Chapter 80 Panel Attributes
Chapter 80 Panel Attributes
Fifth District, two-story residential building
Kane sat at his desk, a striped paper notebook open in front of him, containing a series of clues.
The one about the ghoul has been checked off.
"The ghoul has been captured. Now it's up to the Night Watch to see if they can get anything out of it, uncover the mastermind, and find out the cult's stronghold."
He muttered to himself, his gaze falling on the attribute panel in his mind, his eyes settling on three grayed-out first-ring spells:
Elemental absorption, shield spell, disguise spell.
Without the slightest hesitation, Kane split his remaining 10 skill points, allocating 3 points to each of the three spells.
A faint light flashed, and all the previously gray spell icons lit up, turning into striking white.
A vast amount of magical knowledge flooded his mind like a tidal wave. Kane closed his eyes and concentrated, and in an instant, he had mastered all of it.
When he opened his eyes again, his eyes were clear and bright.
"Shield spell".
He softly recited the incantation, and the instant his words fell, an invisible force field shield solidified in front of him.
To test the effect, Kane had a thought, and the dagger lying on the table flew into the air and crashed straight into the shield.
"Bang!"
A crisp clanging sound rang out as the dagger was violently deflected, and the shield slowly dissipated after being impacted.
The dagger clattered to the ground.
"As expected, the shield spell is indeed an essential skill for spellcasters, with excellent resistance to physical damage."
However, using it to block attacks of this magnitude is indeed overkill; dealing with heavy blows is its forte.
He stroked his chin, his eyes deep and thoughtful.
"Of course, the shield spell can only block one attack."
Its most crucial function is to conceal my immortality.
After completing the first spell experiment, Kane took a deep breath and then recited the incantation for elemental absorption.
As the obscure syllables faded, he could clearly perceive the changes in his body.
A thin layer of etheric energy quietly enveloped my body.
Kane got up and walked to the fireplace, lighting the prepared firewood.
The flickering flames licked at the firewood, sending up waves of heat.
He stared at the cluster of flames and, without hesitation, slowly reached his palm inside.
The expected burning sensation did not come; instead of being burned, my palm felt a warm sensation enveloping my fingertips.
"Element absorption allows me to temporarily adapt to extreme environments ranging from -50 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit."
Kane withdrew his hand, looked at the intact skin on his palm, and analyzed in a low voice.
"This spell is highly effective against damage from mages, especially evocation spells."
Whether it's Frostbolt, Flame Arrow, or Lightning Claw, the first-level Enchantment attacks will be significantly weakened.
"To truly harm me, it would require at least a second-level or higher Evocation spell."
"With these two spells as a foundation, my immortality can be hidden more securely."
When injured, the shield absorbs most of the damage; when hit by fire or ice, elemental absorption comes into play.
Kane turned and walked toward the mirror standing in the corner, chanting the incantation once more.
This time it's a disguise technique.
The moment the spell took effect, the appearance of the person in the mirror began to change.
Her original black hair and black eyes faded to a dazzling golden color at a visible speed, and her eyes turned into a clear blue.
The facial contours were subtly adjusted, the bridge of the nose was raised slightly, the eyebrows were made thinner, and even the skin tone was changed from the original ordinary tone to a slightly pale, aristocratic white.
In just three seconds, the person in the mirror was a completely unfamiliar young man, with an elegant demeanor and a slightly aristocratic air.
"Although the first-level disguise technique cannot change body shape and voice, the change in appearance alone is enough to fool most people's eyes."
He looked at the unfamiliar face in the mirror and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
"This way, if there are any assassinations or infiltration missions later, my actions can be more covert."
"Elemental Absorption counters Evocation Mages, Shield is effective against physical classes, and Disguise facilitates movement and concealment."
In addition to the existing water manipulation control, cloud and mist cover, protection against demons and monsters... now there are far fewer weaknesses.
"Now we have more trump cards to deal with different types of enemies."
Kane looked up at the attribute panel, and seeing the completely revamped spell list, he understood.
"Now, we are more confident in dealing with different types of enemies."

"Moreover, in terms of offensive capabilities, although my rank on the panel is still at rank one."
However, as long as I use water manipulation to accelerate blood flow and temporarily enhance my physical functions, my strength and speed can barely contend with a second-tier melee professional.
Kane tapped his fingertips lightly on the table, a hint of calm flashing in his eyes.
"My combat strength has increased since I first transmigrated to this world."
"Even if we're trapped in that Demon Cult's outpost right now, facing the combined attack of Ange and the mentor, we could probably break through and escape."
He quickly mentally reenacted the battle scenario.
"Although my mentor is a second-tier powerhouse, I have the advantage of immortality, which is enough to wear down his sorcerer spell slots through attrition warfare before I can launch a close-range attack."
The newly learned shield and elemental absorption spells will make dealing with Ange's first-level spells much easier.
He paused, his brows furrowing slightly.
"I just wonder if the 'Anjie' of today is still the same Anjie she used to be..."
Kane recalled the oath he had made to himself on the River Styx and gently shook his head.
After so much time, the other party had already undergone thirteen Holy Mark rituals and taken that bottle of magic potion.
It's likely that her body, that of a demon's child, has long since become a vessel for the demon's descent. And Ange's soul has probably already been dragged into the abyss.
The "Ange" who is now stuck in this material plane is nothing more than a demon carrying her memories.
However, it remains uncertain what kind of demon is hidden inside that body.
Kane suppressed these chaotic thoughts and his gaze sharpened again.
"Next, it's time to accumulate some experience points and upgrade my main profession to level 20 to prepare for advancing to the second tier."
The three new spells still need to be tested and refined in actual combat; it would be best to find some 'live targets'...
Just as I was pondering this, I suddenly heard the sound of wings flapping outside the window.
He pushed open the window, and a white dove fluttered its wings and landed on the windowsill, with a thin roll of letter paper tied to its claws.
Kane took down the letter, unfolded it, and recognized the handwriting at a glance.
"It's a letter from Reed; Talia wants to see me."
He recalled the girl he had a brief affair with at that nameless club, and pondered for a moment.
"Fine, let's go see them then."
Kane lit the letter over the candle flame and watched it turn to ashes.
"Perfect timing, bring her the mitigation agent that Lady Weaver developed for the side effects of possession drugs."
And... I also need to talk to her about what happens next..."
Kane pushed open the door and stepped into the streets of the Fifth District at night, his figure quickly blending into the dim darkness.
