Chapter 540 Kern Wounded
Chapter 540 Kern Wounded
As the realization hit him, Ty's eyes darted to the side, where Kern was locked in a deadly dance with two opponents. The man with blue glasses and the white-haired woman were flanking him, their attacks synchronized, forcing Kern into a defensive stance. His scimitars flashed in the low light, deflecting blows, but it was clear he was struggling to keep up.
"They want Kern dead," Ty thought, his frustration building. He wanted to help, but the man in front of him wouldn't give him the chance. Each time Ty moved, the bulky man was there, blocking his path, his fists crashing into the ground, forcing Ty to react instead of act.
Kern's voice cut through the chaos, laced with a mix of anger and desperation. "You think two of you can take me? You'll need more than that!"
The white-haired woman teleported behind him, her dagger gleaming as she struck at his back, but Kern was quick, spinning around and catching her blade with his scimitar. "Nice try," he snarled, pushing her back, only for the man with blue glasses to attack from the opposite side. Kern barely had time to turn, raising his second scimitar to block the strike, sparks flying as their blades clashed.@@@@
The man with blue glasses smirked. "You're skilled, but we've accounted for that. We've studied your every move. You can't win this."
Kern's expression hardened as he bared his teeth, pushing back with every ounce of strength he had, but the pressure was mounting. Ty could see it—the attacks were perfectly timed, designed to wear him down, to leave him no room to breathe.
Ty ducked another strike from the tribal-marked man, his heart racing as frustration boiled over. The man wasn't even trying to land a fatal blow. He was just stalling, buying time while the others took down Kern.
Rosana, on the opposite side of the battlefield, was engaged in her own brutal fight. The red-haired woman with glowing silver veins was manipulating the ground beneath her, causing spikes of earth to jut up from the ground, forcing Rosana to dodge and weave with every movement.
Rosana's claws glinted in the low light as she deflected a spike aimed for her chest, growling in frustration. "You're not going to trap me!" she hissed, lunging forward, her gauntlet slashing through the air. The sound of metal tearing through the wind echoed as her claws collided with the red-haired woman's earth barrier, shattering it into shards of rock and dust.
"Kern!" Ty's voice rang out, but Kern was too slow to move.
The blade sank into his shoulder, tearing through muscle and flesh. Kern let out a choked gasp, his body locking up as pain shot through him. His scimitars slipped from his hands, clattering to the ground with a heavy thud.
The white-haired woman smiled coldly as she twisted the blade. "You're not so tough without those weapons, are you?"
Kern fell to one knee, blood dripping from his wound, his vision swimming. He tried to push himself up, but his arms wouldn't obey. "Damn it..." he muttered through gritted teeth, his hands trembling as he reached for his fallen blades.
"Get away from him!" Gisorn's voice cut through the chaos, and a gunshot rang out. The white-haired woman teleported just as the bullet whizzed past, reappearing a few feet away with a mocking grin. "You'll have to do better than that."
Gisorn cursed under his breath, reloading his rifle. His calm demeanor was beginning to crack as he realized just how coordinated their enemies were. He fired another shot, but the woman blinked out of existence once again, appearing behind him this time.
"You missed again," she whispered into his ear, her breath cold against his neck. Gisorn spun around, his rifle raised, but she was gone, her laughter echoing around him as she continued to play with him.
Meanwhile, Ty was done holding back.
The man with the tribal markings advanced on him again, fists glowing with raw energy. Every punch he threw sent shockwaves through the air, forcing Ty to dodge and weave, but Ty had had enough.
