Chapter 88 Nyx
Chapter 88 Nyx
Realizing he couldn't just leave the dragon on the table, Arlon thought of his next steps. First, he needed to learn more about it.
He activated the Eyes of K*T** and focused on the creature.
***
Unnamed Baby Dragon (???)
"A newborn dragon of unknown origins. Its lineage is marked by great power, but its full potential remains untapped."
More specific information can be seen after it becomes an adult.

Arlon frowned. "That's not very helpful. Could you be any more vague?"
The dragon tilted its head again as if mocking his frustration.
"Alright, fine. Let's start simple," Arlon said, leaning closer to the dragon. "Do you understand me?"
The dragon chirped in response, its tail swishing lightly against the blanket.
"Great. That's... a start, I guess. Well, if it was a Keldar, it couldn't understand me. Keldars are born unintelligent. That is one worry out of the way."
Arlon decided to give it a name, reasoning that it might strengthen their bond or at least make things less awkward. He looked at the dragon thoughtfully.
"Let's see... how about Nyx? It fits your colors and... well, your mysterious vibe."
The dragon chirped louder this time, its golden eyes brightening.
"Nyx it is, then," Arlon said with a small smile.
Nyx stretched its tiny wings, which shimmered faintly in the light, before curling back into its cozy spot on the blanket.
Arlon took a deep breath. "Alright, Nyx. I guess we're stuck with each other now."
Wait, didn't Karmel say there were three surprises? The enchanted equipment guide and the dragon make two.
What Arlon didn't know was that his right eye was sparkling with silent sparks after he woke up.
---
The weekend passed without any issues.
It was now the fifth month since the launch of EVR. Arlon received some rewards for topping the leaderboards, but they were unremarkable.
The only significant leaderboard reward before the one-year mark was the sixth-month reward. So, Arlon merely accepted the current rewards when the notification appeared and put them out of mind. He was waiting for the next month.
Over the weekend, Arlon only left the inn once, and that was to show Nyx to Zephyrion.
Surprisingly, Zephyrion didn't seem concerned. He even issued Arlon a permit to carry Nyx with him in public.
Arlon thought this meant there would be no issues walking around with a dragon.
---
Arlon read the instructions. He had already read it before, but he was scared that the paper would vanish for some reason.
He still didn't trust Karmel.
The instructions themselves were challenging... Arlon didn't even know how to acquire the necessary tools, so he noted a reminder in his system to ask Charon about them later.
He still didn't know Charon's past. He was cursed by Karmel, or maybe a friend of his? Iut it shouldn't have been possible.
In the end, Arlon still didn't know anything.
So he put the paper back into his inventory and opened the player forum for the second time in this timeline:
- Savior Spin-Off.
- Arlon is back to leveling up!
- Fight against these b*stards occupying the leveling zones.
- The most beautiful Trionian survey.
.
.
.
The headlines were about what he expected. The Savior Spin-Off was clearly speculation about crossing to the Keldars' side.
It should already be mostly completed, Arlon thought. There could even be spies among the players on the Trionians' side by now.
Still, he didn't dwell on it too much. He had already warned Zephyrion about the possibility. And no matter how disheartening it was, Arlon knew he couldn't save everyone.
As for the second headline, he ignored it entirely. It was embarrassing to see his name there again, no matter the context.
The third headline caught his attention briefly. It addressed the guilds occupying leveling zones, an issue players were growing increasingly frustrated with.
However, with one Demon down, Kelta might now feel relieved enough to deploy soldiers and address the problem.
Arlon had already discussed the matter with Zephyrion, so he felt no need to linger on it.
Finally, there was the last headline...
The most beautiful Trionian survey?
Arlon sighed but couldn't resist. He was a man, after all. Curiosity got the better of him, and he clicked the link.
It's just curiosity. Nothing else.
Seriously...
Despite his internal justification, Arlon found himself scrolling through the list, feeling both amused and exasperated by some of the players' comments.
