Chapter 410: Final Chapter At Last! (Completed)
The Moon Dragon God, Selene, revealing herself proactively was a bit beyond Nate’s expectations. Her ability to casually traverse worlds made Nate more than a little envious.
If he wanted to travel between different worlds, it wasn’t anywhere near that easy.
“Since you know you’re being watched, you still dare to come see me?”
“Just out of curiosity. You killed the Water Dragon God and the Wood Dragon God—are you trying to wipe out all the dragons?”
Selene sat high beneath the ceiling, elegant and unhurried.
From what she could sense, Nate’s magic power was terrifyingly strong—no wonder he’d been able to handle those two.
Nate smiled. “Let me correct one thing: I didn’t kill the Water Dragon God. He’s alive and well.”
“The Master of the Magic Network—what is your objective?” Selene neither confirmed nor denied anything.
“The Hundred Years Quest.”
The moment the words left his mouth, Nate made his move.
Several pitch-black chains shot violently out of a magic circle, instantly winding around the Moon Dragon God.
Selene had been prepared. The instant Nate acted, she countered.
Her lunar magic was spatial magic—she could freely move through time-space dimensions and travel between worlds.
With a light tap of her finger, the space-time around Nate was split apart and sent into another dimension.
“Hm?”
Nate let out a small, surprised sound, thinking: That cast speed is fast.
But spatial magic? He wasn’t bad at that either.
With a thought, using a Flying Thunder God mark, Nate vanished from the alternate space and returned in an instant.
Seeing him reappear unharmed, Selene’s expression shifted.
Their exchange lasted less than half a second.
And the moment Nate returned, the black chains had already bound Selene tight.
“Dragon-Taming Art!”
Selene’s face changed as she clearly felt her will being suppressed by an overwhelming force.
“What kind of magic is this?”
“Magic designed specifically to counter your dragon kind.”
Nate chuckled softly, yanked hard—and the Moon Dragon God immediately fell from her perch, crashing to the floor with a heavy thud.
Only then did the Queen of Fairies react. She blinked.
“That’s it? It’s over?”
“My magic just happens to counter hers.”
Nate shook his head.
If they fought to the death, the Moon Dragon God would be hard to catch if she tried to flee—thankfully, Dragon-Taming Art made things easier.
Bound tightly by black chains, Selene glared at Nate with furious, beautiful eyes.
“Damn human! What do you want?”
“How about a deal? Take me to the Fire Dragon God and the Gold Dragon God, and I’ll spare your life.”
“How am I supposed to trust you?”
Nate immediately raised a finger and began tracing symbols in the air.
Runes of magic quickly formed into a magical contract, drifting down in front of the Moon Dragon God.
“Pour magic into it to sign. Whoever breaks the contract will be severely punished.”
“And what exactly is the punishment—do you know about mana leakage syndrome?”
“Your magic power will spill out until it’s drained dry.”
For human mages, that was fatal. For dragons, it wasn’t quite as devastating.
Selene’s mind stirred, and she signed the contract at once.
“I agree.”
The contract took effect, turning into two streaks of black light that sank into dragon and human alike.
In truth, the contract was fake—or rather, it was a one-sided contract.
It couldn’t restrain Nate at all. It could only restrain Selene.
Selene could guess as much, but in her current situation, she had no choice but to accept.
“Then let’s go.”
Nate smiled lightly and tilted his chin in a wordless gesture.
Selene took a deep breath and silently activated her teleportation ability.
The two vanished from the room together.
Over the next stretch of time, with Selene leading the way, Nate found the Fire Dragon God and the Gold Dragon God one after another.
The Fire Dragon God, Ignia, was Igneel’s biological son. Nate held back—he only used Dragon-Taming Art to restrain him temporarily.
As for the Gold Dragon God, Viernes, his situation was more complicated.
This dragon had refined his body into the Golden Owl Guild and attached his consciousness to the guild—he was a conceptual dragon.
Nate brought Wendy over and, with the help of her enchantment separation technique, extracted the Gold Dragon God’s consciousness.
At that point—
All five Dragon Gods described in the Hundred Years Quest had been dealt with by Nate.
The Water Dragon God, the Wood Dragon God, the Moon Dragon God, the Fire Dragon God, and the Gold Dragon God.
But just like how the “Four Heavenly Kings” somehow always end up being five—
Beyond the Five Dragon Gods, there was also a sixth.
The Earth Dragon God: Dogramag!
With a “since we’re already here” attitude, Nate ordered Selene to take him to the sixth dragon.
This dragon had once been defeated by Elefseria, and his magic power had become the Great Labyrinth…
After Nate revived him, the dragon’s human appearance was that of a tall, powerfully built Black man, with stone-like ring patterns across his chest and a cross-shaped scar.
Against Nate, who had reached the realm of gods, the Earth Dragon God was no match and was defeated easily.
In the end, the six Dragon Gods of Guiltina on the northern continent were all dealt with by Nate in less than half a month.
The Hundred Years Quest officially came to an end.
…
Magia Dragon Guild.
Elefseria spoke with visible excitement:
“Thank you so much for your help, Nate-san. As for the quest reward…”
“You can keep my reward.”
The quest reward was the granting of one wish.
Nate wasn’t interested. A “wish for anything” always has an upper limit—it isn’t truly omnipotent.
At the very least, it needs to be something that “exists in this world.”
Nate waved a hand and turned to leave.
“Other people will want their reward. Give my share to everyone.”
As for what wishes Natsu and the others chose, Nate didn’t care to know.
For him, everything on the northern continent was completely settled.
…
One month later.
Fairy Tail Guild.
As noisy as ever—Natsu and Gray were fighting again, and Elfman and the others jumped into the brawl too.
Nate sat at the bar, sipping a drink.
Mirajane, helplessly cupping her cheek, said with a troubled smile:
“My, my… they’re as reckless as ever, Natsu and the rest.”
“Let them. Once they’re done, have Ultear fix it back up.”
Nate suddenly asked, “Where’s the master?”
“The Magic Council has been busy lately cleaning out some dark guilds. The master went too.”
“Is that so?”
“Yep.”
Mirajane smiled gently. “Nate—what are you planning to do with the future magic internet?”
“There’s no need for me to develop it alone anymore. I’ve fully made the development manual public to the entire network. From now on, anyone can add their own sequel to the internet.”
Nate sighed with feeling.
“You’ve got to trust everyone’s wisdom. The internet from here on out is going to be even more amazing, right~?”
