From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 516 Spider Kaiju

Chapter 516 Spider Kaiju

For a brief moment, everything fell silent. The liquid disappeared, and the crowd, even those filming, paused as if collectively holding their breath.

The Director lowered his weapon, eyes narrowing. "Did I kill the creature already?" he muttered, doubt creeping into his voice as he surveyed the eerily quiet surroundings.

Moments later, the ground rumbled slightly beneath him, and a group of soldiers dressed in black armor with sleek white lines came rushing toward him, rifles in hand. The Director's eyes caught the shine of their gear—it was unlike anything he had seen before.

"Director!" one of the soldiers called out in Chinese, their voices quick and urgent. "We're here per the instructions of Commander Li Won Where is the threat?"

The Director's eyes flickered toward the rifles they were carrying. "What rifles are those?" he asked, ignoring their question for a moment.

"Newly designed," the soldier responded, his voice steady but proud. "They're meant to puncture armored flesh. Our science division developed them using armor samples from the Kaiju that appeared last month. We've also incorporated parts of its flesh into these suits, for additional durability."

The Director gave a short nod, impressed despite the circumstances. He was about to respond when a sudden explosion echoed high above them. His head snapped upward, eyes locking onto the sky.

The Director watched in alarm as the black liquid spiraled and expanded toward the sky, twisting and writhing as if it were alive. What the hell?

His hand instinctively went to the side of his head, tapping his comms. "Gojaro, status report now!"

"Sir, I have the gem in hand..." Gojaro's voice crackled through the earpiece, tense and rushed. "But what the hell is that? Shit, we're getting out of here—let's go, Valaria!" The young woman was on his back, clutching the gem tightly as they made their escape.

Without hesitation, the Director turned to Gojaro. "Just teleport back from here. Don't worry about being seen. It's fine."

Gojaro gave a curt nod, understanding the urgency. "Of course," he replied, reaching for a watch-like device on his wrist. As he clasped it, readying to activate the teleportation, a sudden, sharp movement from below caught the Director's eye.

A strand of black liquid shot up from the ground in a blink, cutting through the air with a terrifying speed. It sliced clean through Gojaro's teleportation band, rendering it useless.

Before either of them could react, a dozen more black strands erupted from the ground, hurtling toward them. One pierced Gojaro's side with a sickening precision. His body twisted in the air, narrowly dodging another strike aimed at his neck.

The Director surged forward, adrenaline kicking in. "Dodge!" he shouted, but Gojaro was already moving, reacting on pure instinct.

As he dodged, the ground below them shook violently. From the fractured streets below, a massive spider-like creature burst forth. Its yellow skin gleamed under the light, black lines crisscrossing its grotesque form. Its face was contorted, disturbingly human, with eyes full of malicious intelligence.

The creature opened its maw wide, revealing rows of sharp teeth, and lunged at Gojaro, intent on swallowing him whole.

In a flash, the Director's eyes widened as he saw Gojaro's body tense up, his face turning an alarming shade of purple.

"Shit, some kind of poison," Gojaro gasped, his voice strained as he struggled to move. With a final burst of strength, he twisted his body to the right, using the last of his energy to hurl Valaria off his side. She tumbled through the air, her small form landing several feet away as he shouted, "Do—!"

Before he could finish, the massive creature's jaws clamped down on him with a sickening crunch.

The sound echoed through the air, a moment of horror freezing the Director in place for only a second. His heart hammered in his chest, but there was no time to process the scene unfolding.
