Chapter 50 The Spider Nest Welcomes Its Strictest Father
Chapter 50 The Spider Nest Welcomes Its Strictest Father
Quirrell immediately grabbed the paper in one hand and Kane's hand holding the wand in the other: "If you want it, this, this piece of paper, you just need to leave it here, leave it here!"
At this moment, Professor Quirrell in Kane's eyes suddenly transformed into a beast who should be served the smallest Avada Kedavra.
"Oh, I don't want it then." Kane was very nonchalant and immediately gave up the book list. Then he suddenly tried to pull his arm away from Quirrell's hand, but couldn't.
"Professor, what's going on?" Kane asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Kay, Kane, I just want you to receive a real education, you..."
Before Professor Quirrell could finish speaking, the swamp that was baring its fangs and claws not far away suddenly doubled in size, and the tentacles were about to lash out at Quirrell, but before they could reach him, they were cut in two by two invisible magical forces.
Professor Quirrell was startled by this scene, seemingly not expecting Kane to actually dare to make a move. He immediately drew his wand, a red light guiding it. With a mere thought, he could dislodge Kane's wand from his grasp. After doing all this, he stared at Kane in shock: "You, you're going to fight, Professor?"
Kane shrugged. "Of course not."
After saying that, he didn't move the hand holding the wand. Instead, he reached into his pocket with his other hand and took out a panpipe.
"Goodbye, Professor, get some sleep." Kane said, then put the panpipes to his lips and played a circle from high to low.
Almost instantly, Quirrell felt an overwhelming sense of drowsiness wash over him, even from the Voldemort inside Quirrell's head.
The instant they heard the panpipes, a thought simultaneously flashed through their minds: they knew how to get past the Cerberus guarding the trapdoor unharmed, as long as they had the...
thump!
Poor Quirrell, he fell down.
Unlike Quirrell, who had already fallen asleep, Voldemort was much more alert. He quickly woke up from his drowsy state and, upon regaining control of Quirrell's body, found that Kane had long since disappeared.
"A special kind of innate dark magic..." Voldemort murmured as he used the Cruciatus Curse to frantically attack Quirrell's soul, bringing Quirrell back online after he had just logged off.
"Master, what did you say?" Quirrell asked tremblingly.
"I say, this young wizard possesses a new and unique kind of dark magic that is completely different from all the dark magic that has ever existed in the magical world before, and it is innate," Voldemort exclaimed.
"You mean, like Obscurus?" Quirrell asked.
"No, the Obscurial is a powerful being residing within the wizard's body, and this little wizard named Kanehis is himself a powerful being. I need his power. Could you prepare a magic circle for me, my most loyal servant?" Voldemort said quietly.
"Of course, such power is beyond the control of a small wizard. Of course, it needs you to wield it." Quirrell flattered him subconsciously. As for what would happen to Kane after his power was taken away, that was not within his consideration.
Meanwhile, in the principal's office.
"That Quirrell is disgusting," Kane said quietly, holding a cup of black tea. He was now regretting not kicking Quirrell a couple of times when Quirrell was hypnotized by the panpipes.
"Hmm." Dumbledore nodded as he watched the scenes unfolding in Quirrell's office through the crystal ball. "It seems they've got their eyes on you. Perhaps I should have assigned this task to a less conspicuous junior wizard. That was my mistake."
Kane looked at Dumbledore, whose expression hadn't changed at all, and wondered if he really thought it was his own fault.
"Well, at least this trip wasn't entirely fruitless. Professor Quirrell's reading list... emmm, I think his knowledge base is pretty good. Anyway, I'm off." Kane said, stuffing the reading list into his pocket and preparing to leave.
"Well, there's really no need to cram your schedule so full. Halloween is just around the corner, maybe you'd like to enjoy some time of fun before you start studying hard?" Dumbledore said, raising an eyebrow. He genuinely felt that Kane looked too tired.
