Chapter 61 The Secret Realm of the Temple
Chapter 61 The Secret Realm of the Temple
Four hours passed in the blink of an eye...
Lin Mo and his companions were either fighting or on their way to fight.
Along the way, even they themselves didn't know how many mutants they had killed.
All I know is that I'm accumulating more and more material cards.
Finally, they navigated through the intricate maze and arrived at the central courtyard of the temple.
Here stands a massive mausoleum, about five meters above the ground, its surface engraved with various bizarre reliefs.
It occupies about one-third of the entire temple area.
However, Lin Mo and his group were not the only students to arrive here.
Around the tomb, a number of people were already sitting cross-legged.
Not far to the left of the group was a young man dressed in black mecha armor, whose face was not visible.
Behind it lay a huge, extraordinary-looking motorcycle-like creature.
Beside him was an unremarkable-looking girl, about seventeen or eighteen years old, wearing a baggy school uniform, who was dozing off on the back of an old turtle spirit.
Beside it stood a figure entirely formed of flames, somewhat resembling the Fire Man.
To the right of the group was a handsome young man seated on a bronze chariot.
He was dressed in a moon-white robe and carried a long sword; he appeared to be about seventeen or eighteen years old.
His eyes were slightly closed, his expression indifferent, as if he didn't care much about anything around him.
And at the very edge, there stood a beautiful and slender young woman.
Behind her stood a female Taoist healer and a female swordsman.
Lin Mo's gaze fell on the girl. He was taken aback at first, then said with some surprise, "Sister Chu Chu?"
This girl was none other than Fang Chuchu.
She looked up at the sound, her face lighting up with joy, and she quickly walked over: "Lin Mo!"
"Sister Chuchu, what are you doing here?"
Lin Mo asked with a smile, looking her up and down to make sure she was safe and sound, which put his mind at ease.
"I was teleported to this area as soon as I entered the rift. I saw a temple nearby and instinctively went in. As I walked, I ended up here, and not long after, I saw you coming out of that room!"
"You didn't encounter any mutants while you were alone?" Lin Mo frowned slightly.
"Yes, it took me a lot of effort to take them down."
Fang Chuchu patted her chest, then a glint of light appeared in her eyes: "By the way, speaking of this, I have to thank you for helping me improve the narrative structure before, which allowed me to successfully create a purple source card, and that's how I was able to get here smoothly."
"A purple source card? Congratulations, Sister Chuchu!"
Lin Mo was genuinely happy for her.
After saying that, he noticed that Jin Zhao and the others were looking at Fang Chuchu with some curiosity, so he gave a brief introduction.
He then looked at Fang Chuchu and asked, "By the way, Sister Chuchu, why are you all waiting here?"
As he spoke, his gaze swept over the people around him without making a sound.
"I don't know either,"
Fang Chuchu tilted her head slightly, her tone somewhat uncertain: "It seems one of them said something about it not being time to open yet?"
"What? It's not time to open yet?"
Lin Mo asked instinctively.
Just as Fang Chuchu was about to speak, the handsome young man beside her suddenly said, "A secret realm? This tomb is a small secret realm."
He slightly opened his eyes and glanced at Lin Mo and the others with some doubt, as if wondering why someone wouldn't even know this.
The handsome young man paused, then asked, "Didn't your elders tell you? So how did you find your way here?"
Lin Mo looked at Jin Zhao and the others, and seeing their equally confused expressions, he immediately understood.
This handsome young man is probably of extraordinary status, and it is highly likely that he has someone close to him in the rift, thus knowing some information in advance.
After a moment's thought, he immediately said, "We came all the way here and found this temple to be somewhat unusual, so we came in to take a look."
The handsome young man simply said "Oh," and then stopped paying attention and continued to close his eyes to rest.
It was as if the conversation just now was just a little interlude to pass the time.
Seeing this, Lin Mo and the others also found a quiet place to meditate and wait for the secret realm to open.
Suddenly, Lin Mo seemed to remember something, his gaze sharpening as he asked, "By the way, Sister Chu Chu, did you also enter through that largest temple?"
"yes!"
Fang Chuchu nodded.
"That's not right! If Sister Chu Chu had come in before us, those mutants couldn't still be there!"
Lin Mo frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, and asked, "Sister Chu Chu, what kind of mutant did you encounter in the first room?"
Fang Chuchu thought for a moment and said, "It seems like they were two catfish monsters?"
After listening, Lin Mo looked enlightened.
As expected, everyone faced a different aberration when entering the temple.
"This temple can actually change its power automatically based on the strength of those who enter?"
He murmured to himself, a slight smile playing on his lips, "Interesting."
Just then, many new faces appeared around the tomb.
Clearly, many people have noticed this temple complex.
Lin Mo looked around and found that most of the newcomers had blank expressions on their faces, probably like them, having come in by chance.
About an hour later, a melodious sound suddenly rang out.
The tomb gates slowly opened, and the people who had been concentrating with their eyes closed immediately opened them, their faces beaming with joy: "It's open!"
After saying that, they leaped into the tomb and were the first to enter.
Many people who didn't know what was going on also rushed in.
The central courtyard was emptied in an instant, leaving only Lin Mo and a few others.
"Let's hurry up and go!"
Upon seeing this, Jin Zhao immediately made a suggestion.
Lin Mo smiled slightly: "It's alright, it's good to let them scout ahead. Who knows what dangers this tomb might hold, there's no rush."
"That's true!"
After waiting outside for a while, the group entered the tomb.
Almost the instant they entered the tomb, a figure silently emerged from behind, glanced around, and then stealthily followed them inside.
The interior of the mausoleum.
Everyone stared in astonishment at the scene before them.
The interior of the tomb was completely blank, except for nine passageways leading downwards on the ground.
As far as the eye can see, it is pitch black, seemingly without end.
"How so?"
Zhen Xu subconsciously looked at Lin Mo.
The latter shook his head: "I just tried it, but I can't sense anything. There's no other way, I'll just pick one randomly!"
After saying that, Lin Mo wandered around in front of each passage and finally stopped at the entrance of the ninth passage.
"Shall we take this route?"
Fang Chuchu was the first to walk over; she trusted Lin Mo unconditionally.
The others exchanged glances and followed.
Soon everyone entered the ninth passage.
The passageway was pitch black, so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, but thankfully everyone had brought lighting cards.
Under the illumination of the lighting cards, the interior of the passageway instantly became as bright as day.
It looks like a man-made passage, with traces of carving visible on the surrounding rocks.
The passage is spiral-shaped, sloping downwards as if it has no end.
