"It's alright, Leila, one or two words won't matter, let's continue."
Luo Xiu encouraged him.
Leila nodded and continued reading:
"The sun rises... strong... main... kin... cold place... please be patient... please hold on."
Leila raised her head and looked at Luo Xiu:
"Master, that's all."
"Is it over?"
Luo Xiu nodded, seemingly lost in thought.
Leila was a little sad, feeling that she hadn't translated it well:
"I'm sorry, Master. Leila learned the common language of monsters when she was very young, and she has forgotten a lot of it now. She hasn't been of much help to Master."
"Ok?"
Luo Xiu snapped out of his thoughts, looked at the saddened Leila, and smiled:
"No, Leila was a big help."
As he spoke, Luo Xiu unfolded the map he was holding.
He began to explain it to Leila.
He noticed that the map had been divided into regions using various colors.
Although there were no directional markings on the map, Luo Xiu was still able to identify the location of each region based on its approximate shape.
First, there's the location of Wheel Town, a roughly circular area surrounded by blue lines.
The adjacent slime plains are surrounded by yellow lines.
The blue and yellow areas are right next to each other.
This is also how it is in reality; Wheel Town and the edge of Slime Plain are right next to each other.
But strangely, it's Sunset Jungle.
The location of Sunset Jungle on the map is marked with two different colors.
The area near Wheel Town is bound by gray lines, while another part is bound by red lines.
There are two more markers in the red area, one of which is a goblin's head, at the intersection of gray and red.
There is also a dot in the very center of the red area.
Luo Xiu deduced that the mark with the goblin's head represented the location of the small settlement, while the dot represented a larger settlement.
This means that, in the goblins' minds, they do not consider the entire Sunset Forest to be their territory.
Between their territory and Wheel Town lies a large gray area.
If Leila's translation is correct.
The phrase "grey area means no large numbers" on the parchment scroll likely means that large numbers of goblins are prohibited from entering the gray area.
This explains why no goblins came after Luo Xiu and Leila killed all the goblins on the outskirts.
These goblins are restricted for some reason.
The reason for this is very likely the "land of kinship" mentioned on the parchment scroll.
As for what a "familiar land" was, Luo Xiu had never heard of it before and decided to ask Old White when he returned to town.
Luo Xiu had no clue about the following sentence, but from the tone of the voice, he could tell that the parchment scroll was a document of an announcement nature.
After hearing Luo Xiu's analysis, Leila's eyes widened and her mouth slightly opened:
"Master is so amazing."
"It's still just speculation."
Luo Xiu laughed:
"We have to thank Leila for your translation."
Leila's ears twitched happily when she heard that she had helped her master.
Luo Xiu continued looking at the map, gestured the distance with his hand, and asked:
"Leila, if it were you, how long would it take to run back to town from here?"
Leila recalled the distance she had walked each day over the past few days and began to speak:
"It will probably take... half a day."
Half a day, which is 12 hours.
Luo Xiu looked at the distance depicted on the map.
The distance from the settlement marker to Wheel Town is approximately four times that to the center dot of the red area.
In other words, it would only take 3 hours to get here from the center point of the red area, running at Leila's speed.
If my guess is correct, and that dot represents a larger goblin settlement, then wouldn't the goblin reinforcements be...?
Luo Xiu's heart skipped a beat.
I think it's been less than 3 hours since the battle started.
Memories of his escape from the Slime Plains surfaced in his mind, and Luo Xiu slowly raised his head to look in the direction of the central origin.
It was a denser forest than the outer area, with thick, inky darkness filling the boundaries between the trees, making it impossible to see through.
A chilly wind rustled through the trees, whispering as if something was speaking.
Luo Xiu could already imagine the scene of a bunch of scarlet eyes emerging from the darkness the next second.
Fortunately, it didn't happen.
Nothing happened.
Luo Xiu breathed a sigh of relief.
He didn't want to experience that rainy night again.
"Leila, collect the corpses and equipment of the Tier 3 and Tier 2 goblins, let's go back to town."
After quickly cleaning up the last bit of the battlefield, the master and servant left.
About ten minutes after they left,
Suddenly, pairs of scarlet eyes snapped open in the dense forest to the north, like clusters of blood-red flames igniting in the darkness.
One of them had eyes as big as lanterns, covered with thick blood vessels, and its gaze revealed an undisguised ferocity.
Their eyes, fixed on the severed limbs and remains of the dead goblins in the settlement, grew increasingly furious.
After a few seconds,
"Jah!!!"
The entity with the largest eyes couldn't help but let out a deafening roar.
The other owners of the scarlet-eyed animals also started shouting.
A cacophony of sharp roars mingled together, carrying far and wide!
the other side,
The master and servant, who were on their way, heard a huge goblin roar.
Leila's eyes lit up; she knew her master loved goblins the most.
"Master, there are goblins over there! Let's go kill them—"
But before she could finish speaking, Luo Xiu quickly covered her mouth.
Luo Xiu looked flustered:
"We won't kill any more today. We've killed too many people today, far too many."
Half a day later,
Luo Xiu and Leila, who had traveled through the night, returned to the north gate of the town.
The guards at the gate today were all familiar townspeople, but Dave wasn't among them.
They were all very surprised to see Luo Xiu and his servant:
"Luo Xiu, didn't you go to Bandanda?"
"No, I've been in the jungle lately."
Luo Xiu asked:
"Have many people from town gone to Bandanda?"
"The vast majority have left."
A guard who was on good terms with Dave looked at Luo Xiu with a complicated expression and said:
"Luo Xiu, be careful after you enter the town. The current Che Lun Town is completely different from before."
Chapter 30 The Great Changes in Wheel Town
Is Wheel Town completely different from what it used to be?
Luo Xiu was somewhat surprised. He had only been away for seven days, so there shouldn't have been any major changes in the town.
But the guard's expression didn't seem to be joking.
Luo Xiu could only thank the guard for the reminder and led Leila into the town.
Just to be on the safe side, he and Leila both put on the hoods behind their clothes, covering part of their faces.
But once they entered the town, they realized that such covering was completely unnecessary.
As the guards said, the entire town had indeed undergone a complete transformation compared to seven days ago.
The original mud road has been paved with neat and smooth cobblestones, and the dried fish drying in the windows on both sides of the street has been replaced by clusters of fresh flowers.
