Chapter 11 The Hidden Snake
Chapter 11 The Hidden Snake
"The plan needs to be adjusted, everyone. I suggest that all ordinary citizens immediately retreat to the basement and be prepared to evacuate at any time."
"What? Please, brother, we're on fire right now! Nothing can stop us!"
The Red Guards, who were already planning to retreat, shouted loudly and even wanted to open a bottle of vodka on the spot to cheer themselves up.
At that moment, a cold voice suddenly cut into the communication channel; it was Icarus.
He gazed at the beam of light rushing towards him like the sun in the distance and said in a deep voice, "He's right, we can't hold this place. I have an 'appointment' here and need to go offline temporarily."
Those in the monitoring room naturally saw the golden "sun" that flashed across the sky—that was the trace of Captain Marvel's energy burst!
A dazzling golden light spread out, and Icarus, showing no weakness, went straight to meet it, like a needle against a wheat awn.
The immense impact of the collision detonated the energy cluster in mid-air, unleashing a terrifying shockwave that shattered all the glass with ease. Everyone had to cover their ears tightly to prevent their eardrums from bursting.
"This is just the prelude. Several more super-powered zombies are approaching the battlefield. Don't make unnecessary sacrifices!"
The Cold Dew season has arrived; continuing to stubbornly resist will only lead to the loss of both people and land!
He didn't want these vibrant young women around him to lose their lives here, and the Iron Lady felt the same way. In the end, Alexei could only reluctantly agree.
"Alright, I'll let them off the hook for today. See you in the underground parking garage, girls."
The other Black Widows also witnessed the "sun" in the sky and put away their weapons.
They looked at Hanlu, who had been staying by their side, with gratitude in their eyes, and then swiftly withdrew.
"Katie, I need you. How's your aim?"
The second-generation Hawkeye, who had already prepared his longbow, drew the bowstring with style: "A perfect shot."
"Okay, then my safety is in your hands."
Katie felt somewhat at a loss when faced with Hanlu's trusting gaze.
Her earlier show of coolness was more about bravado. Lately, she'd felt like a little burden, but this big boy's earnest entrustment made her feel like she'd agreed too hastily.
"Watch out! They're coming!"
Hanlu's roar echoed through the communicator. The next second, the orderly horde of zombies was as if it had been crushed by a giant iron ball, a path split open in its path—
The other party was so fast that even the monitoring equipment couldn't react!
After a series of chaotic sounds, the figure rushed around the fortress several times, and finding that it could not directly break through the walls, it headed straight for the weakest point, the rooftop.
"They're on the ceiling! Kamala!"
"receive!"
Kamala and the other two stared nervously into the dark passageway. After confirming their target, they stood together at the only entrance to the corridor.
Moon Knight suddenly frowned: "Kamara, activate the shield!"
"good!"
Kamala immediately raised her hand, and a dazzling crystalline barrier appeared out of thin air.
At the same moment, a terrifying figure crashed violently into the barrier!
The extreme speed brought unparalleled impact, and Kamala was almost thrown off her feet. Fortunately, the two people beside her caught her in time, which barely allowed her to maintain her defensive line.
Immediately afterwards, the black figure began to frantically pound on the barrier, its fists raining down like raindrops.
Matt gave a relieved smile: "Luckily it was our team. If it were open ground, we would have been finished in seconds."
"Kamala, can you build another wall? Squeeze him flat."
With two adults present, Kamala's fear subsided somewhat.
She nodded in agreement, and then, before Macari could react, another crystal wall was erected behind her.
The moment Macari turned around upon hearing the noise, the two walls slammed shut, squeezing him into a bloody mess like a sandwich!
"Ugh, how disgusting." Kamala stepped back in disgust, but Moon Knight stepped forward, dipped his fingertip in the dark bloodstain, and said in a deep voice, "Just as I thought."
Attic rooftop.
A ghostly figure dressed in white armor suddenly appeared, his mask torn in half. He looked around but didn't see the expected living person.
"Bang!"
The attack missed.
Hanlu manipulated the alloy steel plate beneath her feet, instantly pulling out several sharp iron spikes—
This fatal blow would have killed any conventional superhero or villain, but he was facing an invisible and intangible enemy.
Hanlu emerged from the hidden corner, secretly annoyed that the other party was too perceptive.
The next second, the ghost lunged forward wielding its longsword. Just as the blade was about to fall, Hanlu's psychic power suddenly erupted, attempting to imprison the opponent.
With a flurry of chaotic flashes of light, the ghost suddenly broke free from its restraints—
There was no reason, simply because she was a ghost.
In the ensuing fierce battle, Hanlu kept throwing debris in an attempt to block off the area, but her opponent would always suddenly appear and slash with his sword.
If it weren't for Hanlu's maxed-out agility attribute, she probably would have already been hit.
"Stop!"
Hanlu suddenly roared, and the scene froze instantly. The ghost, who was about to swing his sword, was strangely frozen in mid-air. In that instant, an arrow that had been ready to be released pierced through the air and accurately blew the ghost's head off!
It's not over yet!
Hanlu spread her palms out, and countless metal spikes rose up again, tearing the ghost's body to shreds.
Finally, everything was calm. Katie jumped out of the shadows and quickly helped up the still-shaken Hanlu.
Hanlu touched the lingering psychic energy fluctuations in her palm and thought to herself: "Words of guidance, though only for a moment, are enough to turn the tide of battle."
"Thanks, Katie, you've been a huge help."
"N-nothing," Katie blushed.
She discovered that even without her, Hanlu could still defeat the opponent by summoning metal with her mental power, and she seemed to be just an afterthought.
The two helped each other to the window, where they saw a figure charging wildly like a bulldozer, easily knocking aside both their own guards and enemy zombies, like a shark slicing through the calm sea with its back.
"Katie, go down and help them. Tell everyone to prepare to retreat. I'll clear out the remaining enemies."
Katie understood, nodded, and after confirming that Hanlu was alright, she quickly packed her things and went downstairs.
Watching Katie's figure disappear from sight, Hanlu bent down and placed her hand on the ghostly arm that had been reduced to pieces.
A familiar white halo appeared, and in the hazy light, a brand new talisman emerged.
Snake: Metamorphosis, stealth.
