Chapter 583 Special Commodities
Chapter 583 Special Commodities
Looking at the fitted black cheongsam, the proprietress narrowed her eyes slightly, and an uncontrollable smile crept onto her lips. It wasn't the standard smile used in business, but rather the kind of smile that adult women understood each other without words.
Her gaze shifted from the cheongsam to Zuo Yue, silently estimating the visual effect the cheongsam would create on this woman.
Do young people want to try something exciting?
As she thought to herself, her smile widened. It seemed she might make a fortune today, not for the cheongsam itself, but for the truly valuable items hidden in the shop, items not easily shown to ordinary customers.
"Okay, please follow me," the proprietress greeted warmly. "Would you like to try on some clothes?"
"No...no need, just wrap it up..." Satsuki's cheeks were still red, a redness that hadn't faded since she entered the store, but instead grew deeper and more intense.
"Huh? Is that so?" The proprietress nodded, came out from behind the counter, and walked to Zuoyue's side. "Then please come over here for a moment, and I'll explain the precautions for this dress to you."
"Precautions?"
Suddenly, the proprietress leaned right close to Zuoyue's ear.
"Sir, you bought this outfit for your husband, right?"
Zuo Yue immediately understood the meaning of those words. Her face, which had just been slightly flushed, turned deep red in an instant, so red that even the base of her neck and collarbone were tinged with a light pink.
"What...what did you say?! I just came to buy clothes! If you ask me these questions again, I'm not buying them!" Her voice lowered slightly when she said "I'm not buying them," so low that even she herself felt she lacked confidence.
"Haha, sorry, sorry," the proprietress apologized with a smile, finding this customer increasingly adorable. Despite being incredibly shy, her enthusiasm for buying hadn't waned at all.
"But... I'm still very confident in my judgment. You really love your husband, am I right?"
"What...what exactly are you trying to say?"
She was incredibly shy, yet she didn't deny it at all. Her face was already flushed red, but she didn't say a single word like, "You've misunderstood," or "I didn't buy it for him." Not a single word.
The proprietress understood that Satsuki was her target customer—the ideal type of customer who would readily open her wallet to "make her partner happier."
Do you want your partner to be even more infatuated with you?
Upon hearing this, Zuo Yue's body stiffened abruptly. Her gaze shifted from the proprietress for a moment, landing on the clothes rack beside her, on the colorful garments, before returning to her own.
She didn't say "I don't need it," nor did she say "What are you talking about?" She didn't say anything to refuse. She just stood there, waiting for the proprietress to say the next part of her sentence.
The proprietress smiled inwardly at Zuoyue's reaction.
"If you want your husband to be even more infatuated and happy with you, come with me. I have some amazing outfits that can make that happen."
Satsuki's throat bobbed. If what the proprietress said was true, if those "amazing outfits" could really make Naruto even more fascinated by her, even more obsessed with her, and even look at her with those eyes that made her heart race, she would definitely go with him.
It's not "may go", it's "definitely will go".
"Um... Satsuki, what's wrong...?"
Naruto took a few steps forward and asked in confusion.
"Excuse me, sir, could you please wait here for a moment?"
The proprietress turned to Naruto with a smile that was so professional it was impossible to find fault with it.
"I'm going to introduce some special products to your wife. Gentlemen, please stay away. Don't worry, I mean no harm."
"It's such a shame to see such a pretty girl wearing such plain clothes..."
Indeed, Zuo Yue's outfit wasn't particularly outstanding.
It was just an ordinary, practical piece of clothing, neither too bright nor too dull in color, with no design or highlights whatsoever. In the landlady's eyes, wearing it on Zuoyue was a waste of her talent.
Naruto watched as Sasuke followed the landlady toward the door with the curtain hanging on it, his face showing no sign of worry.
He wasn't worried about Sōgetsu's safety. Given Sōgetsu's strength, unless the landlady was actually Kaguya Ōtsutsuki in disguise, she wouldn't be able to threaten him.
Moreover, the proprietress genuinely meant no harm; her goal was simple and pure: to make a fortune.
It's not the kind of money you make by cheating or swindling, but the kind of money that every honest businessman wants to make.
And so, Zuoyue followed the landlady and stepped through the door with the curtain hanging on it.
