his face full of excitement. This was the magical event he had always dreamed of participating in!
Although he himself couldn't contribute much to magic, he had contributed to something else this time. Now he wanted to stay and witness the outcome of the whole thing, to witness the conclusion of this major event, and to participate fully!
"."
Moen looked at King Thomas with a very strange expression. Most people are like Lord Ye who loved dragons but was terrified of them, like the classic saying, "They are loyal when they are told, but they will not go when asked."
It is indeed very rare to find someone like King Thomas who is interested in magic, in the adventures of mages, and willing to risk his life to stay and participate in the whole event.
"But no, Emerald is still young. You can't hand over these responsibilities to her so early."
Moen smiled and shook his head, still holding onto King Thomas as they left the "Palace of Lights" in Meluklias, instantly teleporting outwards without giving King Thomas a chance to object.
For anyone else, keeping them would be fine, but not for King Thomas. This guy has an inescapable responsibility. If he dies, that responsibility will fall on Emerald prematurely. In order for his apprentice to have more time to grow, Moen certainly cannot leave this guy in the city.
Once they reached the outskirts of the city, Moen dropped off King Thomas and gestured for him to board the Raven Plane.
"Mr. Moen! You should let me stay! With you here, with Fairy Tail, even if I die, Emerald won't be bullied."
Once placed on the ground, King Thomas stomped his short legs, looking very anxious; he seemed genuinely eager to participate.
"Stop talking nonsense and give the jade more time to grow. That's your mission."
Without any hesitation, Moen shoved King Thomas into the Raven plane, then ordered it to take off, carrying the clamoring King Thomas away.
"This Thomas."
Moen shook his head. He had no doubt that if Emerald were even slightly capable of shouldering responsibility, Thomas would definitely abdicate without hesitation, leaving the duties of king to his daughter, and then go off to enjoy himself. That was something he was absolutely capable of doing.
"Buzz!!!"
The intense magical fluctuations interrupted Moen's thoughts. Inside the royal city of Crocus, the magic circle that Mystergang had set up earlier took effect. Under Mystergang's control, it began to prevent the "Anima" from taking effect, resisting this evil magic from Edolas.
Moen didn't linger; he immediately returned to the city and went to find Mystergang.
At this moment, Mistgang was standing in the center of a pre-arranged magic circle. Although he could not use magic himself, or even had any magical power, he was highly skilled in the study of various magic circles and could be considered a genius.
"Buzz!"
Mystogan used the magic of his wand to activate the magic circle. Looking at the vortex in the sky, he also noticed that the range of this "Anima" was exceptionally large, which might be due to another breakthrough in this magic. This made him feel a sense of urgency.
"We must find a solution quickly!"
If this continues, this "Anima" will only become more and more difficult to deal with!
"I'll help you!"
Moen teleported to Mystogan's side and stood with him, looking up at the vortex in the sky. He was actually quite curious whether there was another version of himself in that "Edras" world.
Logically, there should be one, since he was essentially a soul transmigrated into the body of an infant, growing up little by little and becoming no different from the indigenous people. Therefore, there should also be a "him" in another world.
Of course, that "he" should only correspond to the original infant. Moen didn't think his soul could be split into two parts and travel to the world of "Edras".
"Buzz!!!"
Moen channeled his magic, communicating with the stars in the heavens, preparing to see if he could help with a move that would "overpower all magic with sheer force."
"Moen? What are you going to do?"
Mistgang, who was activating the formation, looked at Moen beside him with some surprise, because Moen had already taken a stance there.
"Of course, we should try to see if there are any other ways to crack this thing."
Moen answered matter-of-factly. Mystogan used a magic circle to reverse and resist the absorption effect of "Anima," which was certainly a good method and proved that Mystogan was on the right track. Now that he could resist the absorption of "Anima," he could further research a magic circle that could directly take him to "Edras."
Moen really couldn't be of much help in this regard. He didn't know much about these things, and even if he did, it wouldn't be of much use. He could only ask Warren for help with the phone manufacturing project he was so eager to pursue.
But not being good at magic circles doesn't mean he can't help. Moen's main strength is his powerful brick-throwing attack. If he's strong enough, he might be able to smash this bullshit "Anima" with one punch.
"This is too reckless! Too dangerous! We might get sucked in!"
Upon hearing Moen's words, Mistgang's expression changed. He quickly advised Moen that there was no need to use such a dangerous method, that he could handle it himself, and that there was no need to take such a risk.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. This thing can't suck me in."
Moen smiled. At this moment, the sky was already twinkling with stars. He connected with all the constellations he had linked, frantically absorbing the magic power of the stars, concentrating all his power into this one punch. And on his body, the turquoise "Dragon Bronze Cloth" was already on.
In Mistgang's eyes, a phantom image flickered on Moen's body; it was a ferocious blue dragon, its phantom coiled around Moen's body and around his arm.
"If you don't want magic, then I'll let you absorb as much as you want!"
Moen smiled. He had already seen that the vortex had absorbed a lot of the star magic he had drawn down. Some of the star magic falling from the sky had indeed been intercepted by this vortex.
Such pure magic power was very tempting to the vortex, but unfortunately, with Mystogan stopping "Anima", the vortex could not exert much effect at all, at most absorbing some residue.
"Buzz!!!"
Starlight shimmered around Moen as he soared into the sky, his figure hurtling towards the vortex, leaving a trail of silver light. Gazing at the vortex, Moen swung his right fist, unleashing terrifying magical power.
"Lushan Rising Dragon Fist!"
"hold head high!!!"
A dragon's roar resounded, and terrifying magic transformed into a giant dragon that flew out from Moen's right arm. The dragon's body was so huge that it covered the sky and gradually stretched out as it flew, revealing its majestic true form. The ferocious blue dragon roared and crashed directly into the vortex in the sky, as if it wanted to tear the vortex to pieces.
"boom!!!"
The Azure Dragon crashed into the vortex, creating a deafening roar. The resulting explosion turned the entire sky a vibrant blue-green.
"this"
Mystogan's eyes widened, feeling a tremendous shock. This guy, Moen, was unbelievably strong. Was this really an attack a human could unleash? Was this Protoss magic?
"What is that?!"
At this time, there were still many people remaining in the royal city. Of course, after they actually saw "Anima", they were no longer stubborn and began to flee one by one. After all, the terrifying celestial phenomenon was indeed frightening. "Destruction of the royal city" was no longer an empty promise, but was already imminent, which frightened them greatly.
The dragon's roar, the deafening sound, and the azure sky made them dare not linger for even a moment, each of them wishing they had eight legs.
It might worry Moen, but although these people weren't hurt by "Anima," quite a few were injured by their own people while trying to escape. If this breaks the "perfect rescue," Moen will be furious with these guys who only know how to hold us back.
"The anima has dissipated."
Looking at the green sky, Mistgang was stunned for a moment. He stopped outputting magic power, and the magic circle stopped working, because "Anima" had dissipated, because of that punch.
"Was it because it absorbed enough magic power? Or was it truly shattered by that punch?"
Mystergan was puzzled, because in his perception, many of the azure dragons that were unleashed by that punch seemed to have entered the vortex.
"Let them absorb it. I want to see if they can actually use it. My Star Magic isn't something just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can use."
Moen landed back on the ground, shook his arms. That last blow was really fierce; he felt like he was about to be burst by the Star Magic.
That punch felt incredibly satisfying, giving him a sense of mental release. Moen even felt like he was controlling the Azure Dragon.
