Chapter 587: Murderous intent

Chapter 587: Murderous intent

Just as Alexander began to respond, a voice broke through the tense air, dripping with mockery. "You so sure?"

Electricity sparked suddenly, crackling in the air. The electric hum intensified, and a faint shimmer appeared beside them—Fernando’s face materialized, his lips curved in a sly grin.@@@@

Meanwhile, back in the viewing room, Alexander’s father leaned back on the plush couch, his gaze fixed on the screen in front of him. He watched the scene unfold, his expression unreadable, except for the glint of satisfaction in his eyes. He took a slow sip of the wine in his hand, savoring the rich taste.

"Perfect," he murmured, his voice low, almost a whisper. "Now let’s see how you do, now that your plan has turned to rubbish. Show them what it truly means to be the strongest of the Titanis bloodline, my son."

He leaned forward, the corners of his lips lifting slightly as he continued to watch, anticipation sparking in his eyes.

Back to the action, Fernando mocked as the electric currents danced around his form, his voice dripping with arrogance. Meilin spun around, trying to assess the situation, but the electricity coiled around her, closing in like a snake.

"No, no, no," Fernando mocked, his eyes gleaming with sadistic glee. "Something about taking down pretty ladies who are loved by this kingdom just sends a thrill down my spine, you know?"

Meilin grimaced, her muscles tensed as the electric pulses crawled across her skin, her jaw clenched in pain. "Who are you?" she managed, her voice strained.

Alexander’s eyes widened, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched Fernando’s cruel smirk. He shouted, his voice echoing through the chaos, "What the hell is going on? Are you some wandering assassin trying to get a kill?!"

Fernando chuckled darkly, his head tilting slightly as the rest of his form began to manifest, the electricity still crackling around him. "I do like that title when I’m killing nobles, but for today..." He paused, his eyes locking onto Alexander’s, a cruel smile pulling at his lips, his voice dropping to a slow drawl. "For today, I am simply known as... a king."

The words hung in the air like a blade ready to fall, each syllable stretching out, taunting them.

Jui-Lao’s fists clenched, his glare fixed on Fernando. "You’ve got some nerve," he growled, his voice low and filled with restrained fury. "Showing up here, doing this."

"Did you think it would be that easy?" Fernando taunted, his body shimmering as he leaped upward, his electric form zipping towards the nearest tree. The lightning carried him, wrapping around branches and trunk until he perched above them, watching with a twisted grin.

Alexander was there before Fernando could catch his breath, moving with a speed that defied logic. He appeared behind Fernando, his fist already in motion, descending like a hammer. Fernando turned, his eyes widening in surprise, trying to bring up his own electric energy to counter.

"Temporal Distortion!" Alexander shouted, his voice filled with authority. His fist collided with Fernando’s chest, the world around them seeming to slow as time twisted at Alexander’s command.

Fernando barely had a moment to react. The sudden shift in the air felt like a jarring crack in reality, his body struggling against an unseen force. "How did someone of his size get behind me so quickly?" he thought, his mind scrambling for answers. Then came the realization—this wasn’t just speed. No, this was something far more terrifying. It was Alexander’s skill, the one he had heard whispers about. Temporal Distortion—the power to bend time itself.

"No matter," Fernando snarled to himself. He gathered the energy inside his core, feeling it build like the rising charge of a storm. "I can just phase and wrap around his punch... fry his brain." His body began to shimmer, part of it dematerializing into raw electric energy as he moved to escape.

But it was too late.

As he phased halfway out of existence, Fernando saw the green glow surrounding Alexander’s fist grow brighter, cracks of energy racing across Alexander’s arm. The force felt like the air had frozen, everything in its place as time itself bent to Alexander’s will.

"Wait, no," Fernando’s thoughts came in a frantic rush, the realization hitting him like a punch to the gut. "This is Alexander, the world’s self-proclaimed strongest!" He remembered the reports, the warnings, every shred of information he had gathered about Alexander before coming into the Arena of Life. "I can’t engage him like this!"

Desperately, he brought both hands forward, electricity coalescing at his fingertips as he fought against the inevitable. Half his body formed, and with a scream, he shot out a powerful shockwave of electricity, his body propelling backward. He felt the jolt travel through him, pushing him away from the crushing force of Alexander’s fist.

But the relief was short-lived. The next instant, he felt the same invisible force pulling him right back. The time-bending energy twisted reality around him as if Alexander had anchored Fernando to the point of impact. His eyes widened, heart pounding, as suddenly, Alexander disappeared.

"No!" Fernando’s panic turned to horror as he felt time snap back into place. A fist materialized before his eyes, green energy cascading in sharp pulses along Alexander’s arm, a solid mass that collided with his chest. His ribs cracked instantly, the force crushing the air out of his lungs, his vision filling with blinding light.

The next thing Fernando knew, his back slammed into the ground, the earth giving way under the power of the impact. A deafening explosion echoed around them, the ground itself quaking as the blow sent a plume of dust and debris shooting skyward. Trees toppled, their trunks splintering from the shockwave. Dirt flew, leaving a massive crater in the earth where Fernando lay.

Alexander kept his fist pressed down, the muscles in his arm bulging, his green energy continuing to surge, locking Fernando in place. As the dust began to settle, Alexander looked down at his hand—burnt black, the smell of charred skin filling the air. Bits of Fernando’s blood splattered across Alexander’s face, the crimson contrasting against his cold, emotionless eyes.