"No need, Professor, I'm perfectly happy like this." Kane said, pushing open the door to the headmaster's office, where he saw Professor Snape, dressed in black and looking very cool and stylish.
"Ah, Mr. Heath, I have good news. The potion you need has been brewed ahead of schedule." Snape saw Kane there, raised his eyebrows, took a bottle of gray potion from his pocket, and handed it to Kane.
After all, seeing him here is convenient; there's no need to wait for a specific time or send him via courier.
"Thank you, Professor Snape." Kane took the potion and left the office.
"What kind of potion is that? You know, as you get older, your eyesight doesn't get so good," Dumbledore asked, driven by his curiosity about everything.
"It is clear that Mr. Heath obtained the token of the spider's nest from Hagrid, but he did not realize the possible relationship between the spider and Hagrid. Now, in order to erase the wrongdoings he has committed, he is using even crueler deception in the name of friendship."
Surprisingly, Snape didn't use a derogatory tone this time; he simply stated the facts in a matter-of-fact manner.
"Ah, someone who can brew their own amnesia potion certainly has guts," Dumbledore said with a smile, ever since he was dissed by Snape because of the crystal ball, he had been wanting to get revenge.
Unlike the warm and lively debate in the principal's office, Kane was curled up inside the large hat of the spirit particle decomposer, reading a book. He felt that this increased his learning efficiency to a terrifying degree.
At this moment, Harry and Ron saw him as someone who could be sent to a mental hospital.
"Halloween is in two days. Pushing Kane out like this will surely get us a lot of candy," Ron remarked, watching the scene unfold.
Harry nodded, then shook his head. After all, he had never gone trick-or-treating on Halloween while living with the Dursleys, though Dudley did every year.
However, unlike other children who would cause trouble if they weren't given candy, Dudley wouldn't stop causing trouble unless he was given candy...
God knows why someone like that is considered a good boy by his aunt and uncle?
Kane, sitting in his hat, glanced at Harry and Ron, two mere mortals, then picked up another book. Just as Harry and Ron were being pressured, he had already finished reading it.
In short...boring mortals,
evening.........
After finishing their meal in the Great Hall, Harry, carrying the takeout food, and Ron tapped the large hat of the Spirit Particle Decomposer.
Kane, now inside the hat, has finally thoroughly understood the last book on Quirrell's reading list. It's time for him to venture into the Forbidden Forest and try out his new magic.
When Kane climbed out of the hat, he thought he was now a ruthless wizard. He planned to go to the Forbidden Forest to kill some spiders, erase some memories, stockpile some materials, and then get some sleep.
Then, after the house-elf's cooking was stuffed into his mouth, he was instantly delighted, and all his goodness and humanity returned. What more could he say? The plan to slaughter the spiders...
Although I still feel bad for Hagrid... I'll say it again.
He couldn't act impulsively. He had also learned from the professors that the only one with a deep bond with Hagrid was the spider leader Aragog. As for the other spiders? They were just contributing to the ecological security of the Forbidden Forest.
Harry and Ron watched Kane, whose expression could change ten or more times during a meal... This time, they didn't even make eye contact; they were used to it by now.
Late at night, the Forbidden Forest spider nest welcomed its most stern father.
Kane quickly recalled the route he had taken with the little spider last time and found Aragog once again.
However, before Aragog could even utter a sound, and before its offspring could even launch an attack on Kane, Kane simply waved his wand, and the little spiders fell into a deep, infant-like sleep.
He first poured the amnesia potion Snape had concocted into Aragog's mouth. According to Snape, this potion could erase all memories from the past month. Then came the usual process of collecting materials.
Lots of spider webs, spider glands, monster meat, followed by some ordinary materials like wood, grass, stones, and reeds. When he had collected almost everything, he was about to leave the Forbidden Forest and return to the castle.
"Oh... what a lucky day! What a stroke of good fortune!"
Kane also gave a bitter smile.
"Who can argue with that, Professor Quirrell?"
