Marvel Universe: Chapter 842 You're Worth the Price
Magneto, whose real name is Max Eisenhardt.
He was born in the late 1920s into a middle-class Jewish family in Germany; his father was a World War I veteran. In 1939, with the outbreak of World War II, Marx and his family were sent to the Warsaw Ghetto. They briefly escaped but were betrayed and re-arrested.
During this time, his mother, father, and sister were all killed and buried in a mass grave, and he was the only one who survived.
However, luck did not favor him again. After his lucky escape, Marx was captured once more and sent to Auschwitz concentration camp, where he served as a detachment member, responsible for handling the dead in the camp.
In the concentration camp, the young Marx fell in love with Magda, a Roman girl. They escaped the camp during the uprising in 1944. After the war, he and Magda moved to Vinnytsia, Ukraine, where Marx changed his name to Magnus.
Magda and Magnus had a daughter named Anya, and they lived peacefully until one night when a mob of angry thugs burned down their house while Anya was inside.
Enraged mobs prevented him from rescuing Anya, but young Magnus's powers went berserk, killing the mobs and destroying parts of the city. Magda, terrified by Magnus's abilities, left him. Magnus was wanted by the Vinnica authorities for the deaths and injuries he caused…
The convoluted and chaotic trajectory of fate ultimately created Magneto, a Level 5 mutant who deeply hates humanity and takes action to overthrow human rule and allow mutants to dominate the world.
Of course, faced with such a "grand" and unattainable goal, Magneto was prepared to fail and die in the process of achieving it, either at the hands of Professor X—his archenemy who shared similar ideals but tried to lead mutants down a different path; or at the hands of the American military—neither the national political system nor the regime of the world's superpower could tolerate Magneto's actions; or even the endless stream of superheroes and supervillains... Magneto, who was prepared to face the whole world alone, had already made up his mind, but this preparedness did not include a meaningless death like this.

Under the influence of the powerful magnetic field, the metallic elements in the ground that make up this "sky city" dragged other substances toward the central palace. At this moment, Magneto had no hesitation or doubt: he had abandoned that kind of thing long ago when he killed the first person for his ideals.
However, sometimes determination and awareness cannot determine everything...
A stream of sword light flickered slightly, and silently, the not-yet-fully-formed "iron ball" was directly split into several pieces, while the sword light continued its relentless advance toward Magneto's head.
Before it even reached him, Magneto felt the biting cold. He had no doubt that this thing could pierce through his defenses and penetrate his heart or head.
Magneto now faces two choices: First, ignore the flying swords in front of him and use all his power to continue attacking the "Master of Qionghua," sacrificing himself and his life for a better future for most mutants; second, ignore the "Master of Qionghua," use all his power to block the flying swords, and then turn and flee, sacrificing the tragic future of most mutants for his own survival.
Magneto's hesitation didn't last long; rather, he made a decision the instant he realized his situation.
Layers of metal were piled up behind him, accompanied by a piercing twisting sound. When the "Autumn Water Sword" successfully tore through the more than one-meter-thick metal barrier, the president of the Brotherhood of Mutants almost disappeared from sight.
"Change always comes with sacrifices, sometimes lives, sometimes interests."
Watching the figure fleeing into the distance under the pull of the magnetic field, Lin Yi reached out and grasped the returning Autumn Water Sword.
Its appearance remains unchanged—a roadside product manufactured on an assembly line, unlikely to exhibit any magical phenomena.
This time it was slightly different. With the touch between the fingers and palm, an almost imperceptible high-frequency vibration spread along the spine of the sword to the entire blade.
"Ninety-nine pieces..."
He held the sword blade in one hand, and with the help of the hand gripping the hilt, he swung it into the sky: "You're worth the price."

He escaped.
They fled with their backs to the enemy.
The feelings of confusion and shame lasted for less than a second before being replaced by determination. Magneto was convinced that he had made the right choice.
He could have chosen to fight to the death just now—but the chances of success were slim. Perhaps Professor X would have made that choice if he were present, but Magneto was there, a man who would stop at nothing to achieve his ideals.
Magneto believed that rather than risking his life on a low-probability success, a living Magneto could lead more mutants to victory—of course, he would lead the Brotherhood mutants still in the United States. As for the mutants still stranded in the Eastern countries, their fate was sealed the moment Magneto made his decision: to become "victims of change."
