Chapter 843: Mud-Worm
Jayden was approaching the castle along with two madly beautiful ladies; both of them were goddesses.
"I- I pay my respect to the king," the puppet goblin King bowed just like the rest of the goblins and hit his head on the ground without any shame.
"You can stand." Jayden slowly landed in front of Gordan and looked all around; this place had become even better than before. It seems he was working quite hard.
The fighters were training, and everything now seemed much more organized. Jayden only planned to stay here for some time and have a talk with this king.
"P- Please come inside, I’ll immediately prepare the best food there is for you," Gordan said, but Jayden shook his head and asked:
"Have you recently encountered any kind of trouble?"
"Trouble... It’s not really trouble, but lately, many other races have been approaching and asking to provide our forces to them during the tournament.
Some approached with forceful tactics, while some tried to plead or threaten. I obviously have refused them all," Gordan spoke, raising his head slightly, but he still remained on the ground.@@@@
All the other goblins didn’t even raise their heads.
’H- He has become even more terrifying than before. Even though he is not releasing any pressure, my heart feels like it’s about to burst.’
The large green Goblin thought; his own strength was quite high, but he couldn’t even begin to fathom Jayden’s strength.
He was sure that he wouldn’t last in front of Jayden for more than one second.
"Hmmm, I did expect that. You can contact me if any of the races try to launch an attack." While speaking, he turned his gaze toward the ground, narrowing his eyes; he focused on something.
Gordan felt curious, but he held in his curiosity and replied, "Y- Yes, my lord, if I am unable to protect this planet, only then will I trouble you.
So far, none of the races have made any moves, though some of the persistent ones kept sending notices after notices."
"But are you growing those bugs?" Jayden asked, his gaze still fixed on the ground.
"Huh? What bugs?" Gordan finally looked at Jayden in confusion. They do eat bugs, but they don’t really farm them.
Since on this planet, the species of the bugs also have high reproductive ability similar to the goblins, they sometimes have to kill a lot of them to keep their numbers in check.
"That is a Mud Worm. I have heard about them before, but they look bigger and much more disgusting in person. This bug is making even the goblins look nice," Ada commented, walking to stand by Jayden’s side.
"You know about it?" Jayden asked, stopping the worm from rolling in the air.
"I have heard a little about them before. This bug was created not too long ago. Although they aren’t very dangerous since even a normal man from Earth could kill this creature with a simple knife.
They don’t have skin and only flesh, as you see, which makes it easier to hurt them. Plus, they are not very aggressive creatures. Even if someone attacks them, their first instinct would be to escape.
But if these worms are left in the ground, they hold the power to even devour the entire planet from the inside. They would turn it hollow, and soon everything would crumble until nothing remains.
With the end of the planet, their lives also come to an end.
Also, if you keep them exposed to the air for too long, their flesh would start to shrivel, and they will soon start to suffer. Even normal air will be like fire for them," Ada explained.
"You have heard a lot. Do these kinds of bugs exist on this planet?" Jayden asked, turning his gaze toward Gordan, who had calmed down finally.
"No, I have never even seen something like this. I don’t know how it ended up here," the goblin King replied.
"Normally, their size is around the same as a finger. Since this worm has grown to that size, that means it must have been having a party underground for the past few days."
Ada shared her thoughts, and her words surprised them all. After all, the bug was so big now, it was hard to imagine that it really was only the size of a finger originally.
"That means someone from the other race must have placed it here.
They planned to take away this planet from you and then turn all the goblins into slaves and use them as disposable assets in the tournament," Jayden said.
There might be some other reason behind it, but this was the most obvious. Then he looked at Ada and asked:
"Do you have any idea who could have sent this worm here?"
"Yeah, have you heard about a race called Genari? This must be one of their inventions. I am sure of it."
