Chapter 725: The beast king

Xerome felt that this woman might actually be the one for him; they were clicking together just perfectly.

After they had eaten a couple of things, Xerome paid the bill then they walked out of the cafe together. They exchanged numbers and decided to go watch a movie together.

Xerome messaged Viser that he finally found the one. After around a dozen minutes, Xerome and that woman entered the dark cinema hall. They sat together and talked about different things as if they had known each other for a long time.

But before the movie even started, both Xerome and that woman had disappeared from inside the hall. That woman had attacked him all of a sudden, and Xerome was not even able to see her attack, let alone dodge it.

It took only a moment for him to fall unconscious as the woman held his limp body and took him away.

"Who knows where he might be, maybe he is already dead." The fake Xerome spoke with a loud laugh.

Jayden didn’t react and just stared at him. He could still feel a connection with Xerome, but the strange thing was that the connection that he felt was pointing towards the man standing in front of him.

Whether it be physical or habitual, everything about this person was exactly the same as Xerome—the energy, the blood, the scent, the family connection. It was impossible to recognize him at all; this person even possessed most of Xerome’s memories.

While Jayden was ready to attack him, he also wondered about the identity of the fake Xerome. Aside from the disguise skills, his strength was nothing to scoff at. He was definitely one of the powerhouses of the universe.

"Jayden, be careful, he is the strongest beast in the entire beast tribe and also..." With a brief pause, Anna added: "He is the beast tribe King."

’Beast tribe King is a beast? I thought beasts were the pets there; aren’t they just creatures the people of the beast tribe grow?’ Jayden asked in his mind while keeping his gaze on the enemy in front of him.

"Apparently no, there is one of the biggest secrets in the beast tribe. Anyway, this beast king is very strong, he stays hidden from other races and uses a fake king to represent the tribe. I never fought him before but he has some really annoying abilities, and taking others’ form is one of them." Anna explained.

’Then why am I feeling Xerome’s connection from his body? Actually, everything about him is exactly similar to Xerome to the very last detail. How could that be?’ Jayden questioned. They were both conversing at an extremely fast speed, so not much time had passed.

"He is neither alive nor dead, he is in a kind of strange state, but yeah, he is still not completely dead. Hey, I love this game, why don’t we go for another round?"

After the beast king suggested, Jayden nodded, so the fake Xerome began to ask: "Do you have the dimensional stone?"

Jayden was not expecting this type of question, but hearing it told him one thing: that the Coven has yet to release the news of the dimensional stone in Emma’s body, or maybe he is just acting.

"Yes, I have." Jayden answered in a plain tone, then he asked his question: "What’s your reason for coming here?"

"Well, I am here to find a few things. Things like my daughter that you have taken away from me. Why don’t you return her to me now?" The beast king spoke with his gaze locked onto Jayden’s arm. It was obvious he was talking about Eve.

’Eve is his daughter?!!’ Jayden exclaimed in his head.

"Haven’t you already given her to Bael? So why are you trying to take her back?" Jayden asked.

"Hey, it was supposed to be my turn to ask the question now, but anyway, I will answer that for you.

The things you have heard about me giving her to Bael for killing Belphegor, all of that is not true. He had one of my weaknesses and, using that, he took my precious daughter away.

He treated her so badly, but after a long time, I was finally able to bring Bael down and when I went to take my daughter I found that someone else had stolen her from Bael.

And so, wouldn’t it be better if you just handed her over to me, her father?" The beast king answered.

"So you want her, huh? Bring Xerome here and I’ll give her to you." Jayden spoke without showing any emotions.

"Tsk tsk, it seems you don’t understand your circumstances yet." The beast king said.