After confirming that the "Master of Qionghua" hadn't caught up, Magneto, relieved, had to consider how to deal with this mysterious and powerful opponent. Although the reason was unknown, the "Master of Qionghua" seemed to have no intention of resolving any conflict with the mutant community. This wasn't just targeting mutants within the country; now, under the guise of the Brotherhood of Mutants, the targets of their massacres had shifted overseas. And if we're talking about the most powerful mutant group in the world today, then the Brotherhood of Mutants and the Mutant Academy, which to some extent can now rival the US government, are the biggest targets.
"Professor X, I never thought there would be a time when I would have to cooperate with him."
Recalling his series of grudges and affections with Professor X throughout his life, Magneto, who had narrowly escaped death, was slightly dazed.
It was this ill-timed daze that completely destroyed this generation of "tycoons".
The rapidly spinning "red light" instantly pierced through the surrounding protective metal layer, tearing the heart apart and crushing the fragile body into dust, which then vanished into the distant sky...
A few minutes later, domestic authorities arrived at the scene and found nothing of Magneto, the Level 5 mutant, except for the metal that still bore traces of high temperatures and damage.
Marvel Universe: Chapter 843 Another "Battlefield"
With the death of Magneto, a Level 5 mutant, the Brotherhood of Mutants, leaderless, collapsed instantly. The first to be affected were naturally the mutants who had just fled the country. They thought that after joining this "renowned" mutant organization across the ocean, their previous precarious lives would finally end, but they never expected that this protective umbrella would fall in such a decisive and swift manner...
Of course, it's impossible to make them give up on escaping and accept their fate. Even ants have the thought of clinging to life, let alone those mutants who consider themselves far superior to ordinary people.
After realizing that the Brotherhood of Mutants was already in dire straits and could not offer any assistance, the mutants who had barely escaped the "slaying demons and monsters" environment in the country could not be allowed to return. With their abilities, where on this vast Earth could they not go?
In the following months, tens of thousands of mutants from within the country entered neighboring countries through various means, including disguise, infiltration, attacks, and substitution—methods that humans could or could not conceive of.
From Siberia in Russia in the north, to India in the west, to Singapore and Cambodia in the south, and to North Korea, South Korea and Japan in the east... In this mutant dissemination operation that is comparable to a "great migration of races", "Qionghua", as the instigator, has shown a posture that no one had ever expected.
Faced with the spread of "demons," the sword-wielders (a shorthand for the disciples of Qionghua who wield magic swords) who originally claimed to be "slaying demons and eliminating evil" only focused their attention on the domestic and border regions. Their previous "declaration of war" against the Brotherhood of Mutants, which was still based in the United States, seemed to have been forgotten, and there was no sign of any overseas operations.
If Magneto, the president of the Brotherhood of Mutants, hadn't actually fallen, many people would probably have taken that "declaration of war" as a joke.
This situation is clearly incomprehensible to many. With the sword-bearers remaining silent, external voices are offering their own interpretations through various channels. The prevailing view is that the sword-bearers of Qionghua are beginning to feel "powerless."
Ideals are ideals, and reality is reality. Ideals can be lofty, but ideals alone cannot change the harsh reality.
With the 129,600 sword wielders that Qionghua currently possesses, it is already finding it difficult to deal with the alien groups within the country. Even among mutants, mutated humans, and modified humans, each with a probability of one in ten thousand, there are more than 360,000 aliens in a country with a population of over 1.3 billion. Moreover, their strength varies greatly. The weak ones are just a little stronger than ordinary people and can be defeated as long as they are armed, while the stronger ones can even manipulate and knead objects weighing thousands of tons at will, like Magneto.
Given the vast territory of the country and the ever-increasing abilities of the aliens, it would be incredibly difficult to sift through and find a target who is intentionally hiding. Not to mention that they are now fleeing across the borders to seek protection from other countries. Even if the number of Swordholders were increased tenfold, it might not be possible to complete such a task.
In a sense, this view is correct.
In a moment of inspiration, the previous plan was devised, using "psychic magic" to make a few muddle-headed mutants run to Mount Everest and set off "firecrackers"—using this as an excuse to successfully launch a war against almost all mutants in the world, including the Brotherhood. However, the Swordholders were caught in a contradiction when it came to choosing their next target.
A group led by "Flying White Sword" suggested starting with neighboring countries, gaining more power from the "Sword of Magic" through this "experience-farming" method, before facing the Brotherhood of Mutants across the ocean.
Although there is no other Magneto, there is also no second "Master of Qionghua" to rely on in that place.
