Chapter 480: Overwhelming Power
Masabi smashed into the ground with a thunderous impact, the force of his landing sending shockwaves through the earth. He landed between the blackened creature with widespread wings and glowing red eyes, and a man covered in blood, his body marked with signs of pain and exhaustion.
The creature’s wings unfurled, casting an ominous shadow over the battlefield.
Its eyes burned with a malevolent glow, and it let out a guttural roar that shook the very air.
The man, despite his battered appearance, stood his ground, determination etched into his features.
Masabi straightened his back up and glanced at the girl, ensuring she was unharmed, before turning his full attention to the battle unfolding before him. The ground beneath his feet was scorched and cracked.
Masabi looked at the girl and reassured her, "Good, you’re okay for now." He grabbed her by the back collar and flung her behind his back. She screamed as she zoomed dozens of feet into the air, her white hair whipping around wildly.
The man covered in blood and slash marks behind him shouted, "What the hell do you think you’re doing?!"
Masabi glanced over at the human, watching as he tapped the bottom of his leg. Bolts of lightning fizzed around him, and he quickly jumped off the ground, flying back 40 feet. He caught the girl mid-air before gently dropping her down behind a dumpster.
"Hello, little lady," he said softly, brushing his hand through her white hair. A small red dot hovered above her face. "Are you okay?"
"Ye-yes, that man saved me. All I remember was a normal morning with my parents and then some dark creature came from the floor and—" she started bawling, her small frame shaking with sobs.
Gojaro placed a finger over her lips, his touch gentle yet firm. "That’s enough. My name is Gojaro, and I promise that nightmare is done and over with."
The massive beast dove toward Masabi and Gojaro, slamming its fist into the ground. The impact sent tremors through the earth, and hundreds of zombies emerged from the ground, the rubble and dirt almost spurting out as they clawed their way up. Their decaying bodies were flung toward the two warriors.
Gojaro’s eyes widened in shock. "How the hell do you have more?!" he shouted, bracing himself as the first wave of zombies hurtled towards them.
Masabi moved with swift precision, his body a blur of motion. He unleashed a flurry of powerful strikes, each one sending zombies crashing to the ground. The green energy around him intensified, creating a protective barrier that disintegrated any undead that came too close.
"Go ahead and sit down, I have some questions for you. Move an inch, and I will kill you myself," Masabi commanded, his voice cold and unwavering.
Gojaro felt an intense pressure run down his spine as disgust, anger, and fear crashed into him. Masabi darted forward towards the creature, his movements a blur of speed and precision. His martial arts style, a blend of karate, Muay Thai, and boxing, combined with his angelic power, made him a formidable opponent. Stay connected with empire
Masabi’s first strike was a powerful roundhouse kick that connected with the creature’s jaw, sending it staggering back. He followed with a flurry of punches, each one hitting with bone-crushing force. The creature roared in pain as Masabi’s fists pounded its ribcage, breaking bones with each strike.
"I am surprised that the screener let you through. Those two usually aren’t like that," the creature snarled, spitting blood.
Masabi smirked. "Oh, they begged for their lives and spilled secrets before I killed them," he mocked, his tone dripping with contempt.
With a swift knee to the creature’s midsection, Masabi heard the satisfying crunch of ribs breaking. He then grabbed its arm, twisting it behind its back and snapping the elbow joint with a brutal jerk. The creature howled in agony, its body convulsing from the pain.
"Who are you exactly?" Masabi demanded, slamming the creature’s head into the ground.
The creature struggled to speak, its voice strained. "I am a harbinger, a messenger of destruction. You cannot stop what is coming."
