Chapter 114: Shameless!
The meeting room fell silent for a brief moment.
In just a short while, Osa had already started to have wild thoughts.
Her gaze kept darting to Oro's face, then she thought of the meaningful look Stusi had given her when he left, and of Gails' gentle yet undeniable presence—
"Osa".
Auro looked at Osha, who seemed inexplicably tense, and felt a little strange. He called out to her softly.
"what!"
Osa jumped up from the chair as if she had been burned by something, the chair legs scraping against the floor with a screeching sound.
"No! Not here! Not here!"
Her words were incoherent, and her cheeks flushed red at a visible speed: "Shakky and Thomas are here too! You're looking for them!"
Only after saying this did Ou Sha realize what she had said.
Oro looked at her.
Xia Qi was also looking at her.
Thomas looked at her too.
The three people first showed clear confusion on their faces, and then that confusion slowly turned into an expression of sudden realization.
Now Osha's face turned even redder; she felt as if her cheeks were hot enough to fry an egg.
"I...I...I'm not—"
She stammered, waving her hands haphazardly in front of her: "N-no, that's not what I meant."
Seeing her like this, Oro gave Osa a gentle smile and then spoke up to help her out of the predicament: "—First, sit down. I have something I'd like to ask you."
Osa blushed and nodded, stiffly sitting back down in her chair. She kept her head down, staring at her knees, avoiding eye contact with anyone.
"Two months from now, at the beginning of next year, I will go to the West Sea to find the other half of the demon contract."
Oro's gaze slowly swept over the three women: "Just in case, I would like to ask you to come with me."
He spoke very directly, without beating around the bush.
Ou Sha then raised her head, her blush still lingering, but her eyes had become serious: "Yes, of course."
Shakky and Toma didn't say much; accepting Oro's request was the obvious thing to do.
"Then it's settled."
Oro nodded: "I will tell you the specific itinerary before we depart."
"You can go back to Amazon Lily to make some preparations during this time, or you can stay on Sky Island. The scenery here is quite nice, and you can look around."
Osa just kept nodding, and then she couldn't wait to stand up from her chair.
All she wanted to do was escape this place immediately; her earlier outburst had made her toes curl up.
"Well, it's settled then! We're off!"
After saying that, Ou Sha rushed towards the door, but when she got to the door and was about to rush out, she realized that no one seemed to be following her.
Then, when she turned around, she saw that Shakky and Thomas were still sitting comfortably in their original seats, showing no intention of getting up and leaving.
Xia Qi even crossed her legs, put her arms around her chest, looked at her openly, and raised an eyebrow at her.
Osa knew that expression all too well. Every time Shakky was about to do something outrageous, she would show that "you know what I mean" look.
Toma, the youngest of the three, didn't dare to look Osa in the eye. Her face was as red as a ripe apple, and she turned her head to the side, staring at the decorative patterns on the wall as if those patterns were some priceless treasure.
"You...you guys aren't really...really going to stay here..."
Osa's voice was trembling as she held up a finger, pointing shakily at the three people still sitting there.
Oro wasn't the kind of person who hesitated or lacked responsibility. When he saw Osha in this state, he immediately stood up and tried to pull her back. Regardless of what he wanted to do, he at least had to make his stance clear and explain things clearly.
But as soon as Osa saw him stand up, she turned into a startled rabbit, looking like she was about to kick out.
"You shameless scoundrel!"
She yelled and then burst out the door without looking back, her long, wavy pink hair whipping around in an arc behind her.
"Bang!"
The door was slammed shut, making the door frame tremble slightly.
The meeting room fell silent again.
Xia Qi glanced at the door that was still swaying slightly and snorted disdainfully.
She stood up from the chair, walked to the door with unhurried steps, and reached out to grab the doorknob with a "click".
She locked the door.
Then she turned around, leaning against the door, and looked at Oro and Toma, who were still sitting at the conference table.
Her confident smile carried a hint of defiance.
Toma blushed even more. She lowered her head, placed her hands on her knees, and nervously twisted her fingers together.
Oro looked at Shakky, then at Toma, and finally his gaze returned to Shakky.
"She runs pretty fast," Oro said.
"Don't worry, you can run away today, but you can't run away tomorrow."
Shaki left the doorway and walked towards Oro: "That woman is just too proud to admit it, but she's really thinking a lot."
She walked up to Oro and stopped. The two were so close that they could feel each other's breath.
"Then————"
Her voice was low, carrying a hint: "There's no one else here now."
Thomas sat in the chair, almost curled up into a ball.
She wanted to say something, but her throat felt like it was blocked, and she couldn't make a sound.
Oro looked at Shakky, then turned to look at Toma.
He reached out his hand, not to Xiaqi, but to Thomas.
"Toma."
He called her name.
Thomas raised his head, his eyes wide open.
Come here.
Oro's voice was soft and gentle.
Thomas hesitated for a moment, then slowly stood up from her chair. She walked to Oro's side and stopped a step away.
Oro grabbed her hand and pulled her closer.
Thomas did not resist; she obediently moved closer until she was almost pressed against Oro.
She could smell the unique scent on Oro, not perfume, but a clean, slightly metallic aroma.
Xia Qi watched this scene, and the corners of her mouth curved into a wider smile. She wasn't angry or dissatisfied; instead, it was as if she had seen something amusing.
"That little brat's quite the actress; she clearly ate before anyone else, she's not honest at all—so, shall I go first?"
Her tone was full of teasing.
"Together."
Oro spoke so naturally, as if he were saying that the weather was nice today.
Thomas's body stiffened for a moment, but she quickly relaxed, closed her eyes, and her long eyelashes trembled gently.
Shaki's smile grew increasingly unrestrained. Without further hesitation, she stepped forward and approached Oro from the other side.
The curtains in the meeting room weren't fully drawn, and the afternoon sunlight streamed in through the gaps, cutting a narrow strip of light across the floor.
The light spot moved slowly over time.
It moved from the floor to the wall, and then from the wall to the ceiling.