However, a group of sword wielders, led by "Left Killing Sword," rejected the suggestion. They insisted on killing the demons across the ocean as soon as possible, citing the reason that it would "damage the reputation of Qionghua." After all, keeping one's word is a basic characteristic of righteous cultivators: if you say you'll kill someone's whole family, you'll kill them whole family.
Of course, many people scoff at such reasons. Given the methods and actions the Swordholders use to deal with mutants, they are far from "righteous," at best driven by humanity's sense of justice towards aliens. But just as everyone knows that rising housing prices are bad for future development yet still buys like crazy, sometimes understanding something doesn't mean you can expose it. At least, exposing it isn't something these "Swordholders" can do. Before the "Qionghua Sect Leader" spoke, they were "righteous disciples," and even for their own benefit, they had to maintain the "Qionghua Sect's" reputation.
In other words, the "Flying White Sword" faction cannot directly refute the intentions of the "Left Killing Sword".
Besides the two major factions, "Flying White Sword" and "Left Killing Sword," there is a third faction that is much more conservative. They advocate maintaining domestic stability first—ideally for ten or twenty years—and only extending their reach after the outside world's perception of the Swordholders has become less negative (their previous actions and declarations have greatly provoked many alien groups, including mutants).
It's obvious without even thinking that this is a force in power within the country. It was sent to Qionghua for experimental purposes. The company there possesses a level of cohesion and execution that other sword wielders lack. In addition, after discovering the method of "slaying demons and monsters" that can strengthen their own power, they obtained a large amount of resources through "normal channels." This allows them to maintain their independence and voice their opinions without the emergence of powerful figures like the prescient "Feibai Sword" or the ruthless "Zuo Sha Sword."
As a result, amidst the infighting and entanglement among the three factions, expansion into the outside world was forcibly halted. Every day was spent either discussing how to move forward or fleeing the path of how to move forward, turning a "reform" into a "farce"...
America, S.H.I.E.L.D.
"It seems that this suddenly appearing 'leader of Qionghua' is also unfamiliar with human politics."
Holding more detailed intelligence than any other swordsman, Nick Fury, in high spirits, whistled: "Instead of risking losses to fight an unknown opponent on the battlefield, it's a better choice to drag it to another 'battlefield' this way."
P.S.: I've been updating continuously for a month and was originally planning to take a day off to rest, but I still habitually wrote two chapters...emmm, I'll continue later if I have time.
Marvel Universe: Chapter 844 The Gu (Part 1)
The world never stops turning because of anyone's idea; it allows some people to stop, but it doesn't prevent anyone from moving forward.
Mount Everest.
With the establishment of the 129,600 sword-wielders, the subsequent climbers, no matter how unwilling they were, had to accept that they had lost a chance to "defy fate." Most of them turned back in despair, but a small number of them were unwilling to give up. They had either abandoned everything to come here, or they had nothing at all. If they lost even this only "possibility," what awaited them would be no better than death.
Among these people, Ning Feng, who has just turned twenty, is a typical example.
Six months ago, on the same day that the "Qionghua" mountain gate opened and advertising spread throughout the world, this young man who had just entered university faced the darkest day of his life. Both his parents died in a car accident. Although the perpetrator had promised to make compensation, it was not enough for Ning Feng, who had already lost everything, especially after witnessing the abilities that Ning Feng displayed during a certain follow-up.
Over the past six months, many "outcasts" have been wiped out by the swordsmen, but the "outcast" who caused the deaths of Ning Feng's parents somehow got wind of it and fled abroad a month ago. At that time, the best Ning Feng could do was confirm that his destination was America across the ocean; he couldn't even report him.
It was at that moment that he realized that even if he devoted his entire life to revenge, he might not be able to achieve it through normal means. Only by using "Qionghua" and becoming a swordsman, wielding the power of the magic sword, would he have a sliver of hope.
From the day he realized this, Ning Feng gave up everything he had in the ordinary world. With a crazy drive, he plunged headlong into the unknown "extraordinary world," groping his way forward in this completely unfamiliar and dangerous territory like everyone who has nothing. Mutants persecuted by the Swordholders may not dare to fight back, but they never hesitate to do so for ordinary people who try to become Swordholders.
Whether it's to prevent problems before they occur or simply to vent, these people who are closest to the swordsman have unknowingly become the most vulnerable group to attack, second only to the swordsman's family.
As a small group that frequently climbed Mount Everest in an attempt to seek "divine encounters," Ning Feng's companions changed almost three times in five months. Some became discouraged halfway through because they could not see any hope, some had to drop out because they could not endure the harsh environment during the climb, and some disappeared because of the attacks by mutants... During this period, only he persisted.
