Chapter 54 Nine Realms Overlapping - 5
Chapter 54 Nine Realms Overlapping - 5
"No wonder that in any world, everyone hates prophets and seers the most—people who know the future but say nothing. They truly deserve to be hated!"
Vega left the New York Sanctuary under his breath, having gained nothing except the fact that the Nine Realms overlapped and the specific timeframe.
Forget it, forget it. If the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up. Even the big shots aren't worried. Why should a nobody like him bother with this? Go home and sleep!
Feeling annoyed by the riddle, Vega decided to go home and sleep. But when he got home, he exclaimed, "Wow, is this a spider?"
The living room was packed with Spider-Men—not only humanoid men, women, and children, but also cat Spider-Men, pig Spider-Men, duck Spider-Men...
As Vega approached, all the Spider-Men shuddered, and the barbs on their bodies instantly stood up.
Everyone stared in astonishment at the doorway. In their eyes, what walked in was not a human being, but a blazing, scorching sun!
Not everyone reacted so strongly. One of the five identical Gwens, dressed and looking exactly like the others, who were teasing Little Saint Xi, Luna, and a little girl in a spider costume, gave everyone a strange look and walked towards the door: "Uncle Li, you're back. These are friends I just met. They were curious about my life, so I invited them to my house."
"Oh, oh, I see," Vega said, realizing that Gwen had joined the Spider-Man League. He put on a warm smile and said, "Welcome, welcome everyone! Please stay for lunch. Uncle, uh, I'll cook a few of my signature dishes for you."
Upon discovering someone who looked to be around his age, Vega immediately changed his tune.
"Thank you, Uncle Li. Your house is so big!"
"Excuse me, Mr. Li, your daughter is very cute."
"Meow, meow~"
"Gah, gah gah~"
"Hmph, hmph..."
A group of Spider-Men started talking one after another, their chatter making Vega's ears hurt.
A well-built, composed-looking, brown-skinned female Spider-Man approached: "Hello Mr. Lee, I'm Jessica Drew."
"I'm sorry for not notifying you in advance. The main reason is that this universe isn't on the Alliance's records, and we're very curious about what it's like here."
"It's alright." Vega didn't care at all. He understood that the main reason these people came was because of him, who had never existed in other universes.
Vega: "There's something you need to be aware of. We're facing a major event here where the Nine Realms overlap. S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Five Great Nations are closely monitoring all anomalies around the world."
If you want to go out, let me know in advance and I'll report it to S.H.I.E.L.D. and the US government on your behalf.
"Oh, and one more thing to note: don't reveal anything about other universes, and don't expose any supervillains or criminal organizations that haven't been exposed yet. Things are already chaotic enough."
Jessica Drew nodded: "No problem."
Gwen: "Uncle Li, is it confirmed that the overlap of the Nine Realms will really happen?"
Vega: "Okay, you guys keep playing. I'll go tell the five major nations about this and have someone register everyone."
Vega walked upstairs and heard voices coming from the kitchen as he passed by. He peeked in and saw Monica, Bana, and three female Spider-Men busy inside.
Without disturbing them, he went to his study to call Phil Coulson and tell him the exact time of the Nine Realms overlapping, and also asked him to come to the house to register those special guests.
After finishing the phone call, Vega went downstairs into the kitchen, confirmed the number of guests and the menu with Monica, and told her what he wanted to cook. After learning that everything had been bought, he was kicked out.
It was still early, so Vega went to the living room and chatted with several older Spider-Men.
Phil Coulson arrived unexpectedly quickly, accompanied by five other people.
Melinda May, Grant Ward, Skye, Gemma Simmons, Leo Fitz.
"You guys came pretty fast." After the numerous Gwens and several Spider-Men (excluding the animals) had put on their masks, Vega opened the door and let them in.
Vega looked at these people thoughtfully: Phil Coulson didn't fake his death, yet he still formed his own team? Interesting.
Phil Coulson: "We've been investigating a Chitauri weapons trafficking case in Houston these days. Are these people really from other universes?"
Vega: "Yes, this is Lady Spider. You can talk to her."
Just a heads-up, don't do anything you shouldn't. The Spider-Man League is not to be trifled with.
"Don't think so badly of us, okay?" Phil Coulson smiled wryly. Every time, Vega would warn them that they were an official organization protecting the world, not some villainous organization.
"Heh, I just said it's a habit." Vega glanced at Grant Ward without showing any emotion, nodded to Jessica Drew to indicate that the rest was up to her, and returned to the courtyard to continue exchanging parenting tips with the other stay-at-home dads.
Hydra is an extremely dangerous terrorist organization to ordinary people, but to Vega, it's just an ant he can't be bothered with.
Well, at least that's how Hydra is to him in this universe.
Phil Coulson and his group arrived and left quickly, only receiving two simple pieces of information: that Spider-Men from various worlds had formed an alliance, and that these people were guests invited by Gwen.
It wasn't that they didn't want to know more, it was just that the woman was too difficult to deal with, and everyone else who seemed easy to get information out of kept their distance.
In the car, watching Phil Coulson, Melinda May, and Grant Ward discussing how to gather more intelligence, Skye turned to Gemma Simmons beside her and whispered, "Is S.H.I.E.L.D. really a righteous organization?"
Gemma Simmons nodded firmly and said, "Of course."
Skye: "But why do the therapists and those Spider-Men hate us so much?"
"This..." Gemma Simmons hesitated, unsure how to answer.
Skye: "It's one thing for the healer to be okay, but it's really not normal for 32 Spider-Men from different universes to hate S.H.I.E.L.D."
Gemma Simmons remained silent. Phil Coulson said, "Alright, stop overthinking. Look at them, many people look alike. Maybe they just don't want us to discover their true identities, which is why they've attracted our attention in this universe."
Skye: "How will we monitor them?"
Phil Coulson: "Just a simple survey."
"Are you sure?" Skye asked, her face full of disbelief.
"I'm sure," Phil Coulson said confidently, but everyone in the car knew he was lying...
