Within minutes, Shen Wancheng and Shen Yao had both left, leaving Shen Mei and Guo Tao staring at each other in bewilderment.
Unable to contain his curiosity, Guo Tao asked Shen Mei, "Shen Mei, how do they know such a big shot?"
Shen Mei shook her head, "I don't know, I've never heard them mention it. Are these people very powerful?"
Guo Tao clicked his tongue twice. "It's not that impressive. In Hong Kong, they are the most powerful and influential families. They can buy this building with just a check. But they wouldn't care about an old building like this."
Guo Tao thought for a moment and added, "Remember when we went to see Victoria Harbour before? These people are going in and out of those high-rise buildings. Some of those high-rise buildings were built by them and are their property."
Shen Mei's eyes widened. The shock she felt that night at Victoria Harbour was still vivid in her mind. She never imagined that one day the people around her would have some interaction with those who lived in the clouds.
Shen Mei took a long time to come back to her senses.
"I don't know how my sister and the others know these people."
Guo Tao looked regretful. "If these people just let go of even a tiny bit of benefit, it would be enough for ordinary people like us to eat and drink for a lifetime.
