Chapter 683: Rusuf Slices

Chapter 683: Rusuf Slices

Tressa stumbled as her control faltered, her portals flickering out as she tried to reorient herself. Ronnick cursed under his breath, his spiders scuttling into a defensive formation. Rusuf turned his head slightly toward them, his expression calm but unyielding.

"You adapt well," he said quietly. "But not well enough."

The scarred fighter groaned from his position near the wall, his battered body trying to rise but failing. Tressa’s liquid coiled at her feet, her hands trembling as she prepared another strike. Ronnick’s remaining spiders clustered closer, their legs clicking anxiously.

Rusuf’s blade glimmered faintly as he stepped forward, his movements deliberate as he advanced on the trio. shock and tremor.

Tressa’s hands trembled as she gathered her liquid, the black mass swirling and shifting in chaotic patterns. Her portals flickered faintly at her sides, each one unstable from the strain she was putting on them. Across the battlefield, Ronnick crouched low, his remaining spiders forming a defensive arc around him. His jaw was clenched tight, a bead of sweat rolling down his temple as his fingers twitched with precision.

"You’ve pushed us hard enough," Ronnick muttered, his voice low but resolute. "No more holding back."

Tressa exhaled sharply, steadying herself. "Agreed."

Rusuf tilted his head, sensing the shift in their energy. His grip on his sword tightened slightly, his sightless gaze focusing on the two remaining Black Bulls. He didn’t move, waiting for them to make the first move. "Show me," he said softly, his tone almost encouraging.

Tressa struck first. Her black liquid surged upward, not in its usual tendrils but as a massive dome that enclosed the three of them. The liquid churned and rippled, blotting out the harsh arena lights and creating an eerie, enclosed battlefield. From the outside, the crowd erupted into murmurs, drones buzzing closer to capture the action as the liquid shimmered, its surface impenetrable to the naked eye.

Inside, Tressa’s portals multiplied, spinning like gears in a massive, shifting machine. Her liquid shot through them, each tendril moving unpredictably, striking at Rusuf from every angle. For the first time, it wasn’t just an attack—it was a labyrinth of motion, the tendrils working in tandem to box Rusuf in.

Ronnick’s spiders moved next, their legs clicking in perfect synchronization as they darted into the fray. Each one launched bursts of energy that ricocheted off the liquid walls, creating a web of blinding flashes and sharp, deafening cracks. The arena seemed alive with movement, every corner of the enclosed space a potential threat.

Rusuf moved with precision, his sword cutting through the chaos as he parried the liquid strikes and dodged the energy bursts. But the space was tightening around him. The tendrils grew faster, the energy bursts more coordinated. His energy vision flared, tracking each movement with perfect clarity, but even he could feel the pressure mounting.

For a brief moment, it seemed like the tide had turned.

The violet liquid surged again, carving through the air in jagged waves as Tressa pushed her newfound power to its limits. The ground beneath her rippled with energy, the liquid forming massive constructs that smashed into the walls of the dome, their edges cracking from the force. Her breathing was labored, but her resolve burned brighter than ever.

Ronnick, still fighting alongside her, controlled his swarm of mechanical spiders with renewed intensity. Their synchronized movements created a lattice of attacks that darted around Tressa’s liquid strikes, forcing Rusuf to move constantly. Each spider unleashed bursts of crackling energy that ricocheted unpredictably, boxing Rusuf in with coordinated chaos.

But even as the battlefield seemed to shift in their favor, Rusuf remained unnervingly calm. His sword moved like an extension of his body, cutting through tendrils of liquid and severing spiders mid-leap with precision so sharp it seemed almost rehearsed. His form blurred as he sidestepped explosions, his blind eyes unerringly tracking every threat.

"You’re trying to overwhelm me," Rusuf said softly, his voice carrying a quiet weight. "But you’re forgetting one thing."

In a flash, he moved. His sword lashed out, striking one of Ronnick’s spiders as it lunged toward him. The machine split in half, its pieces clattering to the ground before vanishing in a shimmer of golden light. Rusuf’s hand flicked, and another spider was flung into the air, where it exploded harmlessly above them.

Ronnick cursed under his breath, his hands moving in a blur as he tried to command the remaining swarm. "You’re not invincible," he snarled, his voice tense.

Rusuf’s head tilted slightly. "No. But you are predictable."

In a single, fluid motion, Rusuf closed the distance between them. Ronnick barely had time to react before Rusuf’s blade swept upward, cutting through the cluster of spiders surrounding him. The explosions forced Ronnick to stumble back, his footing faltering as he tried to retreat.

Tressa’s violet liquid surged to intercept, forming a barrier between Ronnick and Rusuf. The shimmering wall pulsed with energy, its edges jagged and sharp. For a moment, it seemed like it would hold. But Rusuf raised his free hand, the air around him rippling with energy. The barrier shuddered, its surface distorting before it collapsed inward, the liquid falling harmlessly to the ground.

"Tressa!" Ronnick shouted, but Rusuf was already there.

The blind swordsman’s blade moved like a blur, striking Ronnick’s shoulder with the flat edge and forcing him to his knees. Before Ronnick could recover, Rusuf’s hand brushed his chest, and the energy around them shifted. Ronnick’s body vanished in a flash, reappearing several feet away where Heriean and the scarred fighter lay crumpled.

He groaned as he tried to push himself up, but his body betrayed him, his strength spent.