Even when faced with an endless road ahead, even when his body was battered and bruised from repeated exploitation, and even when the malicious gazes around him were growing ever stronger, he never gave up.
This was the path to survival he had chosen for himself, but also the dead end he had drawn for himself.
This was his fifth time reaching the summit.
……
Even though I had witnessed the same scene four times in the previous four months, I was still deeply moved every time I saw it.
The towering peaks, with palaces seemingly higher than the sky itself, overlook the world from atop swirling snow and mist, evoking a sense of solitary grandeur and ethereal isolation.
It is not a "miracle" that humans can accomplish today, but why did it appear here?
Many people have similar questions, but the answers they receive vary greatly.
For those who desperately seek but cannot obtain, a "miracle" appears to make people's desires come to light; for those who have already obtained it, a "miracle" appears to cleanse the world; for those who are hostile and wary, a "miracle" is merely a conspiracy that must be stopped at all costs.
Clearly, for Ning Feng, the "miracle" was meant to appear for the very first purpose—to grant people power that they could not obtain or possess. And for this one and only power that could enable him to take revenge, he was prepared to give up everything.
Do you really think so?
"—!"
Finally, after five months of struggle and hesitation, Ning Feng was almost in tears the moment that "voice" rang in his mind. Fortunately, he had imagined this scenario countless times, so he wouldn't miss this hard-won "opportunity".
"Yes! Ning Feng, a mere mortal, is willing to do anything for this!"
What are you doing this for?
"For revenge!"
He answered without hesitation.
Ning Feng also considered whether to conceal his true purpose. After all, the self-proclaimed righteous "Qionghua" might not accept someone like him who was lost in hatred. However, considering the terrifying and unknown methods of the "Qionghua Sect Leader," he ultimately decided not to play any tricks. Moreover, judging from the actions of those "Sword Bearers" against mutants... it seems that "Qionghua" is not as rigid as he imagined.
However, this incredibly honest answer was met with a calm, almost indifferent, denial.
You are lying.
"——!!!"
[If it were just about revenge, there are countless ways in this world to achieve it, from the simplest method of hiring a hitman to climbing the social ladder and then dealing with the enemy, or even going to the United States to undergo various dangerous super-soldier transformations. The success rate of any of these would be much higher than wasting your time here. But you didn't choose these 'possible' methods; instead, you chose this 'impossible' effort.]
"No, no, I didn't..."
His pale face was filled with confusion. Under that calm voice, Ning Feng recalled his actions all along.
He stubbornly believed that he could give anything for revenge, but how did he actually act on it?
Escape, retreat, turn a blind eye... Rather than saying he was willing to give everything for revenge, it would be more accurate to say he was simply yearning for it.
I yearn for those sword-wielders who can slay demons and monsters, those sword-wielders who can act with impunity, and those groups who can dominate others with violence without being punished.
[Your despair isn't driven by revenge, but by a twisted desire to control your own kind.]
A look of despair crossed his deathly pale face, but then froze as the voice rang out.
But so what?
"……what?"
[As long as the sword is there, the person is there; if the sword dies, the person dies. But that doesn't mean that if the person is gone, the sword is gone too. If the person dies, the sword dies as well...]
Marvel Universe: Chapter 845 The Gu (Part 2)
Another morning was wasted in various buck-passing and shirking of responsibility.
However, unlike his previous impatience, Zhu Ruyi has gradually become accustomed to this "upper-level" way of getting along. After more than half a month of continuous interaction, he has slowly figured out the various rules and systems followed by the top few of humanity. Although he cannot use them smoothly at the moment, he is sure that with the help of the "magic sword", he will soon be able to understand them and use them to serve his own purposes.
When that time comes, the first thing he needs to deal with is "Left Killer Sword," who has always been at odds with him. After he has control of the whole situation, then... what will he do next?
Zhu Ruyi subconsciously pressed her palm onto the "magic sword" and began to recall her actions over the past six months since she obtained it.
Search, kill, become stronger, search, kill, become even stronger... It seems he has been repeating these things in a boring way. Apart from that, he has neither beautiful women around him, nor a fortune, nor any overwhelming power. What is the point of obtaining such extraordinary power?
But what caused all of this?
The old Zhu Ruyi might not have understood this clearly, but the "magic sword" gave him not only greater strength and speed, but also sharper thinking.
The cause of all this is the "magic sword" itself.
